One evening we were simply too tired to go out, so Los Compadres came to the rescue with delivery. We ordered enchiladas and tacos, and everything arrived promptly, hot, and satisfying. Good food, smooth service, exactly what you want when the couch has already won the evening. A small piece of friendly advice: order your tacos with corn tortillas. I made the innocent mistake of asking for flour, and they delivered burrito-size tortillas with small taco filling, which created a slightly amusing tortilla-to-filling ratio. Still, a tasty and convenient dinner when energy is low and comfort food is calling. read more

My husband and I have been here a few times, and when my daughter and her husband and sons were visiting, we took them there. They all enjoyed their meals, and I hope to take them back there when they visit again. I myself have not been as happy, but I'm not as fond of Mexican food as they are. Their guacamole dip, which they prepare at your table, is excellent! I think their soft drinks taste a little off, so I just order water when we go. My husband always enjoys his meal, but I will let him write his own review. Even though I am not overly fond of the food, the service is always prompt, even when busy, and the staff is always professional and accommodating. read more

Consistently Delicious, affordable and fresh ingredients. I recommend the table side guacamole and the poblano. Great fun!

This is a good place. We winter the next town down from here, and in March we were invited to dinner with friends from out of the area. We had never been there, but we had a lovely time and the food was spot on. Drinks were huge and lovely. So we went back a few days ago, and were even more blown away by the food. A big basket of taco chips was set on the table before we sat down, accompanied by a bowl of fresh salsa, with just a hint of heat. My wife had a Chicken Burrito Mexicano. I a rack of 3 taco's. Both were more than we could eat. I especially liked the refried beans and rice that was on the side of the taco's. My wife is in love with the burritos. Service was prompt, and we had our meal within ten minutes of the order. There are at least 3 mexican restaurants in town, We think this is the best. Conviently located across from The Central Hotel. So if you are in town for the trail, and you like Mexican food, this is a must visit. read more

Our first time here in years. Pleasantly surprised. Our server was pleasant and fast. Food was very good We will be back read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Called ahead to order chips, queso and salsa. No food you have to cook. I was told 5 minutes. Got there 10 minutes later. Waited 25 minutes in the restaurant for chips and salsa. They first came out with the wrong order. Then they came out a second time with items missing and things I did not order. Gave my card to pay. Waited 8 minutes just to check out. Then they didn't give my card back and had to wait for them to come back to the front to ask for my card back. Will NOT be back. Update: Queso is not warm and is solid in the middle of the container. Ridiculous. read more

Went there last night, food was really good, guacamole was super fresh made. Also had some margaritas very tasty. Waitress was very professional Definitely going back read more

Food is overpriced, small portions, and didn't get our order correct offered no resolution

This was a great find we saw driving to our Airbnb horse ranch just 8 miles away. The menu is very diversified, many Mexican restaurant staples but enough creativity to make think that sound a great. I had a very delightful asada 3 taco plate and the cup of soup that is actually a bowl of soup so buyer beware they give large portions of soup. read more

we went as a party of twelve. the service was terrible. we waiting a long time to place orders, food was good but they charged me for lemons. four out of six checks were wrong and the server had a bad attitude read more

The food was wonderful! Plus, the portions was enormous and very filling.Since I was a visitor to town , I ask someone for a Mexican restaurant. I was told where and that it was very good. Thanks to the "Local kind gentleman" we were pleasantly pleased with food, service, and prices. read more

First time here. Service was spot on. Great variety on the menu. We ordered the enchiladas and the shrimp bowl. Both were excellent- very fresh tasting ingredients. My disappointment in many Mexican restaurants is that all the menu offerings are made with similar ingredients. Not so here. Lots of choices. Appreciated the cleanliness of our booth. Delicious warmed complimentary chips with salsa. read more

Always a good pleasant place to dine. Food is consistent. Booths are private. Just an overall good experience everytime. read more

Sad, we found a place that wore masks, now no longer do they wear masks. We feel that they no longer care about their patrons. COVID is getting worse in citrus county, why would you discontinue wearing masks? read more

My wife and I are very disappointed. We just got fajitas to go from the Inverness location and we got home only to see that there is no guacamole! It would be one thing if we were dine-in patrons where we could ask our waitress to bring us our guacamole, but that isn't an option for us. PAY ATTENTION - you are losing customers due to your lack of attention to detail! As for what we DID get, the shrimp were properly cooked and well seasoned. We were disappointed by their use of tiny (6") tortillas. They are much too small for a proper fajita. The tiny dollop of sour cream was placed on top of the lettuce instead of being put in a small container so that I could decide where to use it. Thankfully we have some at home. Swing and a miss - I doubt we'll be back. read more

Service is good. But not authentic food. It's just your typical Mexican/American style restaurant.

Awesome place. Our go to! Great menu and service! The Best Guacamole ever! Small and focused

Great food, friendly staff. I've ordered plenty to go orders and Uber and the food is always fresh and delivered hot.

Since the name change, food and service has gone down hill. They don't make their drinks the same either

My favorite here, we always enjoy dining inn. The servers know what they are serving. Nothing worse than getting an "I don't know. Restroom always clean and stocked. Had to wait one time about 20 min longer that the normal but because of our prior experiences it was easily over looked plus the waiter gave us complimentary taco salad to share like a appitizer. Always a win for us. Guaranteed a happy full belly. read more

Best shredded beef chimichanga I have had in area. Staff are really responsive and polite. Prices reasonable.

Excellent food! I wish the online menu were more thorough for takeout orders. Also wish they had outside patio dining.

It's now called Los Compardes ... not the same. The service was excellent. The food was horrible. I'm not a picky eater and will eat almost anything... I could not eat the Texans Fajitas... barf. read more

Apparently bones in your chimichangas is normal and no big deal at this place. Wait staff was incredibly dismissive when we asked him to let the kitchen staff know there was a bone in the food. It would have been a completely different experience if the waiter had apologized or shown any concern about the bone. He basically shrugged it off as nothing. This tells me that they do not care about customer's safety. If a child had been eating that chimichanga, he could have choked. read more

Food is good but service is less than desirable. What happened????Last year it was great service and food. But came last week and the Margaritas were so watered down....not sure I will be back.... Wow! What a nice surprise! This place is fantastic. Our server Tajma was helpful, on the ball and a great waitress. The food was absolutely divine. Meals were actually seasoned and spiced nicely. So far, FL Mexican food has been flavorless. Not this place. They'd better give that cook a raise! He knows what he's doing! read more

We dined there twice since recently moving here. The food we chose was very good. Servings sizes amble. If I were to have a disappointment, it would be the nacho chips. Thick & hard. Eatable with their good salsa. Just not my preference. read more

They have changed their name to Los Compadres Mexican Grill. Absolutely amazing food! We ordered their street tacos and they were oh-so-good! I had the carnitas street tacos and the meat was so well flavored they didn't need a sauce (but beware the sauce they give on the side is extremely hot). Fantastic, creamy beans and rice come with it. Their salsa - the one they put on the table with tortilla chips - is out of this world good. And very friendly service. I want to come back! If you like Mexican food and are in Inverness, make sure to stop in here. read more

The habanaro salsa is very hot. I like it that way. You have to ask for this hot salsa to get it. The Pina Loca ($18) was very yummy and unique. I have never had it before. The Grande Special ($15) was average. The guacamole dip ($4) was good. The plastic staws ( yey, I hate paper) are too short for the glasses. I would rather have better napkins. The ones given were a little skimpy. The service was average. read more

I should have known better when I didn't see any Mexicans working there! To start with, the waitress brought the wrong orders out to us. We didn't realize it until we started eating. When I told the waitress, she had no idea, even though the entree I ordered looked completely different than the one that was brought out to me. She then brought me the item I ordered. I got to sample the cheese quesadilla, quesadilla rellena, beans, and rice. It was all pretty bad! I'm sticking with the authentic restaurants from now on. read more

This will be our last visit to Habaneros. We wanted to eat outside on the patio .. the outside tables with umbrellas are metal, rusted, and dirty. There was no one outside, so asked the wait staff if they had place mats to put on the tables and was told 'no'. We ate inside, early afternoon .. the food was served warm (not hot) and my companion who had ordered fajitas received it warm on a platter (not sizzling in a pan).. Never had fajitas delivered this way in the many many Mexican restaurants in which we have eaten. We are both from the southwest and were very disappointed in the presentation ... the chips were very good, the salsa was good .. the staff was good .. the margaritas had very little tequila in them ... altogether a disappointing meal. We won't be back. read more

I asked the waiter if what I ordered was really spicy. He said no it wasn't. Had to double check our order three time. Well it was very spicy. The food was good otherwise. I asked for some sour cream to counteract the spiciness. Brought a bowl of sour cream and was double charged $3.25 for it. Had to keep calling for our waiter for drinks, to go box, check. Manager had " I don't care" attitude. First time, last time. read more

Chips and salsa were very good, server was very pleasant, he even held the door when we arrived because I was on a scooter because of a broken leg. Helped us get settled at our table and even moved the scooter. Back to the food and beer. We both ordered a large Negro Modelo and you get your monies worth! I ordered the Fiesta Bowl with chicken. Large portion and if you are into black beans lots of those. My husband ordered the Super Burrito but wanted it with ground beef but came with shredded beef (it was tough and too thick). Even that being said we would return again. read more

I was really excited to try this place based on the stellar reviews. But sadly, Habaneros didn't live up to the hype. Habaneros is very cute inside with lots of spacious booths. Our waitress was very nice and visited our table promptly to get our drink orders and bring us a basket of warm chips and house made salsa. The chips were pretty yummy and the salsa tasted fresh but was very mild. I ordered a plate with an enchilada, a burrito, and a chile relleno. I wasn't asked what kind I wanted (or maybe there is no choice?) but they were all ground beef. The enchilada was the best of the bunch. The very bland beef filling was saved by the corn tortilla and the enchilada sauce which added a little flavor. The burrito had a red sauce on top that had a sour unbalanced flavor. And finally, the same tame beef filled the pepper of my chile relleno. Unlike any other relleno I've ever had it was not battered and fried. Actually it was barely baked so it was crisp tender and watery. No bueno! I'm hoping dessert will save the day! We ordered the cheesecake chimichanga and the triple cappuccino mousse. Our waitress just came back to let us know they were out of the cappuccino dessert. The cheesecake chimi was pretty tasty and a nice way to round out the meal. We'll probably come back to try something else to give the a fair shake. read more

Maybe we went on a good night, our service, and food was top notch! Very tasty, Guacamole was superb, chips were fresh & hot. I wasn't crazy about the salsa, although it wasn't bad, I just prefer fresh & chunky salsa. Our experience was a good one, we will definitely be back! There are not a lot of choices in Citrus County, especially for Mexican food, and we have tried pretty much all of them...out of the ones we have tried, Habanero's is the go to one for us, hands down! :) I would also like to mention that the entire staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean...no complaints here! :D read more

This place is brand new to our area -- food was delicious and reasonably priced .. they bring out home made salsa and warm chips -- really like the salsa not a spice person this was mild but you can request hot.. guacamole was delicious . I had the lunch special with taco and enchilada and Spanish rice which was very tasty hubby had the same meal but with burrito . The sauce was delicious on the burrito and enchilada very mild -- for all you has to be spicy they have hot sauce on the table . I would recommend and defiantly eat here again -- next time I'll try a frozen margarita read more
