For a neighborhood Mexican restaurant, they provide nice plump grilled high quality chicken fajitas, great queso, and best skinny Rita's around! Only gave them 4 stars because I've only been here 3 times but for a place not called Los Cucos, Pappasitos, or Lupe Tortilla........this place is great and beats our previous local joint Rico's!!!!! TRUE TEXMEX!! I have been here four times and have yet to be let down. The margaritas are always on some sort of special and very well priced. The chips and Salsa are homemade tasting, y'all just have to come and try. Enchiladas and fajitas never disappoint. We sat on the patio at lunch today and we basically had three waiters. I have NEVER seen a Chile Relleno cooked in a bowl of Tabasco sauce and soaked soaked in it. The beans and rice were so soggy and tasted like something from a can brought at the 99 cent store from 10 years ago. Thank god I had heart burn pills handy. I felt like I was on Episode of Chief Gordon Ramsay, worse restaurant in Texas version. We ate here two weeks ago and the food was ok. I'm not sure they sold the restaurant since but the chief should be fired. read more

Went here for lunch, quite a good size crowd when I walked in. Sat in a booth, got chips delivered real quick, my drink order came next and was done just as fast and then ordered our entrees. One fish tacos and a burrito. The fish tacos were the best she's had and same as charro beans. They were good. The burrito came, covered in cheese, and was just as delicious. I'll be back. Lunchtimes not a bad time to go and check out a restaurant. Our drinks were always filled and other patrons got just as good service too. read more

Great food and service with fair prices. This place has a great atmosphere if you are looking for something with a more intimate setting to carry on conversation over a meal. The servers are very attentive and they have lunch menu w/ specials going on 7 days a week. The beer is cold and the food is fresh and hot, nice place to stop in if you are on Louetta Road. There is a nice bar area and adjacent patio outdoors. Parking is easy. read more

The place is slightly unwelcoming to big groups, upon ordering a drink I was carded a total of 3 times because my 21st was a month ago. Had two mojitos and my friend had a margarita and we can both say that this place isn't the place to drink since both our drinks didn't taste like there was any alcohol in it. Ate here with my son, wife and best friend. This is the 5th time eating here. Ordered the nachos, way too much cheese. Nachos tasted stale: my sons taco was way to hot on the inside, burnt his mouth biting into the taco. They claim to have the best margarita in Houston: Los Generales Margarita. Tasted more like orange juice. I've also never heard of a Mexican restaurant that runs out of salsa! Certainly no shortage of Mexican restaurants along Louetta but this places truly stands out. Great margaritas, chips, salsa, friendly staff, great service, inexpensive, all the things you expect from a Mexican Restaurant in Houston. But best of all.. the Fish Taco's are freeking fantastic. Pretty darn good Mexican restaurant that has fair prices and really strong margaritas. They even have quail! Place can get busy at night but it is usually slow so the service is always on point. Quality of food is good as well. Free chips and salsa. read more

I went with my family Saturday August 13 2016 @ 6:00pm. The food was horrible. The top shelf margaritas made with orange juice. I tries the Los Generals plate for $32.99 the quail didn't taste like it was freshly made, it tasted like it was made prior days. Chicken poblano & shrimp bruschetta was burnt. I ordered ground beef enchilada for my kids & they gave me steak enchilada. The manager change it to a cheese enchilada still my kids didn't eat it (reminding my children love enchiladas). I would NOT recommend this place to any one looking for good Mexican food. Great service! Horrible food! read more

My parents and I make it a point to invite a family out to eat with us after church service every Sunday, and 90% of the time we go to Los Generales. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and -- most importantly for our purposes -- the atmosphere is pleasant and quiet. Consistently good food. read more

Best Mexican food restaurant in the area. My family and I have eaten here almost every week for the past couple of years. Why ? Delicious food! My family orders takeout on a weekly basis and food is always hot and ready to go. The young guy who takes the orders is always friendly and remembers our order from previous times. We have had minor mess ups but they are always eager to fix it. As a restaurant manager myself, I understand mess ups happen so I still give them a 5 star rating! read more

We stopped in for a quick bite one night, because I just needed a margarita. The margaritas had a different taste, but was still good. I plan on going back. I got a ground beef burrito covered in queso, that was way better than I expected for the price. My boyfriend got chicken wrapped in cheese, bacon, and jalapeño that he enjoyed. Mixed bag. Their salsas are pretty good, I like the chicken mole enchiladas and the tostadas, and their charro beans are my favorites so far, but the beef dishes tend to be very oily and the bistec mexicano, inexplicably, came without any tomatoes. The service is always very good. read more

This is the place for me - friendly staff offering great service - great margaritas, queso, and fajitas - grilled shrimp, steak or chicken - they're all outstanding.
