I've used Lo's Contracting for over 20 years now, and they always deliver. They just repaired a deck that had rotting pieces of frame and they did a great job. Over the years, they have done many jobs for me including exterior painting, drywall repair, a full kitchen remodel, a full bath remodel, and hardwood floor installation. They have always completed the projects on time and on budget. Hired Lo's Contracting to add natural light in our bathroom and to finish out a large attic space (adding insulation, framing, drywall, trim, and painting). I took three bids for the project. Lo's bid was not the lowest, but it was very competitive, and the most thorough. So, we hired Lo's. Amadou Lo and his crew were all friendly, professional, and respectful, which made it much easier to live through the remodel. Amadou was also an excellent communicator throughout the whole project. They were able to get the work done on time, on budget, and as promised. They were also able to nimbly deal with the unexpected situations that inevitably arise in any remodel. We had them do flooring for our entire condo as well as some additional touch ups needed before we could move our stuff in. We hired Lo's to seal up a hole in an exterior wall of our house and to replace the siding. They did an excellent job. Lo's came recommended from a friend, and when we reached out to them the owner Amadou was prompt in his response and super friendly. Lo's Contracting was a pleasure to work with. Amadou and his team are great communicators always letting you know what is happening on the job and work they are performing. I had carpet and tile removed in two days and new vinyl wood floor installed just a couple days later. Marlon was a real pro installing the flooring and he also built a fence in two days. The floor and fencing is perfectly done. Lo's is easy to work with and continues to check to ensure that the job is completed to satisfaction. Amadou Lo is awesome. Extremely customer-focused and honestly wants to do the best job he can for his customer. He works very hard and was on time for every appointment. We bought a huge fixer in NE Portland. We would live in it when it was done. But this house needed everything - paint, roof, gutters, added a dormer bathroom, re-inforced basement, reframed garage that had rotted out, new garage door, drywalled kitchen after a gut, opened up a wall, put in an archway, etc. There were delays. Especially on the exterior paint, but this ran into the fall with rain showers. I had to call Amadou and ask about the delays and where his painters were. He promptly explained they had 4-5 houses they were painting all at once and the procedure they follow. They work on several houses at once and work on a different house each day to allow for dry times. Giving them the benefit of the doubt here, they are busy because they're popular. Also, his office staff wasn't the most friendly at times. I think they downsized when business slowed. It just so happened we asked for his services when business became hot again so they were probably flooded with work during this time period. Also, they broke some windows during the work. But, they were promptly and professionally repaired, and you can't even tell they were broken. (These guys were working extremely fast with a great end result) I understand as a small business owner, you can't control everything your employees are doing. Painters and roofers were especially fantastic. Roofers literally whistled to themselves as they worked. Painters were super personable and friendly. Neighbors even commented several times about these crews. Really appreciate all their hard work. I would have subtracted 1 star for delays and grumpy office workers but do not believe Amadou deserves the 1 star reviews on this site. read more

The Lo's team is great to work with. We had some water damage on a bathroom ceiling. They helped us identify the problem and worked with us to schedule the ceiling repair after we fixed a plumbing issue. Then they promptly scheduled the ceiling repair, showed up on time, finished the repair in a day, and now the ceiling looks like new. Amadou is terrific! read more

Amadou lo is quite charming. Do not let your guard down with this guy. We contracted with him a couple of years ago after a tenant had had her apartment painted. We agreed upon painting our triplex with an additional $650 for detail work. Beware of this guy.... the painters rushed the job, did not do any of the detail work, painted over rust on metal railings without even steel brushing the rust off!!!! Their method of operation is to rush the job while you are at work and get the final coat on so you cannot see the lack of "prep" work. They rushed our triplex job trying to leave in three days!!!! We took issue and called the Oregon Construction and Contracting Board in Salem. We were advised to give him a letter with 30 days to correct the deficiencies. He countered with wanting to to have "experts" look at the job. He had shills including one "Dilbert" from Sherwin Williams Paint try to convince us that everything was fine. Only after Amadou got an email copy of our letter that we had sent to him via certified mail did he acquiesce and correct the deficiencies! This guy is unscrupulous and dishonest, I would never recommend him and I would warn everyone to be aware of every step of the painting process. He will cheat you if he gets a chance!!!! In regard to Mr. Lo's comment posted 10/31/2014 three years later after I posted this review: everything in this review is factual and did indeed occur and I have all the written documentation and he knows it. read more

Lo's recently took on the giant job of painting our three story, 105 year old lead paint covered house. It was a big and ugly job - the paint was peeling, a lot of siding needed to be replaced, the house is really tall. They did a great and fast (10 days) job for a reasonable price. All the guys on the job were great, nice, neat, kind (they answered my children's' many questions). They were willing to make adjustments in the painting after the job had stared. The bid was reasonable and the job from start to finish was just as Amadou promised. The 2 man crew knew their business and the work from prep to clean up was just as promised.
