This BMW was bought for my husband, who is in the military. It was his attainable dream car, and I purchased it as a present to celebrate him graduating from seven months of training. What was supposed to be a special milestone and something he worked incredibly hard for has turned into one of the most stressful and financially devastating experiences we have ever faced.
We bought the BMW from Loren Automotive Group, and after only 1.5 months of driving it, the oil pump failed and caused catastrophic engine damage. Now the vehicle needs an entire engine replacement. We had barely gotten to enjoy the car before we were faced with a repair bill that we simply cannot afford.
The most frustrating part is that Loren Automotive Group has refused to do anything to help us resolve this situation. We have been left to deal with the consequences of a major engine failure that happened just weeks after purchasing the vehicle, with no meaningful assistance from the dealership.
We have now been stuck in this situation for approximately six months, still making monthly payments on a vehicle that we cannot properly use and that needs an engine replacement. We are paying for a car we can barely do anything with, while facing thousands of dollars in additional repair costs. We have explored our options, but financing an engine replacement has been extremely difficult, leaving us feeling trapped in a situation we never expected to be in so soon after buying a vehicle.
This was not some old car we had owned for years. We had only been driving it for a month and a half when the engine failure happened. We understand that used vehicles can have problems, but a catastrophic failure this soon after a purchase is devastating, and we expected the dealership to at least make a genuine effort to help us find a reasonable resolution.
What makes this especially upsetting is that this car represented something meaningful to our family. It was a gift to celebrate my husband's accomplishment after months of military training. Instead of being able to enjoy that achievement, we have spent months dealing with financial stress, repair estimates, and payments on a vehicle that needs an engine.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Loren Automotive Group to do their research, get an independent pre-purchase inspection, and understand exactly what protections they have before signing anything. Do not assume that a dealership will help you if a major mechanical failure occurs shortly after your purchase.
I wish this experience had been different. We invested in what we believed would be a reliable vehicle and a special gift for my husband. Instead, we have been left with a massive financial burden and no meaningful help from the dealership that sold us the car.
I hope Loren Automotive Group reconsiders how it handles situations like ours. Customers deserve to feel that their concerns are taken seriously, especially when a major failure occurs so soon after a purchase. read more
