Lopez tree service deserves 5 stars from me! We had a huge pine tree removed (an 8 hour job) plus other bushes trimmed. His crew were very professional. They cleaned up the yard and left it spotless. As we removed yards of dirt to level the area, we found roots buried deep and an additional tree stump from some other removal (before our time). Arturo came back once for the stump then we found the root another day. The second time we were in the finishing stages of laying new sod and he sent his guys over to grind out the last of the uncovered roots within an hour of my calling Arturo. He bent over backwards to finish the job correctly. I will be using Arturo and Lopez tree service for all my tree needs! Great job, responsible employees and attentive owner. read more

My interaction with this company comes from ChipDrop, a service where local companies will drop of free mulch. They were fast to answer my post and arranged for a time early the next morning. I now know that I could have watched them drop off the mulch. Not only did they drop off an obscene amount without confirming if I wanted that much but they also dropped off pine which I specifically stated that I did not want. There was also a lot of trash in the mulch. I did call up the person that I spoke with for the drop-off and asked them to take the remaining and was told that they had no way to take it back. They also never admitted to dropping off pine and said that there was no way that there was pine in my mulch even though it was clearly pine. I did my best to try and be amicable about the situation but they were not interested in resolving it. All I can tell you is to be careful if you utilize them for that service. read more

Recently used this company to remove a HUGE dead cork oak tree that we have tried to save for years. The tree was truly majestic and almost a member of the family - but for safety reasons it had to go..... After getting bids from three well known tree experts in the area, my son in law told me to try these guys as he had used them during their remodel and had been happy with their work. I am SO glad that I did give Arturo Lopez a call! He came out the same day, gave me a great bid (not the most expensive nor the lowest) and I just felt comfortable with him for some reason. After obtaining the necessary city permits, etc. the work was scheduled to be completed within a couple of days and the crew arrived in ALL their glory at the appointed time - complete with TONS of equipment. I was worried about causing problems for our poor neighbors, the mess that may be involved, etc.....but it was PAINLESS! Mind you this was a BIG job! With over two truck loads of wood being removed besides all the chipping done to smaller branches.... I also had these guys prune some trees at the back of my property and they did an amazing job on these as well. Very artistic job that is often lacking when pruning is done......so in addition to removing the big old oak, their work on pruning was just great! All work was done and they were gone at around 4:00 pm....which amazed me....but what amazed me even more was how CLEAN they left my yard! Despite the scope of a job this large.....there was not any evidence that they had been here at all! Besides the fact that our great old oak tree was gone...... I am glad that I went with Lopez Tree Service. I have 4 palm trees, 2 oak trees, 2 pecan trees and 1 olive tree. Arturo said he will have them trimmed in one day. I was kind of unsure if he can really do it in 1 day since all the other trimming companies I have talked to stated 1 1/2 to 2 days. Sure enough, they did it in 1 day. They came with their big trucks and equipment, and a pretty sizable crew. Two guys did the trimming and the rest of crew clean as branches and leaves fell to the ground. He helped us consider issues such as how much to cut back (privacy from neighbors), explained how long a tree would take to grow (our gardener butchered part of our apple tree so it needed evening out), and identified which trees were more important to remove than others (a few volunteers were threatening the foundation). He also answered some landscaping questions we had even though that's not a service he provides. His pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. He also fit us in extremely quickly (within a week). Lopez Tree Service was extremely professional and provided us amazing service. I recently purchased a new home in Pasadena, and the trees in our back and front yard had been neglected for quite some time. When Arturo came out to provide me with an estimate, he was so helpful, even offered to help me open my heavy wooden gate to the backyard. The owners are certified arborists, and it showed. Arturo was able to tell me so much information about all my trees - when the peach tree would likely bloom and the best way to prune it, how to keep your trees from growing taller (topping is not the best way!), etc. He also advised me about how to take care of my smaller trees that I could do myself. I was very impressed with that type of integrity. Lopez fully insures their workers for any potential liabilities that may occur on your property, which is very important when their workers were climbing my very tall magnolia tree. As for the work performed the day of, it was amazing. They did spectacular work. They trimmed my magnolia and thinned it out perfectly. And to put a cherry on top, they cleaned up ALL of the leaves and branches that they trimmed. They even went into my neighbors yard to make sure they cleaned up anything that had fallen on the other side of the fence. You really can't get better service than that. Lopez Tree Service did A LOT of work, both tree trimming and removal. They trimmed 2 very old and large shade trees that hang over the house, trimmed 3 very high (over 2 stories) ficus trees, 4-5 smaller fruit trees and removed 3 tall ficus trees and 1 fruit tree. Arturo puts the art in tree trimming. Lopez Tree Service was called to remove our tall Cypress Tree that was dying due to a fungus. They were on time, carefully took down our really tall Cypress all the way to the stump, removed the stump and cleaned up afterwards. This is the second time I have used them. We have a big cottonwood tree that had been topped off at some point and had grown out of control and needed some serious thinning and shaping. This is a first-rate operation. Arturo came out as scheduled to look at the tree that needed trimming. This was after the first big winds of the season, when he was pretty swamped with damage from those winds, as well as people preparing for possible El Niño high winds to come. He explained that because he was heavily booked for weeks in advance, if I could be flexible as to timing, he would fit me in if an opening came up. He called at each step of the process to let me know when he and his crew would arrive. The work was done quickly, professionally, and courteously. They even carefully moved some of my wind chimes and other decorations that could have suffered damage, and just as carefully replaced them when the work was complete. Lopez Tree Service removed a giant pine from a planter and tore out my front yard lawn. His father and his crew descended on my property on a Saturday and immediately got to work. I was not there to sign off on the work (because they finished the job so quickly), and when I got home, there was one thing that needed a little more attention. Called for an estimate for tree trimming at my house, the job consisting of 11 large eucalyptus trees, 3 large pine trees, and a few smaller trees. Arturo came over, and told me the eucalyptus trees didn't need trimming. I appreciate that honesty; I suspect that less scrupulous workers would have done the trimming rather than turn down a multi-thousand dollar addition to the job. He also was knowledgeable enough to advise that the pine trees tolerate trimming in cooler weather rather than the heat of summer when I first called him out. Arturo and his crew are worth every penny! We needed to have several trees removed from our backyard including some very tall palm trees which were close to the house. Arturo came one day as scheduled to give me an estimate. Professional, friendly and competitive is a short description. A week later he and his 5 men crew arrived on time with all the equipment needed. They took the trees down in no time, grinned the stumps and roots in no time. Some of the trees stumps were inches away from a gas line. Arturo and his crew after consulting with me axed most of the stumps to avoid breaking the line which the heavy duty equipment would have damaged. Needless to say it was a lot of manual labor but they did it without blinking. They then clean the place, including blowing the sawdust from the roof and cleaning the pool which was covered in sawdust due to the proximity of the palms which were less than 5 feet away!
