Came in for dinner. Staff is warm and welcoming. Our server was Maria and she was wonderful. Ambiance is casual and lively. When the live band is not playing, they have music playing in the background. They have a bar and TVs throughout. Parking lot fills up quickly. The appetizer they serve is ceviche along with crackers and tostadas. It was good. They have an extensive menu. I ordered the carne al carbon and hubby ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. The steak was juicy and tender and the guacamole was fresh. Fries came with my entree as well. They were good. Hubby enjoyed his entree as well. Drinks are really good. This place is good for its location. Not many places around this part of the city/town to have options. Service is good. Drinks are ok. Food is good. This place can be pricey. You'll find yourself paying $40 for a drink and $25 for a plate of seafood. It can seem backwards compared to a steak house or what not. The vibes are great on weekends catching a mariachi group coming in offering to play songs for money. And even if you don't pay for play,someone might and you can enjoy a song. I still don't know or even asked if they use fresh water or salt water shrimp. Most places like this use fresh water but charge salt water prices(you just have to ask/hopefully they're honest). The shrimp empanadas were ok. I wouldn't order again. The paella is alright nothing to brag about and very soggy. The champuzon was ok. Some parts of the octopus was really rubbery(as id expect is probably frozen). Oysters just do not smell the best. Overall, not my worse place. I'd say stop by try it. Great ambiance when I entered the restaurant. I ordered takeout: 2 chicken tacos and 1 beef. The chicken tacos were okay, but had a herbal seasoning I've never had. The beef taco had lima beans/in them to stretch the meat I guess, but the meat was too greasy, and I did not particulary care for that taco. Food was great and so are the portions everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Visited for my daughter's birthday as this is one of her favorite places. Today I got the paella which was pretty tasty but way too much seafood for me personally, idk what I was thinking haha. I love seafood but not this much. First time here and I would say it was a decent experience. I do have to say I was a little disappointed in their michelada. I also ended up ordering a skirt steak with shrimp but steak was over cooked and no seasoning seem to be added to it. The shrimp was definitely the best part of the meal. Authentic Mexican Seafood restaurant. The seafood was fresh and service was amazing. We went here on a Saturday evening around 4 pm. I ordered the Red Snapper it was fresh but I thought it lacked seasoning. The seafood pasta was rich and well seasoned. My sister ordered some fried shrimp which they don't typically cook fried, but they made them for her and disappointedly the shrimp was over cooked. The tacos were tasty. We ordered side dishes of their refried beans and rice and it was OK. Now the pineapple frozen margaritas tasted delicious but were weak on the alcohol. The tequila shot was on point. They have a full bar and a huge menu which was overwhelming. I think they're trying to do too much and they should consider eliminating some items off the menu. The music was loud and sometimes you had to talk loudly to hear each other. The decor was interesting and they should probably consider updating the space. This place was crowded so-they have a following. Dinner for 4 was about $225.00 and that's without tax and tip. I stopped by Los Magueyes with a friend before going to a soccer game about 10 minutes away. In my opinion, the best thing about this Restaurant was their service. You were greeted walking in and thanked walking out. The server was also very friendly and attentive. The food wasn't bad, it was pretty good. They even made a special adjustment to the paella I ordered. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of their drinks, but they looked amazing! (My friend was still recovering from a concussion and I didn't want to drink when she couldn't). If I do return to Los Magueyes, I will definitely take a sip and update my review. A few things I didn't care for: 1. No prices on the menu. Everything was subject to change. 2. The food was kind of pricey, but they do give a lot of it. 3. The welcome ceviche was already sitting out on the table when we arrived. 4. There was a fishy smell when entering the restaurant. Granted they do serve seafood. There wasn't anything too special about the decor. They have TVs and plenty of space and tables for large gatherings. Valentine weekend is always packed here so I ordered out last and when I order out from this place I always get the langostinos. Every time I order the langostinos they are always mushy. We ordered 3 different sea food cocktails; the shrimp cocktail, the shrimp and octopus cocktail and the Copa Maguey. The shrimp where average in size and lacking in flavor but if you add the lemon and crackers it's over all okay. Many people come to this place especially over the weekend mostly for the lively atmosphere, it's fun. There's mariachi or a small band that comes around each table and you can pay them per song to play for your table. Service is pretty good. I'm not a fan of this place, it's overly priced and the food is average. The drinks and food plates make for a nice picture. Started off with some margs and i would recommend the pineapple if anything. They taste too artificial for my liking. I have tried the tacos before and they were not bad , so i decided to go with the parrillada which was served on a molcajete with a bed of French fries , nopales, cebollitas, carne , chorizo and chicken. It also came with a side of beans and rice. Now as far as that goes, the meat and chorizo and veggies were both cooked well the only downside was that it only came with one of each meat item. We've been here several times the last few years and the food is ALWAYS fire! I feel like you definitely can't get a bad meal here! Flavor is always on point and the portions are huge. I always have enough for lunch the next day. Went to pick up an order today and service was fast and friendly. We did order ahead of the dinner rush though. I had the steak and shrimp fajitas - 10/10. My daughter had the chicken flautas and she enjoyed them. We got horchatas and they weren't overly sweet. People might complain about the prices being high but it's high quality food and the steak is ALWAYS great. Other places it can be a hit or miss with steak but not here IMO. My partner and I have been here in 2 different occasions and the food has been consistently good for the most part. We did have an issue with our guacamole tasting frozen the last time we were in however it was promptly taken care of and replaced with a fresher guacamole. I was there when I first opened up about a month later I got the seven seafood soup. It was great. You got the oysters on top clams. You can see the scallops crab legs now no the bottom of the soup has the seafood mix you can buy the bag of Tony's and pour in the soup. I didn't like that. We've been coming to this restaurant for a while now because we really like it but with every visit it just gets worse and worse. As always we got the complimentary ceviche tostadas. We got them on one plate and ended up using paper towels because we didn't get separate plates. I got the octopus and it was hard and chewy. And my husband got a half tray of prawns which was served on a smaller plate than usual and was literally maybe 7 pieces (and cost much more than my octopus with rice and salad). On top of that the food was served on chipped plates. Also for a place that serves so many different drinks in different glasses, it's ridiculous I got my horchata in a disposable cup. And if that wasn't enough, we had our daughter with us and we got a high chair that was sticky and dirty. We enjoyed live music and our server was very nice. So that's why it's 2 stars. I recently went 1st time for my girlfriend's birthday I absolutely loved the live Mariachi music on a Friday night, they make an extra effort to serenade everybody having a birthday, and the food presentation was excellent. I am not into seafood, so I only ordered 2 steak tacos but they were the largest and most delicious tacos I've ever had. So yes I will go back to order their Mexican food, but I believe they are quite pricey. The waiters and cooks work extra hard so plan on tipping big. read more

I've been recommending this place and for the last five visits, however, if you don't see the two Alex's working. the food is overcooked and tough! It was also interesting to her Cardi B's WAP @ 4:30 pm. Lol, if I was with my previous guest they would've been embarrassed to hear the unedited version. If I could give no stars I would. This place is ridiculous and the food is not worth it. 2 double shot tall Jack Daniels and coke 43.80 and I couldn't even tell if they put Jack in it. Fajitas was supposed to be steak and shrimp and they brought me steak and chicken. When I told the waitress she brought me non fajita cooked shrimp with a plate of fries. The shrimp was cold and over cooked (chewy). Do not order the tostadas de camaron it's horrible with no flavor. The atmosphere is ok but not a fan of the singer coming up to the table and singing while eating. Stick to the stage. I will not be going back and I won't be recommending Los Magueyes to anyone. I would recommend white castle over this place and I don't even like white castle.
