This was seriously my 20th or so time to eat here and I keep coming back, so it must be good... The lobster is tasty and the scenery is great! The service is always top notch, but I can't stand being guilted into paying a huge tip on top of the already 5X + markup on a bottle of wine. I am more than happy to tip very well on service, but I cap out my tip on wine at $10-$15 per bottle regardless of the wine maker (depending on how many times they refill my glass). I will say they are better than most on paying attention to that, but the wine prices are already INSANE... Please lower your wine prices and don't chase customers down asking for a bigger tip. This has happened to me the last 5 times I've gone to eat here. I keep saying I won't be back, but the sunset over the water trumps the desire to have cheaper wine prices. The lobster is already $75 a plate. There is a giant crocodile who occasionally comes around, but we've missed him the last 3 times. Have the crepe suzette for desert with a flambé Mexican coffee. I will consider 5 stars the next time I am in Cancun, if you will make the wine a more realistic price. read more

I enjoyed my birthday dinner here. The service was spectacular and the food was a-ok; my favorite was the clam chowder served on a bread bowl. We sat bayside with Enrique the alligator. He seemed quite comfortable alongside us. I had the lobster and shrimp. It was good, but I think the clam chowder made me full before my entree arrived. I love that they gave me a complimentary dessert for my special day. Thank you Lorenzillo's for making my birthday so special. read more

The patio and view were pretty nice... but.... The food and service were terrible! I had ordered Chinchorro, but ended up some sort of shrimp that was nothing as described! What I ended up with was a few pieces of shrimp in a big shell smothered in a creamy sauce on a bed of carrot shreds! My boyfriend had- some kind of a seafood stew which was served on a bed of rice....it was ok, but nothing special! The server never came around to ask how the food was, never asked if we wanted more drinks... When we finally did get his attention he didn't seem to care that we weren't pleased with the food, and then when the manager came over he insisted that the food was excellent and nobody ever complains! He said that the restaurant has been open for 30 years- and he'll tell his owner what we had to say (I doubt it). We pointed out that the sign out front is misleading then because it says "since 1683"- which he argued it doesn't! Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere- this place is overrated and over priced! The service was crap, and the food was by far the worst I've ever had! We thought we were going to have a romantic dinner, but sadly left disappointed! read more

Flipping.... ripoff. The prices here were definitely at the level of fancy American restaurants while I would say that the quality, quantity, and service was not. We were a large party, but it took a really long time to start ordering and an even longer time for our food to come out, even though by then it had gotten to around 10 or 11pm and the restaurant was quite empty. A friend ordered a drink and it didn't come for 20 minutes. My friend commented to me that there were a lot of servers and waiters just standing around chatting without much to do, but he didn't have his drink! So he asked again, and it finally came. Another friend ordered a Russian Mule and they didn't know what that was (that's ok, I don't really know what it is either). read more

Originally had reservations at La Habichuela, the cab driver had told us the food was mediocre & touristy, he suggested Lorenzillo's was much better ... Not so much! If you were raised in a trailer park, then you will think it's fabulous. The food was microwaved, the sauce was not fresh, the food was mediocre at best. My salmon was to be cooked more, only to be replaced with another piece which had been microwaved- they must have thought we were stupid not to notice.. FOH & BOH need proper training .. No bueno. We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The Caesar salad was amazing, the scallops appetizer was very good and our Seabass dinners were fantastic. The bacon wrapped shrimp entrée was very good as well. The bread basket was really good and the fish swimming beside our table enjoyed it as well. Price is much higher, but it's definitely worth its price tag. Great environment, view and sea food.

Always go here when we visit Cancun and it is always delicious. Recommend the made at your table Ceasar salad. Make reservations and ask for table on the lagoon so you can see the crocodiles. Service amazing. The Cronuts for dessert..OMG! Steaks..shrimp..lobster..crab. Save your shells and throw to the Crocs. They love it and will even come if you whistle. The service was really lovely! I however, choose the wrong meal. I had the coconut shrimp which lacked flavor. I ended up pulling all of the coconut breading off the shrimp and eating. My husband ordered grilled lobster and shrimp and his meal was much better. Also the baked potato is not baked but boiled which is a difference in the potato skin texture. Overall it was a nice experience but some meal options taste better than others. read more

Even though the service is above and beyond and the restaurant itself is beautiful, my sister & I got food poisoning from the salmon at this spot. We came to Cancun for a nice vacation that ended up in horror for an entire day as we faced she consequences hours after ingesting the salmon. Service was slow. The grilled lobster (most popular dish) was tough and not appetizing. The drinks hardly had any alcohol in them. The shrimp cocktail was pre mixed in cocktail sauce, lobster bisque had no lobster chunks, Cesar salad was whole romaine leaves and not cut up or tossed, the tuna tartar was essentially canned tuna. This was the best restaurant we could have found in cancun. We only stayed 4 nights and went there twice. The service was exceptional and the food was even better. The best lobster I ever had. We were sharing the lobster so I was skeptical about the size. The waiter quickly returned with a 2 kilo live spiny tail lobster. We had such a Great experience that we decided to celebrate the new year by having dinner there. The manager Domenico was very accommodating. Visited last night. Sat outside by the lagoon, although it was a bit hot there until the sun went down. Service was excellent and friendly. Wonderful dinner experience at Lorenzillo's. We originally spotted it driving by. It is a unique restaurant experience right on the water. Decorations design make it feel like a fancy rustic ship. We visited on a recent trip to Cancun. Located in the hotel zone, it's a large, nautical-themed restaurant on the lagoon side of the zone. Easy to get to, and they valet park, just pay the tip at the end. Very good service, the menu was extensive and had just about any kind of seafood you could want. Prices were, by US standards, reasonable, and the food was very good. The nautical theme is a bit cheeky...but I appreciated it, anyway. Maybe a bit touristy, but the hotel zone is like that, but it was not over-done, and we really had a nice dinner. A good place for raw bar and lobster, as they specialize in Caribbean lobster, and have a number of large tanks. read more

Our waiter Farnel Antonio is the WORST waiter I've ever encountered. He totally ignore my wife request about my birthday because I forwarded him that we didn't eat much. He stopped the helpers from coming and sing happy birthday because our check was not big enough. The following night we went to Harry's, spent $210.00 far better service, he got ZERO tip from me. Came here after reading all the good reviews. Service is excellent and Andres did a great job. We had Stone Crab and Oysters and they were both delicious. I had the Sea Bass whole fish fried, and it was good although I believe that it was undercooked (I personally prefer the Red Snapper but they did not have it). The lobster dish that my wife had was delicious and our friends share a large mix of various fish which was also great. Place is beautiful and very well maintained. This is an amazing place to eat! Our 5th or 6th visit was just as good as the others. The building is incredible, with a great atmosphere. The history is displayed on the walls in a reserved "Hard Rock" style. This time, we had the crab cakes instead of the corn crab chowder...both are great. Lobster and filet was great as usual too! My crab soup for starter was amazing. The lobster fra diavolo also very good. Nice table over the water as well. Kids menu is lacking. Charged $50 for my daughters shrimp. This dish consisted of 6 shrimp and terrible fries. My son had the $50 kids filet. It was average and again served with the terrible fries. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with the meal, but no dessert and the total was $376 with tip! Insane amount for the food and food quality we received. There are better places in cancun. read more

Probably one of the worst Lobster meals I've had ever. We searched Yelp and ask the hotel concierge for the best Lobster in Cancun and it seemed this place was the go to spot. It is not.... Besides the Spinach Puree that seemed to have come from a cake frosting squeeze tool and dry gross pasta, the lobster was tough, and flavorless. And the presentation was terrible We asked what was best and we were swayed toward the Grilled version. Came out of the Tail and flat on the plate and was tough and chewy.. This place is amazing!!!! If I could give them more stars I would! If you are looking for top notch service, you will not be disappointed here. Every time I've come, there are 2 servers per table. If you enjoy fresh seafood, I would say this is the best place in all of Cancun to eat! Everything is so fresh and absolutely delicious! You can even pick your own lobster If you would like. My favourite food is seafood and I have to tell you how surprised I was at how many ways you can get lobster done. If you love wine, take a look at their wine cellar before being seated.... It will make anyone envious! There's something for everyone. Lastly, if you like a bit of entertainment while you eat, there are always a tonne of fish to feed and sometimes you're able to see the 1-2 gators that stop off here for their supper as well. If you're in a sharing mood, you can always share a bit of your supper with them. I have eaten here on more than one occasion and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality, freshness and size of all of the sea food. Depending on the ambience you're looking for, you can sit inside or outside on the huge deck. Go for sunset, you'll be amazed at the jaw dropping colours you get to watch while enjoying your wine. read more

Only bummer is bathroom is upstairs in the restaurant, so if you have anyone who doesn't do well with stairs, it's tough. The service is ok - Once again, I was in a position of not being a fish person, but I like clams, so I ordered the clam chowder and the chicken. Ok, so my friend ordered the stone crab claws and the ceviche. They asked if we wanted them brought at different intervals. We said yes. So my chowder was done, my friend got her claws and was working on them.. but the proceeded to hover over the table from the aisle away until she was done to bring my chicken. No huge deal, but they asked twice if I wanted to wait and then asked after the 2nd time what I had. I was pretty stuffed after the clam chowder. I have to say, it was pretty damn good. The bites of chicken I had were good, and it was the only dish I took home. Was good the next day too (chicken with goat cheese and poblanos). My friend said her ceviche wasn't great. More like it wasn't "cooked" in the lime juice, but pre-cooked and then lime added later. e.g. no flavor. Overall, not bad. But I would go to Navios before here. read more

Loved this restaurant!! We ate on the open air terrace overlooking the lagoon. We had heard this was a good place to maybe see the crocodile and they are right!!! He was swimming around the balcony below almost our whole meal. There are also lots of other fish in the water to watch while you eat. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. We had complimentary bread and mini starter while we waited for our main meals. The meals came out very quickly and the service was great. There are live lobster to select if you like that and the whole restaurant is very quirky and interesting. Finally the price was great!! For 2 of us to eat a main meal and have wine and tea was around $65 US very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the wonderful service. The staff were all very friendly and happy to talk with you about the fish and local crocs, however my Spanish is not great and many of the staff spoke mostly in Spanish but for ordering you can order with ease is English if necessary. What an absolute nightmare. We travelled all the way from Texas to come and enjoy this seafood. However everything went wrong. This place is NOT what it used to be. There was a cockroach swimming around in the lobster tank. Yes. Let me say that again, where they keep the best lobsters, there was a cockroach swimming around with them.
