The menu covers all the bases of what you could want for brunch food, and they even have pretty extensive vegan and gluten-free menus. I got the vegan strawberry French toast. It was alright but a bit lacking in the custardiness that I like in French toast. But I'm not going to be too critical since I was happy they had vegan French toast at all. I had a zero proof aperitivo spritz to drink, which I was impressed by because it really tasted like the alcoholic version! The atmosphere was nice. I would describe the design as modern and urban but not cold or pretentious. We got sat in a big corner booth which was large for two people but very comfortable.

It was so delicious. They had toasted coconut on the rim that was delicious!! Would highly recommend it. It was also not too sweet. For breakfast I got their healthy white omelet which came with avocado, cheese, pesto, mushrooms, and baby spinach. Also a side of roasted potatoes. I LOVED IT! It was healthy, filling and delicious. Their service was pretty quick as well! Very nice spot for a quick and casual brunch date :)

The sweet brunch items also look really good but I think it wouldn't be my first choice if it wasn't for their gluten free options.

On the table: Brunch Waffle Crepe du Matin Sunny Dish Even though I wasn't the one who ordered a crepe, I am still delighted to know that they offer crepe at this restaurant. I feel there is a shortage of crepes and wish there were more places that served crepe. I will definitely order a crepe on one of my future visits. I went with the Sunny Dish this time in an effort to go low carb and have more room for dinner in the evening. It was a great option and I think my favourite part of the dish is the avocado. It's just always so satisfying to see lovely, green avocado on my plate as avocado tends to go brown quite easily when we have them at home in our kitchen. It's also tasty, healthy and filling...The filling part matters when avoiding filler foods such as pancakes, bread, potatoes...etc. This is such a great place for brunch and really becoming quite a favourite for us now!

What is irritatingly stupefying here is that there is a Persian Bakery right across the street from them. With their approximately 10 seater dining table and 5 staff on hand someone could've done what?.....Yes!...jumped across the street to the bakery and stocked up on the bread they promised the customer on their menu before opening....Or am I just crazy? Well...I guess if they had done that....they wouldn't have had the time to giggle about it in the back like little school girls. Moving on...... The French Toast - Undercooked & doughy in the middle. Way too bare and unimpressively lacking in presentation. I mean you're paying for these dishes. I've had my 10 year old nephew make better French Toast. The bacon was tasty and the coffee was decent....even came in a cute little cup. So, that's something.... Breakfast Burrito - Good for an appetizer...Oh wait...it was an entree dish....enough said. Fancy Benedict - No, it wasn't fancy...that's the name of the dish ironically. It was cold, the salmon lacking and clearly someone's first attempt at making a Benny. The Service - We had to ask for everything. There was an underlying impatience with our server....like we were keeping her from something. Finally someone else came by with more coffee. Not the end of the world, but not charming either. This place reminded me of a first year medical student trying to do brain surgery. Education, Experience, Commitment. Then open your doors.

I love the variety of offerings they have on their menu! And the menu is quite large. I ordered a freshly squeezed OJ and the VEGGIE omelette (Seasoned guacamole, mushrooms, baby spinach, roasted red peppers, scallions and goat cheese) but subbed cheeses and added pesto. As I write this now, they forgot the guac. The OJ is fine (I prefer more pulp) but a great start to the meal. The omelette is huge! I am not kidding, this was 3 meals for me! It comes with a very small portion of their potatoes which were fine but not warm or crispy. You also get two slices of toast but there is a sub charge for sourdough (again - based on their website, they don't have sourdough but brioche so we got that). Service was fast and friendly but at times, we were almost rushed. Which makes sense since they are BUSY! I would recommend this place for a quick bite!

We arrived around 9:30 AM for brunch. On a typical day, I would have ordered the breakfast croissant, but I was feeling adventurous. I tried the chicken sandwich, which was served with fries topped with shredded Pecorino Romano. While the bun was pleasantly toasted, the chicken (with mayo, lettuce, and cucumber) lacked flavor. It tasted under-seasoned and needed an extra element to elevate it--perhaps pickles, cheese, or maybe even a different sauce to complement the flavor of the mayo. I found myself alternating bites of the sandwich with the fries, which were nicely crispy. The saltiness of the Pecorino actually helped balance the milder flavor of the chicken. To drink, I had a hot Americano. It was flavorful, not too watery, and served in a beautiful black mug. I would recommend this cafe if you are in the Richmond area and looking for a relaxing place to spend time with family or friends!
