Giving this place 4 Stars "not for the food" but for the Service that was very good, with friendly staff. There is plenty of seating inside and as one reviewer stated it looked more like a cafeteria, but we came here because friends come here all the time and we all went out for dinner. One Note: the Ladies Room was very clean and that is a plus for me. Now for the food: the Chips were warm and Salsa was delicious, so was the Guamole made fresh at the table. We also ordered a pitcher of Red Sangria that was delicious. However, my Steak Fajitas de Bistec (green pepper, onions, and mushrooms) was just OK because the quality of meat was cheap and very thin. I thought it was strange that they served the Soft Tocos (4) in Aluminum Foil - what happened to the small Toco dish with the lid holding the Soft Tocos to keep them warm, that would have been more professional looking especially for a Mexican Restaurant. The beans that came with my Fajitas tasted good, but very unappetizing looking. All and all, we enjoyed the night out with our friends, but next time we will be picking the restaurant. read more

Have been enjoying Los Abuelos for a couple years now. We love the 'kitchen table' feel both places have. Always happy with the Cubana sandwich, Chicken Chimichanga, and sopas. Came here with friends. Probably the WORST Mexican food I've ever had. Tasted like an Easy Baked Oven dish.

I came here with a friend last night, and I will be back. I finally decided on the huevos rancheros after scaling over the very extensive menu. I am a HUGE fan of Mexican food, and I was very impressed with their menu; they have a little bit of everything, plus you can get breakfast! That's a huge + in my book. Anyway, my huevos were very good, except they were covered in the spicy red sauce, something I've never seen before. It was tasty nonetheless, but usually they're smothered in refried beans. The beans were on the side though, with nice Spanish style rice. I think next time I'll try the chilaquiles in green sauce. For $9.50, I got a huge plate of food, and I had a margarita straight up, which was $9. It wasn't the best marg, but it hit the spot, and the glass was rimmed with red and green; cute! Service was terrible I ordered food they brought me the wrong order I called them to Notify them that the order was wrong , they said that they will send someone with the my right order, but no one showed up , I called them 3 times that night and no picked up I went the following day to drop off the order that they!! got wrong, and they said that they can't neither give me my money back or fix my order. We went there for my birthday. We had 14 people including children. 1st of all they take reservations! Hallelujah. Called the night before and made reservations and they checked with me again the next day. When we arrived, they had a table all set up for us and two wait staff ready to take our orders. They were just great! When everyone got there and ordered the food was out really quick. The wait staff was very attentive and food was excellent. I'm not sure what some of the other comments are talking about, Los Abuelos is an amazing and authentic restaurant. If you want real Mexican food, that's also cheap, this is the place to go. Los Abuelos is my go to restaurant, and one of my favorites in Northern Westchester. Not to mention it is significantly better than virtually all other Mexican restaurants within a 10 mile radius. The enchiladas are absolutely amazing, and so are the cemitas. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I would recommend any dish that has pork in it. read more

Me and my boyfriend ordered online for lunch today and the food came to my door so fresh and still warm. My chimichanga was still nice and crunchy and the guac tasted like it was just mashed right before getting here. The food was very well seasoned and tasted great. This is my second time ordering delivery, I was pleased the first time. But tonight exceeded my expectations. Their fried chicken wings appetizer was so crisp! Their Cheeseburger tasted like it was flame broiled ! I ordered Carne Asada for my husband, the skirt steak was grilled perfectly. My sons kids chicken fingers got a thumbs up too. Only draw back was the fries were cold, but hey even bringing home fries from the local drive thru at McDonalds don't guarantee hot fries by the time you get home. Have been to Los Abuelos several times, including it's Grand Opening. That first night was hectic and confusing and though the food was good, I wasn't impressed. LOUD LOUD music is not my idea of a pleasant dinner. That was then. This is now. They have their act very well put together. The food (and drinks) are excellent, fresh, nice sized portions and reasonably priced. The wait staff is excellent, there when you need them without being annoying. There's a nice outdoor seating area and the restaurant decor is pleasant. The music is still there, but at a normal level. The friends that have joined us there also enjoyed their experiences. read more

I've seen employees use the bathroom and made me wonder how they washed their hands. I made sure I had at least a small drop of soap on my hands. read more

Service was TER - RI - BLE!!! They pretty much ignored us the whole time we were there. Don't sit outside or they'll ignore you too! I had the pechuga de pollo rellena. It was drowning in hot sauce. You couldn't taste anything but the hot sauce. We were almost finished eating what we could digest when they FINALLY remembered to bring us the tortillas that were part of the meal. This place is great. Ive gone to many "mexican" restaurants and this definitely is a real mexican meal. Most mexican american places are not that great but this feels right at home. The drinks are a little strong but other than that the food is great. I recommend EVERYTHING. Especially anything with carne asada. I hope people enjoy this place service is always 100%. read more

I work in the area now and it's disappointing that I can't find a place I love yet. Tacos are very bland with no flavor. Chicken quality seem like just OK. Extra charge for some lettuce tomatoes and cheese. I worked in the food business. That probably costs them a nickel... maybe. I'll try something else maybe and see how it goes. read more

First time here, smelled delicious upon entering, the atmosphere was open and airy. Pleasant feel. The red sangraría was perfect. The guacamole was made fresh, served with fresh chips. ordered the pork burrito which was very tasty, as well as the shrimp and steak The waitress was very nice and quick to take our order. Really good authentic cuisine. I grew up on this food and can vouch for its authenticity. The chips before the meal is Americanized Mexican, but that's only a minor gripe. The only issue I have is with the sometimes bland quality of the salsas. But my guess it's that the overall spiciness has been adjusted for East Coast USA tastebuds. Heard great things about this place, but was extremely disappointed! First off, the waitress told us there wasn't complimentary salsa and chips in the hopes of getting our table to order an appetizer. Once we got the chips and salsa, she was in a rush to take our drink order, which we then waited way longer than we should have for. When it came time to ordering our meals, my fiancé ordered Tortas and I ordered Veggie Fajitas. The waitress didn't bother telling us they were out of the bread to make Tortas, but instead just took it upon herself to change his order to Tostadas. Once we got our food we tried explaining to her that this isn't what we ordered, and instead of apologizing, she maintained that we asked for Tostadas. The next waitress came and listened to what happened, and said that the first waitress was just "confused". This entire conversation and explanation led to our food getting cold, and the waitress still refused to accept her mistake and correct the fact that she messed up. We then asked for more salsa with our chips, and were rudely told that we would have to pay for more salsa. The food itself would have been fine, but the waitress and staff make the whole experience horrible! Would never return again, despite the restaurant making a mistake, our table was constantly ignored and when they did pay attention to what we needed, it seemed like they purposely took their time. Definitely would recommend any other restaurant over this place! read more

This was recently purchased by new owners and renamed. Our first time here we got the sampler appetizer. It was really good but we could've done without the mozzarella sticks or chicken fingers that didn't seem to be authentic Mexican. Beef huaraches and shrimp tacos were really good...the homemade tortilla was delicious. Good portion size and fair price. Based on this experience I would put this on par with the food at Guadalajara down the road. We even caught a little performance of a couple Mexican guitarist/singers on our way out the sounded great. Hope they get more business since it was quiet! read more
