When we were parking we saw a car fly by us park and this female ran into the restaurant, once I go in to get a table it's the same female we had just saw running inside. She brought us our drinks and food but she didn't offer drink refills and she didn't check up on our table once after she brought the food. After we finished we tried to get her attention multiple times but she was sitting behind the bar talking with another waitress. You could tell she didn't want to be there or was just having a bad day. Food: the shrimp ceviche tostada wasn't good it didn't have any flavor and tasted old like it had been in the fridge for a while. You get your moneys worth at this steak house. Ample portions and tasty too. Mostly everyone is bilingual Spanish/English, this restaurant is connected to a party hall. The type of hall that is rented for wedding receptions. The restaurant is up front. The decor is full of big game taxidermy, kinda like a hunters paradise. They have a small bar off to the side. I recommend this place for date nights. They have elegant presentations. That being said the quality of meats are not the best. I don't think they use US Prime. More like choice cuts or less. They should have an upgraded cuts of meats options. Although I don't think they cater to these types of customers. More like quantity over quality. I'm giving this place 2 stars only because my experiences here in the past were genuinely good Unfortunately, today's visit was a major letdown and shows a serious drop in quality and attention to detail. The toritos appetizer was unacceptable. One of the chiles wasn't even wrapped in bacon--just a burnt piece of bacon thrown on top. That's not a small mistake, that's basic execution being ignored. The aguachiles were served warm, which completely ruins the dish, and they were so overwhelmingly spicy that they were nearly inedible. Heat is fine, but when it overpowers flavor to this extent, it feels careless rather than intentional. The baked potatoes came with zero sour cream and barely any toppings at all making them dry and incomplete. Again, this is a fundamental part of the dish. The steak was burnt, not properly seared, and the broccoli was mushy like it had been overcooked and sitting for far too long. Two years ago, this place had good service, solid food, and nice plating. Today felt like the kitchen didn't care at all. When multiple dishes come out wrong in one visit, it's no longer a one-off--it's a quality control problem. Everyone enjoyed their food however my husbands steak was cold by the time it arrived and that seems to be a common complaint. Los Pinos is our favorite place .. we had the shrimp cucaracha ,chicken bruschetta ,agua chile steak, Mac and cheese, kids chicken tender and fries , and the drinks are good too . His sides (potatoes and asparagus) the potatoes where under cooked as they where hard to the bite. The asparagus where good. Then my daughter who only ordered fries got her plate next and again the fries where cold and no ketchup. We hd to ask for ketchup 3 times and after 20 minutes we got it. Lastly my plate came and i cant complain because it was good. Not "let me wait 2 hours kinna good" but maybe my hunger made this dish seemed good.
