La Cocina De Mama is one of the popular places to drink and eat along this particular stretch. Far from authentic. They focus more on look and taste. Came in and got seats at the bar. It's often crowded and this time was no exception. There was a wait for a table. Of course cocktails. We got a couple of these. It's about $13 for a margarita. The Cucumber Margarita is great stuff. It's about $12 for a burrito. Menu has a good amount to choose from. I got the Vegetariano Burrito. This has beans, cheese which I left off, lettuce, rice, and tomatoes. Filling. There's even more items if looking. Great stuff to drink and eat. It's located on 95th Street at Massasoit. There's a few things for vegetarians.

We arrived around 4 pm and there was about a 25 minute wait. It is cozy so there were people waiting outside. The decor is more modern than traditional. They have a bar and TVs. It was made fresh at our table and hubby added a little more salt to it. We were also served a small bowl of salsa. The chips are warm and fresh. Hubby ordered the combo fajitas and a strawberry margarita. I ordered the steak enchiladas rojas and a pina colada. Everything was seasoned well and we enjoyed our meals. Kudos to the bartender for making great drinks!

The family who owns this place is so warm and welcoming. They genuinely go the extra mile for everyone. I watched them greet so many people with a handshake or a friendly check-in, and even though we were far from home, they made us feel completely at home. You can tell they truly care about the people who walk through their doors. And the food was amazing too! We ordered the chorizo and eggs, and they actually make their own chorizo--it had SO much flavor. We also had the guacamole, which was delicious. Our bellies were definitely full when we left! I really can't say enough about this place--the atmosphere, the food, and especially the people. We would absolutely come back if we're ever in the area again!

To me, great Mexican food always starts with great steak, and I wouldn't be coming here if they didn't have just that. Everything else falls into place after that. From decently sized burritos to hunger satisfying tortas, there is something for everyone here. The nachos are incredible and definitely something to share with someone as well from what I can remember. Can't beat a glass bottle of coke with a meal as well.
