I wanted a new place for lunch on Sunday, and I found myself out this way, so I stopped in to Tequila Garden. Its light and airy on the inside, but I asked to be seated in their outside garden area as it's one of those rare days in florida, perfect, 80°, light breeze and sunshine. My waitres was young but really efficient and correct. I ordered Guacamole for my chips, i had steak/chicken fajitas and an iced tea. The food was very good. Wanted to like this place because the atmosphere and hype made it seem promising, but overall it was disappointing. The margarita was actually pretty decent, probably the best part of the experience. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. The chips and salsa didn't taste fresh, and the birria was far from authentic. If you're looking for real Mexican food, this probably isn't the spot. Not sure where all the hype comes from honestly. The presentation looks good, but the flavor and authenticity just weren't there for me. Friendly wait staff though. read more

Overall an enjoyable experience. The interior is beautifully decorated - worthy of a celebration location. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was flavorful and arrived to our table quickly. I appreciated the variety on the menu -- something for everyone. I also appreciated the willingness to adjust the tortillas to lettuce wraps for a low carb option... something simple but made a big difference to our experience. We went for lunch and had a very good experience. Aly was our server and she did an excellent job. The Cadillac margarita was outstanding. I had the chicken enchilada with mole sauce I got that because you can't find it at most local Mexican restaurants. It was very good. They have a coffee and pastry shop with espresso machine. We have been wanting to try this New Mexican restaurant out but they are always busy. Decided to go and wait if needed. Walked in and was seated right away. Waitress came and took our order. Within 5 minutes we had out meal. I have the Burrito Mexicano - 2 burritos one with shrimp and one with steak. The steak was very tender and delicious. The shrimp was cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning. Hubby had the same but one with chicken and one with steak. No complaints. Atmosphere was popping. Wow! This new restaurant has replaced my old memories of Golden Corral, it is beautiful inside. We sat at the bar and Gaby could not have been by been more helpful and knowledgeable about there menu and options. She was attentive and ready to serve. The spicy margarita lived up to its name as I've rarely found a place where the margarita fits the term spicy. Food came out very quick and it was delicious. Tequila Garden gets a solid 10/10 from us tonight. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The guacamole was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the enchiladas were rich and satisfying, and the tacos were packed with flavor. The sides and sauces really pulled everything together and made each dish stand out. The margaritas were just as impressive--large, refreshing, and well-balanced. On top of the food, the atmosphere was inviting and the service made the experience even better. It's the kind of place you can enjoy a great meal and genuinely relax. TLDR; spicy marg too spicy, yummy Mexican food. Aesthetic. Very cute restaurant open for a few weeks. Just happened to be in the area and wanted a little drinky drink. 2 folks walked in before me and were told there's a 20 minute wait or they could sit at the bar.. bar it is for me. I ordered the spicy margarita and let me tell you.. this spicy margarita is 10x spicier than any other spicy margarita you've had. Maybe they were trolling me and added 7 jalapeños and their seeds and their juices but holy moly. I've had a spicy marg before but that's crazy. I had to have my server sweeten it, and she added agave and lime and that made it a bit more bareable but still holyyyy cow. Decided to grab a bite to make it more bearable and got birria tacos. Yummy. I'll be honest, I think it's hard to mess up Mexican food so this is good enough for me, just.. you can get just as good for cheaper. It was pretty busy so even sitting at the bar I barely saw my server so that's where the 3 stars comes from tbh. Tequila Garden is exactly what this area needed. The food was amazing, especially the chicken chile relleno, and we loved the beef tacos, steak enchiladas, chips and salsa, and churros. Service was excellent, very attentive and efficient for a new restaurant, and we were seated quickly even with limited hours and lots of people. The ambience is vibrant and modern, totally different from anything else nearby, and I really appreciate that they are opening slowly to train their staff the right way. Highly recommend Tequila Garden and especially the chile relleno, and I am excited to go back and try more of the menu! read more

Very disappointing. We went on a Saturday, mid-day, and were told there is no lunch on Saturday, only brunch, which was a very limited menu. Then were told that Huevos Rancheros were unavailable during brunch. Who ever heard of a Mexican brunch where eggs are unavailable? We ordered enchiladas and fajitas instead. Both were lukewarm and bland. The sides were equally unappealing. This is not authentic Mexican food at all, it was comparable to frozen fare from the supermarket. There were more disappointments (terrible salsa, etc) but I'm forced to give them one star. read more

The room is very beautiful especially the glass bar area. They off a separate coffee location with sweets if you're in a hurry. We had shredded chicken burrito and 3 enchiladas. They were delicious, especially my white queso. Staff were friendly. We look forward to going back soon! read more

Wow! What a find! Brand new restaurant a little outside of DT Inverness on Hwy 41. It's only been up and running for 3-4 months. Really good food with hefty portions. Acoustics, unfortunately were not good, cement walls and cement floors. We had to shout to each other to talk. But we would come back again for the great food. read more

Had to edit my review. What a difference a month makes, unfortunately. Sit at the bar, wait.. wait.. ask for menu, decide what I want, wait.. wait.. wait.. wait.. finally ask bartender 'who am I supposed to place an order with' and sends someone else over. I select corn tortillas instead of flour, but flour arrives with meal. I wait, and eventually tell them. Could be just an oops. She looks at them and asks a server to get corn, moments later the same thing is delivered, but this time I'm told when they heat them up they change color. Seriously?! Well then that answer should've applied the first time. But, I've never seen nor heard of corn tortillas that are white as flour tortillas. This experience was VASTLY different than my first experience; perhaps I just got lucky on first trip. I re-reviewed the menu while there, pricey for what you get. $21 for some diced chicken (about 3 mayyyybe 4 oz) with refried beans & rice, when that meal shoulda been more like $14-15. Then I learned the place is a 'chain' restaurant, so that explains quite a bit. I may give them a 3rd try, but only because it's very close to the house. Oh well, back on the hunt for good food at a reasonable price, and preferably a genuine 'family owned' place. I HATE chain restaurants. read more

Great news place but they are still working out the kinks. Food was great, I had the garden bowl which was super fresh and delicious. Hubby had Berra tacos which he loved. He also had Chile Relleno which he said was very bland and would not get that again. Forget what else we got but it was good. My husband and I are originally from Texas and eat Mexican in Texas and Mexico constantly. We are hard to please and have not found decent Mexican food in the Citrus Hills area until Tequila Garden. We have eaten here 7 times since they opened. The first 5 times they were newly opened and the service and margaritas were strong. The past 2 times we visited here was this week and I can say with absolute certainty the margaritas are less strong and just much more sweet. I ordered an extra shot of tequila to be added to my classic frozen margarita these past two visits ( sad face here). The beef fajita meat is the most tender and tasty around. The queso could be served at a hotter temperature and is usually cold by the time I dip my chips in it. However, the chips and fresh guacamole are amazing and we've had chimichangas, fajitas, chile rellenos, tamales, and tacos that are all the best in town. If the owner is reading this, I would suggest pictures and things on the wall to help absorb the sound. It often feels like a cafeteria and is very noisy, because there's not much absorbing the sound. My husband and I would eat them more often, but with the cafeteria noise, it makes it less appealing. All in all, do you think the food is the best Mexican food in the Citrus Hills area. I only wish the atmosphere was less noisy and did not sound like a cafeteria. read more

We have been four times since they opened and the food has been exceptional. other than one instance service has been great as well. Really love being able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and the music in the background. The guacamole is some of the best we ever had and you have to try the churros for dessert! read more

My husband and I went for dinner this evening. The decor is good for a Mexican restaurant. The acoustics are awful. It is so loud you cannot have conversations at your table.
