It's a rather unassuming little place, but the inside felt cozy and welcoming. They have beautiful stained glass lampshades that create a cheerful ambiance, and the walls are festooned with images relating to Cuban culture. We were greeted and helped by a really kind and friendly fellow who was happy to explain a couple menu options we had questions about. We ordered an empanada, tostones, and a Cubano sandwich with a side of sweet plantains. It was all amazing! My favorite item was actually the tostones. I adore savory plantains, and I think these were the best I've ever had. We'd had Cubano sandwiches before, but this one was next level. The empanada was delightful. And we also got these delicious little dipping sauces that paired perfectly. I need to ask about those sauces next time. I haven't had enough Cuban food to give an opinion on "authenticity", but I can tell you everything we had was tasty as hell. The guy who helped us took a great deal of pride in talking about the unique aspects of Cuban cuisine, so I'm willing to bet it's as authentic as you can find in Oregon. It impressed us enough that I can only assume this will be a regular stop for us in Bend; my boyfriend was already talking about what he wanted to try "next time". And I'm researching how to try to recreate those tostones at home in the meantime!

There is a big difference. I went here with a few friends, and was immediately greeted by a kind hostess and a very attentive waitress. The restaurant appeared to be clean and there were quite a few people enjoying their meals. The restaurant was not overly crowded and was not too loud which made for good conversation at our table. When I picked up the menu, I immediately noticed the Yucatán style menu. This is important because it's not Mexico style cooking. Yukatán food is often more vibrant, with more spices, and more intense flavors. I got the Arrachera, which is a grilled skirt steak. It was wonderful. Perfectly spiced, and perfectly cooked. The rice was OK, but honestly I've never been a fan of Yucatán style rice, but the beans were not my favorite. For refried beans, they really did lack flavor and I felt like they were trying to make them taste better by the extra cheese they added to them. Of course the guacamole and the pico de gallo were perfect. All in all, this is a pretty good place. Again, it's just probably not what most people are used to when they think of Mexican food.

Loved the update here!…read more Super yummy new menu items! I came with some family and odered the Chips and salsa, Carne asada bowl, and steak tacos. The chips were fantastic! Salsas and guacamole were equally delicious, just a bit of a smaller portion for four people. The Carne asada bowl was huge!!! I shared it and still had some left after I was finished eating! The flowers combined very well and I loved the freshness of the produce! I didn't personally try the steak tacos but I heard that the meat was very juicy, and the flavors really danced! We were also greeted with a free dessert! Flan! Super thoughtful and unexpected! Unfortunately I have to say that it certainly wasn't the best flan I've ever had. But it was free so it was good! :D Our service was top notch! Super personal and friendly approach! Very attentive and kind from all staff! I'd also like to mention that the bathrooms are incredible! I loved the mirrors! (Wish I knew where I could buy one) Altogether we had a delightful experience on all ends! The only thing I would look forward to would be if a few more menu items were added. Perhaps a few more chicken and vegetarian options? I will definitely be returning the next time I'm over in The beaver state!

Arriving after 6 pm , place was busy but there were still enough seating for us. Both , my wife and I were tired and very hungry from our 3 hour trip. There aren't many choices for vegetarians but my wife found the Huevos Rancheros. Fried eggs served on a crispy tortilla with refried beans, topped with warm salsa Red or Green. Chopped fresh cilantro, queso fresco, drizzled with sour cream and avocado slices... Her first experience eating the Huevos Rancheros was a good one. Very tasty . Just a little too much salsa. The dish was swimming in it. I had the Carnitas de Puerco. Slow simmered pork, quickly fried at the end. Served with arroz mexicano, refried beans, queso fresco, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, tortillas a mano. True Mexican Cuisine. This Chef's mother's recipe is a must have... I like the little tortillas where you can put nice bites of carnitas, rice and beans, and guacamole all in one . Very flavorful. The carnitas is moist and extremely tender. Our waitris was informative, friendly, and gave us great service. Glad to have another great Mexican restaurant in the area.

There was only one server who also doubled as the bartender. She was pretty amazing in that she was handling everything and took our orders (there were four of us) without writing anything down. I figured "no way" our orders would come out correct. She proved me wrong, that's for sure. Everything was perfect and exactly as ordered. I had a burrito/enchilada plate and it was fine but not outstanding. I've had better similar orders at other places in the Central Oregon area. Others at my table loved their orders which consisted of pork chops and tacos. I will say the jalapeño margarita was the best I have ever had. Comfortable place but it is pretty small.
