My husband and I have been here a few times, and when my daughter and her husband and sons were visiting, we took them there. They all enjoyed their meals, and I hope to take them back there when they visit again. I myself have not been as happy, but I'm not as fond of Mexican food as they are. Their guacamole dip, which they prepare at your table, is excellent! I think their soft drinks taste a little off, so I just order water when we go. Good food, smooth service, exactly what you want when the couch has already won the evening. A small piece of friendly advice: order your tacos with corn tortillas. I made the innocent mistake of asking for flour, and they delivered burrito-size tortillas with small taco filling, which created a slightly amusing tortilla-to-filling ratio. This is a good place. We winter the next town down from here, and in March we were invited to dinner with friends from out of the area. We had never been there, but we had a lovely time and the food was spot on. Drinks were huge and lovely. So we went back a few days ago, and were even more blown away by the food. A big basket of taco chips was set on the table before we sat down, accompanied by a bowl of fresh salsa, with just a hint of heat. My wife had a Chicken Burrito Mexicano. I a rack of 3 taco's. Both were more than we could eat. I especially liked the refried beans and rice that was on the side of the taco's. My wife is in love with the burritos. Service was prompt, and we had our meal within ten minutes of the order. There are at least 3 mexican restaurants in town, We think this is the best. Conviently located across from The Central Hotel. So if you are in town for the trail, and you like Mexican food, this is a must visit. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Called ahead to order chips, queso and salsa. No food you have to cook. I was told 5 minutes. Got there 10 minutes later. Waited 25 minutes in the restaurant for chips and salsa. They first came out with the wrong order. Then they came out a second time with items missing and things I did not order. Gave my card to pay. Waited 8 minutes just to check out. Then they didn't give my card back and had to wait for them to come back to the front to ask for my card back. Will NOT be back. This was a great find we saw driving to our Airbnb horse ranch just 8 miles away. The menu is very diversified, many Mexican restaurant staples but enough creativity to make think that sound a great. I had a very delightful asada 3 taco plate and the cup of soup that is actually a bowl of soup so buyer beware they give large portions of soup. read more

Service is good. But not authentic food. It's just your typical Mexican/American style restaurant.

My wife and I are very disappointed. We just got fajitas to go from the Inverness location and we got home only to see that there is no guacamole! It would be one thing if we were dine-in patrons where we could ask our waitress to bring us our guacamole, but that isn't an option for us. PAY ATTENTION - you are losing customers due to your lack of attention to detail! As for what we DID get, the shrimp were properly cooked and well seasoned. We were disappointed by their use of tiny (6") tortillas. They are much too small for a proper fajita. The tiny dollop of sour cream was placed on top of the lettuce instead of being put in a small container so that I could decide where to use it. Thankfully we have some at home. Swing and a miss - I doubt we'll be back. read more

My favorite here, we always enjoy dining inn. The servers know what they are serving. Nothing worse than getting an "I don't know. Restroom always clean and stocked. Had to wait one time about 20 min longer that the normal but because of our prior experiences it was easily over looked plus the waiter gave us complimentary taco salad to share like a appitizer. They have changed their name to Los Compadres Mexican Grill. Absolutely amazing food! We ordered their street tacos and they were oh-so-good! I had the carnitas street tacos and the meat was so well flavored they didn't need a sauce (but beware the sauce they give on the side is extremely hot). Fantastic, creamy beans and rice come with it. Their salsa - the one they put on the table with tortilla chips - is out of this world good. And very friendly service. I want to come back! Apparently bones in your chimichangas is normal and no big deal at this place. Wait staff was incredibly dismissive when we asked him to let the kitchen staff know there was a bone in the food. It would have been a completely different experience if the waiter had apologized or shown any concern about the bone. He basically shrugged it off as nothing. This tells me that they do not care about customer's safety. If a child had been eating that chimichanga, he could have choked. read more

Wow! What a nice surprise! This place is fantastic. Our server Tajma was helpful, on the ball and a great waitress. The food was absolutely divine. Meals were actually seasoned and spiced nicely. The habanaro salsa is very hot. I like it that way. You have to ask for this hot salsa to get it. The Pina Loca ($18) was very yummy and unique. I have never had it before. The Grande Special ($15) was average. The guacamole dip ($4) was good. The plastic staws ( yey, I hate paper) are too short for the glasses. I would rather have better napkins. I should have known better when I didn't see any Mexicans working there! To start with, the waitress brought the wrong orders out to us. We didn't realize it until we started eating. When I told the waitress, she had no idea, even though the entree I ordered looked completely different than the one that was brought out to me. She then brought me the item I ordered. This will be our last visit to Habaneros. We wanted to eat outside on the patio .. the outside tables with umbrellas are metal, rusted, and dirty. There was no one outside, so asked the wait staff if they had place mats to put on the tables and was told 'no'. We ate inside, early afternoon .. the food was served warm (not hot) and my companion who had ordered fajitas received it warm on a platter (not sizzling in a pan).. Never had fajitas delivered this way in the many many Mexican restaurants in which we have eaten. We are both from the southwest and were very disappointed in the presentation ... the chips were very good, the salsa was good .. the staff was good .. the margaritas had very little tequila in them ... altogether a disappointing meal. I was really excited to try this place based on the stellar reviews. But sadly, Habaneros didn't live up to the hype. Habaneros is very cute inside with lots of spacious booths. Our waitress was very nice and visited our table promptly to get our drink orders and bring us a basket of warm chips and house made salsa. The chips were pretty yummy and the salsa tasted fresh but was very mild. I ordered a plate with an enchilada, a burrito, and a chile relleno. I wasn't asked what kind I wanted (or maybe there is no choice?) but they were all ground beef. The enchilada was the best of the bunch. The very bland beef filling was saved by the corn tortilla and the enchilada sauce which added a little flavor. The burrito had a red sauce on top that had a sour unbalanced flavor. And finally, the same tame beef filled the pepper of my chile relleno. Unlike any other relleno I've ever had it was not battered and fried. Actually it was barely baked so it was crisp tender and watery. No bueno! I'm hoping dessert will save the day! We ordered the cheesecake chimichanga and the triple cappuccino mousse. Our waitress just came back to let us know they were out of the cappuccino dessert. The cheesecake chimi was pretty tasty and a nice way to round out the meal. We'll probably come back to try something else to give the a fair shake. read more

Maybe we went on a good night, our service, and food was top notch! Very tasty, Guacamole was superb, chips were fresh & hot. I wasn't crazy about the salsa, although it wasn't bad, I just prefer fresh & chunky salsa. Our experience was a good one, we will definitely be back! There are not a lot of choices in Citrus County, especially for Mexican food, and we have tried pretty much all of them...out of the ones we have tried, Habanero's is the go to one for us, hands down! :) I would also like to mention that the entire staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean...no complaints here! :D read more
