On the beach with a shot of tequila

I found this great seafood restaurant in the Hotel district of Cancun. It has a oceanfront with a pier next to it. The food was spectacular and the service was great. The prices were reasonable The head waiter, Luis insured that the staff gave phenomenal service.

Enjoyed the ceviche and red fish! Good service from Israel. Margaritas were yummy. I recommend.

I like mocambo. They have the best Tuna carpaccio of all Cancun and the best ocean view. Service is great, food is great and reasonable prices for hotel zone restaurant . Limited parking area. They have a smoking area (terrace) . Gets pretty crowded in high season (afternoon specially ) .

It's been over a year but we still talk about our amazing experience here. Beautiful dinner in this open air restaurant with a lighting storm over the water. The best service and fantastic food. Next time I'm in Cancun I'll be back!

My wife and I went last night for dinner on a reccomendation from new friends we met at the pool. We enjoyed the food. It was cooked fresh and delicious, I had seafood paella and my wife ordered steak fajitas, both were very good. Staff was very friendly. Alexjandro was very attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Beyond amazing food, ambiance, and music. Love finding this spot right by the ocean and in the hotel district.

Mocambo actually has a much better rating and gets better reviews on other sites than it has on Yelp! We decided to roll the dice and take a chance since it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel and they had a very fairly priced Surf and Turf platter. - We requested a seat on the patio overlooking the water. This is highly recommended as the view is spectacular and we enjoyed the nice subtle breeze during our meal. Created a very pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere! Decor is a bit old and dated. I did appreciate the live music being played. It certainly dded to the atmosphere. - We shared a Surf and Turf platter, which is made for two people in mind. You get 2 lobster tails, 6 shrimp, 2 filet mignon, 2 skirt steak, and some fried pineapples! All of this runs roughly $65 USD! What a terrific price! The food its self was good. The skirt steak and filet mignon were my favorites, but the shrimp and pineapples were tasty as well. I wasn't overly impressed with the lobster tail. It was just okay. The meal also came with a side of mashed potatoes. They tasted alright, but were served lukewarm. Did not want to send it back, but it would have been so much better had they been served when they were hot. - Service was pretty good. I wasn't wowed, but it was adequate. There were lags in getting refills and in getting the check at the end...but not a big deal. I very much enjoyed my meal at Macambo and would recommend checking it out if you are in the area. Ask for a seat on the patio and order that Surf and Turf platter! You won't regret it! 4 stars.

Crab stuffed shrimp over zucchini...It looks better than it tastes.

I went after rave reviews from the concierge. It is better than typical beach food. However, my food was cold and lacked flavor. The shrimp also tasted a bit too fishy. (I don't like fish. I was also told that fresh shrimp should not taste like fish.). As I mentioned, it is better than fast food but not as good as even Red Lobster.

Walking along the beach from our private house rental, we stumbled along this place. They are not "all inclusive" so we were able to dine here for an early lunch. Since Mocambo lies in the hotel zone area of Cancun, it's easily accessible for both, tourists and locals. I wouldn't say this place is frequented by locals, however. The view is absolutely stunning, especially if your table is facing the ocean. The water gets more and more blue the farther out you look. Just gorgeous! The food here is alright. We had a big group with us with a few vegetarians (5/17 people). There are NO vegetarian options on the menu. Not a single one. We almost left and found a nearby hotel when one of the waitstaff said our vegetarian friends could have huevos rancheros for the price of a caesar salad. Everyone agreed and we all sat down to eat. A vegetarian menu item took about 15 minutes to confirm. It took almost thirty minutes for menus to be brought out and for the staff to take our drink orders. There were four waitstaff catering to our giant table. The service was very, very slow. Maybe they feel the longer you wait the more you order? Who knows. At the time we were the only ones in the restaurant. Anyways, we all ordered a ton of food. I selected the seafood paella. It was quite bland, seafood was not seasoned, and the rice was dry, but very nicely presented. All the colors made the dish so pretty! I tried a friend's fresh tuna carpaccio which was delicious! Everything else I tried was under seasoned with little flavor. Unfortunate not to maximize flavor with such a great view! The salsas were mouthwateringly good We probably had 5 helpings if not more. Drinks are awesome! After everyone was done eating, it took about 25 minutes for them to bring our bill. We told them even prior to ordering we wanted the bill split by two's. That didn't happen and they spent extra time doing that at the end. We spent about 3.5 hours here which I was a little irked by because I wanted to get out and explore the city. The entire meal was just excessively long due to gaps in service. Tip is included. Seems like it's the norm for anywhere you dine in Cancun. Please wear your flip flops, you will not be let in otherwise. The bathroom has AC and is very clean. Even though I can't say the food was the best, I really enjoyed my experience (-minus service) at Mocambo.

After a long day of excursion my bf wanted something delicious and ofc seafood. He found this place which was a 5 min walk from our hotel. It was even better because they open til midnight (at least on fri). We asked to be seated near the beach patio which has a lovely breeze. Browsing through the menu we realize everything was fairly cheap but the lobster grill was the best deal. We ordered the a cancun margarita and a passion fruit mojito with the surf n' turf seafood platter. We also wanted bottled water since it's been so hot all day. Food was very very delicious. My favorite was the skirt steak and lobster tail. It also came with shrimps, filamignon, and grilled pineapples. The drinks were delicious. The service was great. They spoke English well so you wouldn't have a problem ordering. They have live music so it added a plus to the ambience. Our total by the end of the night was around ~100 USD. They accept major credit cards and also add your tips for you. Recommended for special occasions!

The view is awesome and I would recommend it for groups or a romantic dinner alone- Found the place by a coupon handed to me by a vendor on the street. The food was good to me. I came twice since the other food in the area was pretty bad. The first time I got the Salmon pasta in white wine sauce. The salmon was super tender, and the dish was quite tasty. I believe it was 165 peso, about 13 USD. My bf got the surf and turf fajitas for 225 peso....I was surprised with the amount of shrimp they gave, and they tasted fresh. The coupon that we were given allowed us to get 2 free drinks - the pina colada was good, but the margarita was just okay. The staff was very attentive and happy that we were there. On the second visit, we went in the daytime for lunch. I got shrimp tacos (2 taco for 75 peso, 6 bucks). The shrimp were fried and came with cabbage and chipolte mayo. They were okay; could've used more of the sauce. The shrimp ceviche was solid as well. My bf is a major fan of lobster bisque so we ordered some for him. Unfortunately, it was not comparable to the bisques we have tasted in our home city Chicago, but it did have a good amount of lobster meat in it. The location that Yelp has posted is NOT the true location of the place. It is right by that ferry to Isla Mujeres in the hotel district, on the beach.

But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Cenacolo moved recently to La Isla mall across from where we were staying. With its all glass walls, the space was elegant and inviting. The kitchen was all glass so you can see the chefs preparing the food. We didn't have reservations, but the hostess found us a great table. Our main server was Alejandro and he was more than helpful in making sure we ordered what we wanted. With Italian food, I also prefer very good Italian wine versus a cocktail. He pointed me to 2 red wines that were bold and heavy as I requested. Both were just OK, but expensive. Wines by the bottle was ridiculously high. Regardless, he was great in steering me to the type of dishes more suited to what I was asking for and not just the most expensive. This restaurant has been highly recommended by my brother and sister in law for years. They had told us it was one of the best Italian food they have had anywhere. But, In its previous location, it just looked a bit stuffy for a CANCÚN vacation meal. At its new location, though it was still upscale, it seemed more approachable to us somehow. We just came back from a 10 day vacation at the Amalfi coast, and Rome, Italy. We found the pastas at Cenacolo to be comparable if not better. We had bruschetta, Ragu spaghetti, lasagna, and their chocolate soufflé. We had read that the soufflé was outstanding so we ordered 2. We were NOT disappointed with any of the food items.
