Not the best location for sunset, ask to sit in the back on the lagoon. The place was almost empty, they were spacing the tables far apart. Outstanding food, wonderful service. This place was recommended to us by a friend and I'm so so happy we ended up going. I got the crayfish for dinner and omggggg... I could seriously eat that every single day and never get tired of it. My dad tried the lobster, which is their signature entree, and it was great too. My only complaint is that the sides are plain linguine and creamed spinach and they don't really have any substitutes... I would have much rather have different sides, but the main portion was so great I barely noticed the sides anyways. read more

If you're looking for a place for fine dining, this is your spot. It's located right next to the lagoon, so you're getting an incredible view if you choose to sit outside. You'll also get to meet the resident crocodile that swims around! The food itself was fantastic! Each person in my party ordered something different & each dish was enviable. The bread basket that they brought out was the most glorious of bread baskets that I've ever had. It was a well-curated variety of breads & they were equally wonderful. The sauces that came with our complimentary appetizer was delicious too. By the time we finished our dishes, we didn't have room for dessert, but I would've loved to try the Kronut. Service was also 10/10. It felt a little odd having someone pour my water for me (they gave bottles of Fiji water). Super-nautical themed restaurant along the Hotel Zone. We chose to sit outside as we heard there's a crocodile that sometimes swims up from the lagoon but no luck for us this time! We arrived around 6pm and there was plenty of seating in the restaurant. We ordered the specials - live clams, rock crab claws, lobster soup and fresh lobster. We were brought back into the restaurant to choose a lobster from the tank close to the entrance. As we were splitting it between 2 people, we got one just under 2lbs and chose to have it prepared with garlic butter - there were about 19 other ways you can choose to have your lobster prepared. The waiters brought over some complimentary fish empanadas and a bread basket with six different types of bread to munch on. The rock crabs and clams were delicious and fresh - they cracked the crabs so well we just had to pull the meat out. We were sharing the lobster soup so they brought it out in two bowls for us without us asking. The soup was okay, I found it on the salty side but it went great when I mopped it up with the bread. The lobster ceviche was light and refreshing and the avocados added a bit of fattiness to offset the tang from the limes. By the time the lobster arrived we were pretty full already. Again, as we were sharing they divided up the lobster onto 2 separate plates for us and it was delicious. Definitely glad we didn't opt for a bigger one, this was just right. I have mixed feelings about this place, our waiters and the service in general were 5 star. However, the decor and ambiance felt weird- cheesy nautical stuff but also white tablecloths. Is it supposed to be fancy? I'm not sure. Anyway the food was below average. My lobster bisque has zero lobster chunks and barely tasted of lobster. I tasted my friend's clam chowder which also lacked flavor. For my entree I had the lobster with poblanos au gratin and the while lobster was over cooked (too rubbery/chewy) the sauce was very tasty. We've been here various times. Every visit we get a happy tummy :) The place is really nice. It is one of the few dark wood buildings in the city. But it doesn't get warm ;) it is like a huge palapa. We decided to take a table outside because the view is so gorgeous...it is between a lagoon and the ocean. Sometime you'll get to see crocodiles. Food is good. They have meat and seafood. They even have Alaskan crab legs but overpriced. I guess because they have to get them to Cancun from the north. There are not that many locations in Mexico with this dish. It is a bit pricey in general. The portions were just right for me :) We also ordered lobster and believe me, it was tasty as well as everything! Service was OK. read more

Lorenzillo's is on the lagoon side and it's beautiful. They have a very extensive menu, but it's a lobster house and their lobster is delicious. The appetizer seafood platter came with oysters, king crab, stone crab, and shrimp. I got the lobster bisque and a whole lobster. Their lobster comes prepared however you want it and flavored with different style sauces. Mine was the langosta al ajillo and it had ajillo peppers and garlic. The ajillo peppers were not very spicy, but a nice kick. The lobster comes with drawn butter and fried garlic on the side and creamed spinach and pasta. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. I would definitely come back. read more

The ceviche was a letdown from the hole in the wall we'd been frequenting and the side dishes were unimaginative, same linguini with butter and blended spinach. The lobster was ok and the coconut shrimp tasted like they were packaged. Go for the view but have a drink and an appetizer, then, go find dinner at another place. read more

My family had been to this restaurant in the past and had great reviews about it. The last visit from them about 5 years ago. So we were very excited to try it. However, on entering, the hosts that greeted us were not very friendly or welcoming. When we asked if we could change our table from outside to inside as we were concerned with small children and the water as we have heard about the crocodiles and wanted a little more security by sitting inside, the hosts looked at us like we were asking the world of them. The manager assured us further so we kept our table outside which ended up being a nice view but we were a little nervous with the small kids and the water. Also, the food was not that great. The food had a great appearance but the taste was just not there and for the price, we were very let down. The bread that was brought to the table was stale and the rest of the food was rather bland with no flavor pop. We ordered nice dishes like lobster, oysters, fish, shrimp and some pasta for the kids. Also, the waiter brought us a wine to sample which we did not like and still tried to charge us for the bottle. He said his manager made a mistake but I'm not so sure that was true. Luckily we checked. For the insane cost, not worth it. Hit up a hole in the wall in the downtown area. That is where we had our best meal on our trip and it was about 25% of the cost we spent at Lorenzillo's. read more

The food is fantastic. I have come here for 20 years and the quality is just as good as the first time. This was a very special trip the first time I came her was with first wife and this time I brought my daughter and her family . Every thing was great until my grandson realized his ibuds were missing he had placed them on the table in there case to enjoy the appetizers and a bus boy picked them up and now they are lost. And we are pissed. This not a good way to hope for me to give them a 5 star rating . My only recourse was to reduce the tip which is to bad since the waiter was great. read more

My sister ordered salmon with potatoes and I ordered shrimp and lobster, my sister salmon wasn't cooked completely we asked our server to cook it longer instead of them bringing out new salmon due to health code they just reheated the same salmon on grill after she picked through it.. ewww My food wasn't much better lobster was smashed oppose to having lobster tail attached the butter and garlic sauce was mediocre . One of my favorite places to visit while in Cancun. Every time it's worthy of the stop. Honestly I could eat here everyday if it were an option. I keep it simple and go for what they're known for, lobster! They always recommend to keep it simple also and get it prepared boiled. Which sounds pretty boring considering all the other options. But who am I to question, they're the experts. The lobster has a firm buttery texture and the spinach purée is very unique and delicious in its own special way. If you love seafood, do yourself a favor and stop by. Sometimes if you're lucky you'll get to meet their pet alligator. He wasn't around this go around but maybe next time. read more

I have never had a bad lobster. Decided to take my fiance who's an executive chef here for his birthday dinner while in cancun and we were very let down. First we got seated very quickly and didn't have a reservation. Was kinda inpressed- then we sat.. ordered drinks off the top of our heads after asking if there was a drink menu. Our waiter was ok. The assistant of the waiter rushed us. Every 2 minutes he was at the table moving plates, adjusting the butter and bread and asking if we were done before we were- the appetizer was great! Had the stone crab claws. Then comes the entrée um umm no. The lobster was hammered to death. Had no flavor and was chewy. My shrimp tasted like they came from the lagoon. Awful flavor. I ate one and gave on to my fiance who spit it out saying, that's not right. He then tasted his lobster. He chewed the first bit numerous times and put salt and pepper to see if that would help. NOPE. Sent back to the kitchen. Something he never does because he knows how it looks when food goes back. There's much more to add but I'll leave it out.... We found this restaurant as we were going for a morning walk and it came highly recommended by the Ritz Carlton Hotel. We made reservations and got in within 10 minutes. Great service and view. The crocodile swam by our table all night. Ordered a Kahlúa and cream and a Mojito-both drinks were fantastic! Complimentary bread and appetizers were fresh and delicious.
