Tacos Guac & Chips and Quesa-Birrias
    Brandon F.

Stopped by Takito Holic while in the area and tried the birria meal, chips and guacamole, and a steak street taco. My wife had the same, except she went with the chicken taco. Overall, the experience was solid. The consomé had good flavor, definitely one of the highlights, but felt like it was just missing that one extra layer of richness or spice to really push it over the top. Still, enjoyable. The birria meat was super tender, which we appreciated. Only downside? The cheese. There was a lot of it. Not a dealbreaker, and some folks might love that, but I personally would've liked the meat to shine a bit more instead of being smothered. Chips and queso were solid, and the tacos were satisfying. Cozy little spot near Midway, and the staff was friendly. Would I come back? Yeah, especially for a casual bite if I'm in the area again.

    Keto-holic tacos.

The keto-holic tacos are tacos in a cheese shell. I had it with pastor and thought it was good. The pork was tasty and seasoned well but I thought the chicken was a bit bland. The service was good and the server was attentive and friendly.

    No, consume for the tacos.

Worse experience ever, I made an order of 7 birria tacos and they gave me regular tacos instead and everything else was missing from the uber driver. Made the request for a refund uber denied it. I call the store to try to explain what happen to me and they wouldn't pick up until 10 min later. I explain the issue to the person who picked up the phone and she asked the person who made my order and she said she remembers making my birria tacos when it's a complete lie. I told them I have prove of the pictures and that I would be posting them. this isn't the first time it has happen from this place. Someone there doesn't know how to read orders properly. I didn't pay 50$ to get something else I didn't want for which it turn out to be cheaper. this place sucks they denied my refund. And the beef tacos they gave me were bad they lacked flavor and salt.

Tried one of their chorizo Tortas today with my pal, the staff was friendly and service was good! The food came out quick and it was full of flavor. Price was good for how big it was too. Would definitely come back to pound another Torta! Also great inside and clean bathroom :)

I liked Takito-Holic a lot. The dining room was small but the service was friendly. The food was hot and flavorful. I had a steak taco dinner. I can always appreciate authentic Mexican food and Tahito-Holic did not disappoint. See you soon.

    Quesa-birria with broth soup

This place was nice and clean and the theme colors of the place was a great design to make the restaurant really stand out. The service was good and fast and it did not take long to get my food. I ordered the quesa-birria and it was basically a corn tortilla filled with birria meat and cheese. Cilantro, lime and onions came on the side as a topping and it also came with a consume broth-like soup to dip the quesa-birria in. The meat inside was tender and not tough. The corn tortilla was soft in texture and the cheese had the perfect cheese pull. Now the birria as a whole did lack seasoning but that's where the broth soup comes into play. It helps add more flavor to the birria and makes it much more enjoyable. The Mexican rice was okay but lacked salt. This is a place I will definitely visit again because the prices weren't bad either.

I'm think I'm being generous with giving 2 stars. The cashier was very nice to us so I don't want to give only 1 star. My dad and I stopped in yesterday, food looked yummy on the menu. But, unfortunately, it was not good. My el pastor taco was very colorful, and very bland. The quesa-birrias were not good at all. The consome tasted like canned beef soup. I think if they focused on adding much more flavor to their food, they could be a great spot.

Very yummy queda-birria. It is basically a quesadilla with shredded marinated in sauces that you dip in consomé, a delicious meaty flavored broth. It's definitely a messy meal and a little greasy, but so flavorful and yummy. My boyfriend got the gringa birria which is basically the same thing but with flour tortillas rather than corn. We were both super impressed. The restaurant is small, but quite a bit of seating. Staff is very friendly and quick. The virgin pina colada was so delicious and as a non-alcohol drinker, it was nice to have nonalcoholic options. I really loved everything.

This has the best Quesa-Birrias every I got it without the cheese, but they were so tender and amazing. Whatever is in the dripping sauce it is the perfect amount of spicy and makes the Birrias so much better and juicy. The horchata was by far the best I have had. It tasted like cinnamon ice coffee. I would highly recommend this place and come here again! I am giving a four due to me only have one thing from there and did not get a chance to see how the service was as this was a takeout order!

Nice hidden spot with plenty of lighting and comfortable seating. The service was friendly and attentive. You can sit down and they'll bring a menu and food to your table. I had the gringa birria that was really tasty. Lots of flavor even without the included broth which is delicious. Overall a definite place to check out.

Cute 'lil taco joint in a strip mall. No parking problems. Very clean inside. Seems to be a family operation, sweet young lady at the front counter, couple of middle agers in back cooking. Order at counter and food is bussed to the table when ready. I chose the steak burrito, it was ready in a few minutes, and was reliably good. I tried the salsa verde and the salsa rojo, hard to decide which one I preferred. Both were zingy, the green more so than the red. I'll probably stop in again when in the area to sample some of their other offerings!

Food: DELICIOUS!! We ordered the 1) birria bowl 2) steak nachos 3) steak tacos 4) gringa de birria and 5) steak burrito. Everything was nicely seasoned. I've had better steak nachos, but overall, tasty. The birria bowl was HUGE! They should offer a birria CUP. I got through maybe half of it. Down side, they forgot to pack condiments like onion and cilantro for my to-go order. Customer service: they were super busy on a Sunday night. Thankfully we ordered via DoorDash pickup. They forgot to pack condiments and hot sauce, why I docked points. The front desk person was too busy on the phone taking orders to fully help us when we got there. No biggie- just wish we had the condiments go elevate the consomé. Great looking restaurant! Next time, we'll def eat in and try their drinks!

    Mango margarita

This tastes DELICIOUS! I'll recommend it to my friends. The tacos are juicy and hot. The mango margarita is perfect.

Recent order, still showing we only selected cilantro online.

Get the nacho fries, fish tacos, and birria. You won't be disappointed. We've ordered from there twice and both times were great.

La Cocina De Mama is one of the popular places to drink and eat along this particular stretch. Far from authentic. They focus more on look and taste. Came in and got seats at the bar. It's often crowded and this time was no exception. There was a wait for a table. Of course cocktails. We got a couple of these. It's about $13 for a margarita. The Cucumber Margarita is great stuff. It's about $12 for a burrito. Menu has a good amount to choose from. I got the Vegetariano Burrito. This has beans, cheese which I left off, lettuce, rice, and tomatoes. Filling. There's even more items if looking. Great stuff to drink and eat. It's located on 95th Street at Massasoit. There's a few things for vegetarians.

It was made fresh at our table and hubby added a little more salt to it. We were also served a small bowl of salsa. The chips are warm and fresh. Hubby ordered the combo fajitas and a strawberry margarita. I ordered the steak enchiladas rojas and a pina colada. Everything was seasoned well and we enjoyed our meals. The food showcases how thoughtfully prepared plant-based ingredients can still deliver the depth, texture, and character you expect from traditional Mexican dishes. The corn "fried ribs" were a standout. Crisp and deeply savory on the exterior while maintaining a tender, almost juicy interior, they had a satisfying contrast in texture. The homemade Abuelita sauce added another layer of flavor, bringing a subtle sweetness and acidity that balanced the richness of the dish. The al pastor tacos were equally impressive. Shredded jackfruit provided a surprisingly substantial texture and carried the smoky, sweet, and savory seasoning beautifully. Paired with freshly made tortillas, the tacos had a great balance of texture and flavor without feeling overly heavy. The carne asada with mushrooms was another strong dish. The mushrooms offered a hearty, meaty bite with plenty of savory depth, while the seasoning and charred notes captured some of the essence you look for in traditional carne asada. Freshness is clearly part of the philosophy here. The use of avocado oil and tortillas made fresh daily adds a noticeable level of care to the cooking, and the ingredients tasted vibrant rather than overly processed. Overall, Abuelita CoCo is a compelling example of vegan Mexican cuisine done with intention. Whether you follow a plant-based diet or simply appreciate well-executed Mexican food, this is a spot worth putting on your list.

I got the Fish Dinner Tacos ($25), and my husband got Flautas de Papa ($18). I was eyeballing their Pozole or Menudo but didn't really want to pay $22 for a bowl of soup. Everything on the menu just felt too expensive, especially for being in a casual atmosphere outside the city. Quesadilla La Reina del Sur has a plethora of vegan tacos you can get for like $4 each. I was in the mood for dessert, but even something as simple as 2 cookies with milk would be $24, so we went elsewhere. The food was fine, and the service was fairly attentive, but nothing blew me out of the water for these prices. They also added a 3.5% fee to the bill.
