Easily a 5 star experience. The wait staff are always there for you and attentive down to changing your plates out multiple times. Sit outside on the deck, its intimate, romantic and don't get me started on the beautiful sunset overlooking a small island in the Lagoon. You can see the highrise hotels and the loop ferris wheel of sorts on the hotel row portion of Cancun. The restaurant is very charming and the interior is decorated in a nautical antique decor, lots of beautiful wood everywhere. The food on the menu is very old school fashioned. You will see Lobster, stone crabs and lots of fresh seafood choices, Caesar salad mixed at your table w the sauce whipped up on the spot as well, not your usual fare as well as steaks and desserts from chocolate lava cake to Crepe Suzette. Food and service was great. Had the pacific oysters and the catch of the day. My wife had the coconut shrimp and clam chowder and shared the soft shell crab. Presentation 10/10. Ambiance was great. Went during lunch time, got seated and served right away. Giving 3 stars because I was told to remove my hat. I did not have my hat the whole time, only while taking pictures. In the 3rd picture I forgot to remove my hat, thats when one of the managers in light blue approached me about their "strict" dress code. I happily took my hat off. Then I was annoyed when he escorted another party to their table. One of the guys were also wearing a hat and he didn't tell him anything. Also I looked around, another lady was wearing a visor. Visor/hat, it is the same thing Mr. Manager or whoever you are. If your gonna tell one person to follow your dress code, I expect you to tell everyone one else! Just because we're young and maybe didn't look fancy enough for lunch time, you think you can impose your dress code unfairly. He was nice about telling me that there was a dress code he even opened the door for me as I was leaving. We went to Lorenzillo's the first time in April because it was across from our Hotel and really enjoyed. Service was good and the food was delicious. So when we went back in June, we were there again. And everything was great as well and we had a chance to see a crocodile. Kids were happy with that. read more

I can't believe that I didn't review this restaurant yet. I was there in September, the food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. This is where you go in Cancun for fresh and local seafood. The prices are in pesos but they will help you with the conversion. You can get anything from mussels to a lobster. They have everything you need and more. They also have a rich history that spans over 100 years. They make the best seafood and I cant wait to go back. Make a reservation. My husband and I decided to head here for dinner one night of our honeymoon and were definitely not disappointed. The ambiance was amazing and we were seated right on the water where a friendly crocodile provided excellent company. The bread they brought out was plentiful, fresh, and had so many options, and the garlic butter that accompanied it was spot on. We both ordered the lobster, my husband selected the garlic butter option while I opted for the broiled lobster (as recommended). We also started out with seafood soup, which was flavorful and full of different types of seafood. To cap off the meal, they gave us a complimentary dessert that was absolutely delicious. My husband left saying it was by far the best lobster he has ever eaten, and the portions were so large we had leftovers to bring back to our resort. Can I give it more than 5 stars? Stayed at an all inclusive resort a 5 minute bus ride away from this restaurant. Spending eight days and having every restaurant at least once, my beautiful girlfriend and I ventured out and decided to give this place a chance. We first saw it when we went for a walk a few days prior. Anyways, this place was AMAZING! From the second we walked in, we were treated like family. We didn't have reservations and we're fortunately was seated immediately but I recommend having one. Place began to fill up fairly quickly after we were seated. The food was outstanding. I wanted to love this place. My husband and I have been to Mexico many times and every time we visited Cancun I longed to try this restaurant. You see the tiki/straw hut atmosphere and location on the water thinking it will be worth a visit but the cost is extremely expensive for a mediocre meal. We weren't even sure if there were oysters in our Oysters Rockefeller?! The views outside, friendly crocodiles, and customer service were outstanding! Came here last week on our vacation. It was not my first visit here, but it has been about 8 or so years. We started with drinks of course, which I ordered the butterfly Martini and my husband ordered a beer. The Martini had kind of a strange taste, but it was very pretty. We also had the table side Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and split a seafood pasta dish. I feel like the Caesar could have been a bit better- the dressing was not very creamy, and they just literally flop down some lettuce and spread the dressing over. The shrimp cocktail was pretty good and was loaded with shrimp- definitely the highlight. The seafood pasta dish was ok- there just wasn't very much sauce mixed in with the seafood. The overall ambiance was nice, however I feel like the patio could use some fans. Also their music was constantly abruptly turning off and on so it was a little strange. I think this is still a good choice for food and the location is super convenient to the surrounding hotels. Would try it again in the future on our next visit. read more

Very ..... very underwhelming experience, especially for the price. We paid nice restaurant in Los Angeles prices for subpar food. I had a steak and Lobster and perhaps expected too much. I got a decent lobster, but the steak was comparable to a Denny's steak. The drinks were ok but the bread was atrocious. when we got the bill, we were surprised to find that tip was automatically included. The service was great, I was not given the option to add my own tip. I likely would have given a similar tip but dislike the fact I was forced into it. Oh and do not order the Calamari. When planning our trip to Cancun, this restaurant repeatedly came up so I decided to make a reservation. However, as I reviewed their website a bit closer to our trip I noticed a distinctive touristy and cheesy feel. I actually decided to cancel the reservation but a friend who visited Cancun often endorsed it so I ended up keeping the reservation. I wish I hadn't. Everything about this place is dated and cliche - from the typical fishing net decor, to the boat full of live lobsters, to the stained, oversized menu. Lorenzillo's is known for their lobster so we picked our Larry and went with our servers suggestion to have it broiled vs steamed. Sadly, even the lobster was meh. I have to admit, it is expensive here but totally worth it to commemorate our 25th wedding anniversary! Victor our server was great- he checked up on us from time to time and made sure we have what we want. It was a group of six and we were an hour and a half late to the reservation bc of flight delays with someone in the group. They were so understanding and accommodating!! We were able to still go and was so happy to have gone. The location and views were really beautiful. The service was spot on and the menu was extensive!! Our picky group of 6 had something for everyone. We started off with Kumamoto oysters, lobster tartare, and oysters Rockafellers to start. One of us had the lobster bisque and she said it was tasty. One of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. This place feels like a classic car from the seventies and eighties. There's an inside and outside dinning room and both are beautiful. The service is fantastic. We ordered a Caesar salad and they made it table side.
