I've been wanting to try out Terra Rustica, so before my son headed back to college we went for the last hurrah dinner with the family. Hostess was very friendly and seated us immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive at the beginning, but after we got our entrees we didn't see him again until we were looking for him to bring us our check. Our appetizers (fried zucchini and caesar salad were very good. Our entree portions were good. I was telling my husband that I was sure that my entree should have clams in it, but it didn't and I couldn't find our server. I checked the menu again when I got home and sure enough it should have. Food was good, but service was spotty and my entree was missing the clams!

    Chicken quesadillas. Excellent

So we're up here peeking at the footage up on the Taconic and Route 9A. Many trees are brown but thankfully there are stunning exceptions. We come upon on this place a decide to get early dinner. I order the chicken quesadillas. They come and they are huge. My friend ordered starting with lentil soup which was hearty and robust. Then the fish Del Amore halibut and he was disappointed. It was dry and overcooked. Sorry to have to say it! Because the waiters were great and attentive. Well it was a nice venue, especially sitting in the atrium area

I Also noticed she brought bread to the one table and just ignored the rest. Food was very confusing. The seafood chowder was decent, the rest was just terrible. My meal consisted of three fried pieces of eggplant and about 1/2 pound of salad mix thrown on the top.. There is no ambiance. This is basically a french dive bar with a patio. Inside is old, dated, and esthetically bland. The aged outdoor chairs are basically gargoyle warning of the dread that lies within. This place is why I love restaurant week. I would not pay full price for a meal here.. Travelers beware..

When we first walked into the restaurant, it struck me more like a bar with tables as it didn't have some of the French influences that I'm used to in the past at other restaurants. We were the only two patrons inside the restaurant granted it was 3:30 on a Sunday. The waiters were very warm, welcoming and pleasant. Both my Guest and I ordered the French onion soup to start. The soup was slightly above warm but not hot considering there was a chill in the area I thought this would be the remedy to regulate our temperatures. Immediately after our soup was taken away we receive our meals, no time wasted. My Croque Monsieur was okay, the taste of the ham and cheese was reasonable, but the bread used was kind of tough and challenging to bite, to separate a bite size amount, I was moved to using a fork and a serrated knife and that made it a little easier. We both had a little bit higher expectations for a French restaurant that met some of our needs, but not all. JTL

The centerpiece of this restaurant in my opinion is the beautiful horse shoe shaped bar in the middle of the restaurant. I typically enjoy a nice clean and clear bar so you can fall into the feeling of the restaurant and see what is happening all around. This bar had bottles of wines lining the bar, in my opinion I would remove the bottles and allow for a more open feel. Personally I felt that the bottles created a barrier between me and the bar tender. The outside tables are tables typically for 2 or 4 people with banquet seating and then chairs. Oh, my God How's this boy treating you? Very good wonderful started The service was attentive but not over bearing which created a relaxed feeling.. I was looking for a wine and cheese bar for a night our for myself. I wanted a place that I have not been to before and yelp directed me here Wines on Aug range from 15 and up for a glass which is not outrageous in price. They had a nice selection of wines and I stepped out of ny own comfort zone of a cab and tried the house Pinot Noir accompanied by the B6 board. Overall I was satisfied with the meat and cheese selection and baguette that was served with it had a nice oil on it. Presentation was well done with one exception in my mind, the breads ticks came in a package. Presentation factor went down with that. Take one of the small wife carafe used to serve the wine and present it in that. Overall I felt something was missing but could not put my finger on it. Overall this place has a great date night vibe.

I own a mule, his name is Pacchero. He's 800 lbs. I explore traditions through my mouth, my tongue, my esophagus. I try Georgian food on a Saturday at 3PM just because, why not? Hopefully Russ Westbrook and his Ninja Turtle buddies don't come fine me for the trademark steal. Oh well, I'm cultured (or so they say) and THEY can't stop me. Badageoni, in the Kisc, has a very nice interior. A bar, deep sea of tables and a nice overall darkish vibe. Right downtown, on a corner, where the greats are made. Little stick ball with Willie Mays, don't say no. Say hey, kid. I'm inexperienced in Georgian cuisine, and mildly unfamiliar but relatively familiar with their history and livelihood. I have a few Georgian acquaintances and friends. Good people. Princes, princesses from what I hear. And I recall hearing of Khinkali through these winding and never ending channels that seem to lead their way through or to me. Life. What a thing. So I got an order and some Ojakhuri as well. I feel spectacular just typing these Georgian words out. Who do I think I am? Anyways. The Ojakhuri was actually solid, tasteful BUT it seemed like something I'd rather make at home rather than order from a restaurant and that's my overall takeaway from my trip and is why I tossed 4 instead of 5 stars. However. I love dumplings. I love dumplings from every and from all cultures. I need a second go to confirm, but I believe (HOT TAKE ALERT) Khinkali are the superior form of dumpling on the planet. Yes, I did say that. I have some more ethnic dumplings to try but this has taken a big jump on the list to number 1. I've never been to Antarctica, who knows what type of dumplings the polar bears are hiding. And before you lose your minds on me, it's a joke. It is an ***** joke. I know Polar Bears aren't in Antarctica, do you think I'm that much of a bottom feeder? Geez you guys need to give me a break - take me with a grain of salt and sprinkle on some pepper.
