They have since moved from their original location and buildout a really nice restaurant- since then my eating lifestyle and taste buds have changed - due to my customized vegan diet I have incorporated fish and shrimp so had their shrimp tostadas and they were very good! I have been here at their "new" location at least 4 times. Beautiful building, great interior and easy parking. I've had so so experiences and I've had good experiences. Today was less than so so. To start, service was great. Always attentive, friendly and quick. The food? Eh.... The chips with salsa when you first sit down were quite stale. I don't know if they are made in house or not, but a disappointment. We did request another basket, but they were stale also. Salsa was good and you can tell it was made in house. Drinks were quick, cold and tasty. But once again, like many other restaurants in the area, out of Chardonnay. Is there a shortage I haven't heard about? We ordered the queso with chorizo. A huge grease pile. It was inedible. What happened to bringing fundido out in the vessel it was cooked in? As soon as you dump it in a cold dish it's done. Regardless, it was swimming in so much grease, yuck. On to the entrées! I got the bistec fajitas and the wife got the shrimp empanadas. Shrimp empanadas looked good and tasted good. No complaints. Fajitas? Not so much. Very little flavor and over cooked. Everything had a bit of a crispy burnt taste. We also got a side of guacamole. Obviously made in house and well done! All in all, I probably won't be back. So many other great options in this city. Life's to short for average food. read more

I really can't even rate it !!! It's service is horrendous!!! Waited to be seated at the entrance... stood there for literally 10min and not one person (employee) even looked up toward us as they tended to the tables .... The service was prompt, but the food was terrible! Looking at the menu there was a great selection of items. It seems that everything we ordered was barely edible. The guacamole was loaded with Jalapeños and onions. I had a bowl of their Zucchini soup which tasted mainly like a tomato soup. My fresh squeezed Lemon Juice drink was horrific. We live close by so it's convenient. But, even with convenience I would not recommend this place. First time I went I ordered the menudo; basic Mexican restaurant food. It smelled bad and after the first taste, it was obvious it was spoiled. We informed the waitress and she copped an attitude. We heard someone else order the menudo to go and we let them know about the spoiled menudo. When they got their to go pot back, they too complained about it. Again, the lady behind the register got a crappy attitude. Well, we gave it another shot. We arrived, I think we were the first ones in that morning; it was pretty early. We sat down and the table was nasty. We switched tables and that table was nasty. Well, we decided to leave. It wasn't like anyone came over to take our order or anything of the sort. We left. We decided to give it a 3rd try after a few months. Place was half capacity, line started to form, about 12 folks waiting. Staff would pass by did not sit the waiting customers so some started to leave, we stayed. Finally we were given a table, table was dirty, the napkin dispenser had no napkins, there crumbs all over it, the salt and pepper shakers were nasty, our silverware was nasty. My wife ordered a cup of coffee and the mug had lipstick, it was just nasty. We left, were not coming back. BTW, we rather eat local and support local businesses and tip very well but this place is just nasty, dirty, bad service. read more

Tasty food but horrible service from a waitress named Saory. My sister got a ice tea with a dirty spoon and mentioned it to the waitress and she said " oh they just made the ice tea and it's from that " ( the dirty spoon was clearly dirty as it had coffee and cream on it; my sister even wiped it on a napkin to show the waitress). My friend ask for guacamole as a appetizer and 20 mins have passed.. nothing. We asked the waitress and she went to I guess check.... she clearly must of forgotten because I saw that she went to the computer and placed the order for guacamole. Also it didn't seem like she cared so much for our table because she was so attentive to the other tables I had to flag her down to refill our drinks ( we had a few empty cups on our table which shows she wasn't going to our table often) Myself and others at our table use to work for the restaurant industry as servers and understand. Placed an order for pick up, they said 20 minutes but ended up waiting close to an hour. There were also two other customers waiting forever for their pickup orders, some dine-ins walking out upset, and some that arrived, heard of the wait (from customers because the cashiers weren't advising customers of the long wait) and left. If you want to spend your Saturday waiting an hour after you've ordered, sitting and staring at stressed out waiters, this is the place to go. I frequent this place quite bit. Their food is delicious not to mention they have a bakery and tortillería. I do have say that one of the reasons I come here is for their menudo. However, the last few times I've eaten there, the menudo is EXTREMELY spicy. The first time, the waitress said it was because the chile used is very spicy and they didn't expect that. I visited today and the menudo is the same. Let me tell you, I'm a Mexican lady that was raised on spicy food, however, this is way too spicy. I think Mexican food is good with some spicy flavor, but leave it to the patrons to add more if they so desire to. Also, they will charge you for it if you do not eat it. There was also a time when I felt the lentil soup tasted funny. The owner came and tasted it in front of me and said there was nothing wrong with it. I was charged for it. Honestly I love Jarones but will only go to the canutillo location. We bought soups from this establishment and didn't get the majority of our order, we live 20 minutes away and we're hoping someone would be kind and make it right. I called the store and the manager Juan was completely rude. Instead of apologizing and fixing the matter he wiped his hands clean by saying they're too busy so it's normal. I finally get over it and we decide to eat the soups. I found a ROACH. Juan once again wiped his hands clean of this. Literally the worst experience I've ever had, and the worst manager I've ever met. I've worked as a server for years and someone with no care for his customers should not be a manager. read more

The waitress and manager do not know how to manage the tables when they have people waiting to be set. They supposedly have this set up that you have to wait til they clean tge tables when they just ignore you abd do as when they please. But yet if they know the person they step on it right away. This place has gotten worse and worse everytime I have gone in to eat. After they sit you down they take 15 to 20 minutes to acknowledge you to see what you would like to drink than after what you want to order. Common courtesy at a restaurant usually means that if you stare at a server in the eye it means please come by and help us. Nope-we were ignored until trying to wave someone down for 10-15 minutes. That's just sad, because the owner was there taking care of issues at the bar so you'd think the employees would be on the best behavior. Also, the parking is not well planned. They made the spots so tiny that even a compact car is hard to get in and the parking is on a slope so that doesn't help. Juan, please fix the service. Went to have some Mexican menudo. The best in town. The place gets so crowded on the weekends so that speaks for the quality of the food and the good service. Waiters are friendly and there is a good vibe inside. Flavors are authentic Mexican and the princess are very reasonable. Portions are big so you can have your family for a Saturday breakfast without breaking the bank. Also they have a bakery so you can take some good bread home. I love this place. A couple of friends and I went to breakfast here the other day and I had the Huevos con Jamon; 2 eggs, ham , refried beans and potatoes. The food came quickly and was stove hot and delicious. Personally, I wouldn't have minded if the spuds were fried just a tad more. They weren't as soft as i prefer. Nonetheless, the food was quite delicious. Being my first visit, it appears to be a popular restaurant judging from the patrons there. The menu is bulky. They've combined breakfast, lunch and dinner into the same menu. It appears that you are able to order off the complete menu because my friend had a hamburger steak smothered in queso and it wasn't an option on the breakfast menu. A one man musician serenaded tables during our meal and all the guests seemed to enjoy the serenade. I personally prefer to be able to visit with the people I'm dining with and that was problematic somewhat. It's of no consequence though. That's just me. I wouldn't hesitate returning to eat there again. The prices were very reasonable and the food was plentiful. Overall, I enjoyed the food the friendship and the whole experience being the first vist for me. It's easy access with plenty of parking. It's another restaurant that I'll return to. I would like to review the food but I can't because we were never seated. We went on a Monday at around 2:30pm. There were a few people dining in. We waited while another patron picked up her order. We were told someone would be there to help us. We continued to wait. We waited long enough to review the take out menu. One server walked toward us with two menus in hand. We started to follow him but realized he wasn't tending to us. He put the menus away and started wiping down a table. The cashier kept telling us someone would be with us shortly. So I was going to send a message instead of writing a review but messaging is not an option. Let me start off by saying that the food is AMAZING!! The service however was HORRIBLE. Our waitress Liz kept walking away half way through our drinks and food orders, she was walking away while my husband was still Ordering first his beer then again when he was ordering his combo plate which she didn't even ask what type of meat. We had to stop her from leaving so he could get that part in as well. She didn't ask what kind of tortillas we wanted until AFTER our food was brought out, she just brought out mine and my husbands plate and walked away without telling us about my mom's food, my husband and mom didn't get any beer or drink refills or were even asked if they wanted more drinks (which my husband did want more beers with his food) and I was told all the Machaca plates were mixed with eggs which just doesn't sound right but our waitress insisted there was no way to get Machaca by itself. Lastly, we sat there like idiots waiting for a check and had to get another waiter to help us. He told us our table number and check out process. It was such an awful experience but the food again, was great. I would just hate for you to lose more customers because of shit service when you have such an amazing product! Packed at lunch, that's always a good sign. Got there about 1130 and already almost every table was taken. Grabbed a spot away from the door and prepared to dig in. Ordered the carnitas taco plate with rice and refried beans. While waiting for our food, I noticed no one was eating chips n salsa. This is one of the first Mexican restaurants I have been to in the area where this wasn't a staple on the table. Oh well, no biggie. Presentation of food was good.
