Holy Guacamole! Fresh Tableside Guacamole may be the best thing I have ever seen. It was SOOOO good! I got the chicken enchilada with rice and beans and my husband got the steak fajitas. I had a peach margarita and my husband had a regular, both on the rocks. It must use a great tequila because it was one of the best ones we've had. Everything was delicious. Another Sunday Golfers' lunch Today, the Sunday golfers had lunch at Campo Azul Mexican Kitchen in Summerfield, FL. I made the reservations for 14 people. The reservation is for noon, and I normally arrive 30 minutes ahead of time to ensure the table is setup correctly and ready for the Sunday golfers. My spouse and I arrived and Dulce our soon to be server greeted us. I introduced myself and said I have a reservation for 14 people. They were expecting us, but nothing was setup yet. Soon, she called the other servers to help her setup the table for 14. The restaurant was beautiful inside. The paintings the color of the walls remind you of Mexico. As each golfer arrived, Dulce took the order for their drinks and then asked if anyone wanted appetizers. Then followed with each person for our entrée orders. Amazingly, she got everything correctly. My food was delicious. I had a dish with an octopus over grilled vegetables. I'm always cautious with octopus because not everyone can cook an octopus correctly without making it chewy. The octopus was indeed cooked and seasoned correctly. I had no regrets with ordering this dish. It was delicious! I would order it again when I return to the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I don't think we waited long for our entrées especially with 14 people. Dulce did a wonderful job serving our table. To the manager of Campo Azul Mexican Kitchen, bravo! This place was a good find! We were greeted and sat upon arrival. Chips and salsa brought to the table within seconds. They even offer table side guacamole! Our drink order was taken within in a few minutes! Highly recommend the house margarita! Delicious!! Our server was amazing super friendly and welcoming. My family and I dined in for dinner today with some friends. We ordered the table side guac and queso for starters. Guac was great, not much you can mess up there. Queso was mediocre and lukewarm. For our main dishes we ordered quesa birria tacos and that came with rice and beans, carne asada, steak tacos and a single tamal. The carne asada ($15) came with three tacos. The meat was very chewy and the tortillas were stale. The plate was extra hot, the food was lukewarm warm ( oddly). The Birria tacos ($15) came with three tacos and consume. The tacos were fine, but overly salty and so was the consume - tasted allot like bullion. The steak tacos were the same story as the asada except they came with cheese and lettuce. The tamal was FAR from what I expected. Tamal is suppose to be served with or without a husk, not sauced and covered with sauce and cheese. If you are looking for an Americanized Mexican Resturant then this is probably a spot you would enjoy. But if you are looking for simple and authentic Mexican dishes then this place is not for you. read more

We've been a number of times and have had vastly varying experiences. The service is pretty good and the ambiance is reasonable. The food is where we've had the most variance with experience. The first time was pretty decent - some of us really enjoyed the food where others thought it was okay. After going back a couple more times, it felt like the food went downhill to the point where the last time we were there, two of us had bad salmon. I tried to push through but couldn't finish it. It was clear there was something wrong with it. Sure enough, I had a bad night afterwards. They took the salmon dinners off our bill, but we were charged for our drinks; that was a bit tacky but I guess restaurants have a tough time with making ends meet these days. We likely won't be going back because of the last experience there. read more

We order an appetizer, "The Volcano Cheese Dip", its presentation was not what was originally pictured. It was on a flat hot plate and lacked flavor. I ordered the "Super Burrito w/ Chicken" and my wife ordered the "Alhambra Shrimp" again the ingredients lacked flavor. It is a safe place to eat for Mexican fare. For us nothing fabulous, but nothing atrocious so we're giving Campo Azul a middle rating. Why? Seated and greeted immediately. Table side guacamole was offered but we stayed with complimentary chips & salsa (mild) Food prices were good - there's a whole page of lunch specials. We tried #1 chili rellanos and #4 enchilada. Pepper was huge, but the layer of breading was over 1/4" thick all around (too much). I was expecting a mole or red sauce on pepper but it was verde (green)That portion of dish was hot, but the refried beans were lukewarm and had a heavy chili powder taste to them (a bit off putting to me). Meat taco was boring and crispy taco shell quickly went limp. While dining area has been completely refurbished from old seafood establishment, the new furniture is very tight - both in the sense of comfort as well as spacing. Padding on backs thick which shortens seat. And 3 chairs touching side by side gives middle seat diner no room to maneuver.
