I had been curious as to…read morehow good their coffee was, but there was always a line and I chose to go when there wasn't one. I tried an Americano a little while ago and it was quite good. I became a huge fan of Americano the first time tried in Rome many years ago. As a coffee drinker I simply thought an Americano was a watered-down espresso. I learned there is a little more to it. The Americano is my favorite coffee, although I usually drink a brewed black coffee. GC's Americano is very good and will probably be my go-to order there. Service was good and the young man behind the counter was quick to offer an Americano when I learned their regular black was being brewed. Anyway, I found a good spot for a coffee break (between shopping) whenever I am down at Stanford. And...the pics.

It seems they're just trying to be trendy (but careless) with their menu rather than actually paying attention to food safety. I would prefer a coffee shop just own their lack of gluten-free options. I would still go somewhere for good coffee and good service. The only reason I'm giving three stars instead of one is because their cashier was patient and knowledgeable. She checked the ingredients of the English muffins for me. And she already knew the oatmeal was not the correct GF version when I asked about it. She saved me from getting glutened. A++ for the cashier. They also had soy milk, which I was happy about.

My cold brew was prepared immediately, but my friends had to wait 15+ minutes for their Shakerados. The NOLA cold brew was sweet and refreshing - the light cinnamon and honey added just the right amount of sweetness to the smooth cold brew. We took our drinks to go, since we still had plenty of shopping to do!

I didn't really get something crazy, but I did had cafe au lait. Tastes like usual, but their prices are quite expensive since that drink was $6.30, which can be twice as expensive as the ones from low-end cafes. However, it's worth the stay and experience. I did stay outside and I honestly like it. It's probably going to be one of go to places for coffee whenever I visit downtown.

The owner was in and gave us an introduction to the pâtisserie and a sample of the Hokkaido milk crêpe cake. It was rich and creamy, but also light and airy because of the many layers of crêpes. I was craving matcha today so I took a slice home. It had a true, luxurious matcha taste! IIRC the owner said they use quality matcha from Kyoto. I could taste it in every decadent bite. Everything about the matcha cake was well balanced: the ratio of ingredients, the subtle sweetness, all so that the matcha notes could shine. Not only were the desserts simply perfect, they were so beautifully presented too. There was no indoor seating but there's plenty of outdoor seating in the shopping center for that lovely outdoor cafe experience. Highly recommend for when you want a (not too) sweet treat. The Anton location in the mall is only takeaway, so you just order at the counter and go. They do provide a very pretty and well-constructed cardboard tray with a napkin/utensil holder built in if you tell them you're eating at one of the patio tables. Very thoughtful! We had a slice of their best seller, the Hokkaido milk charcoal crepe, which cost $12/slice. Simply put, the crepe was just too dry and overcooked. I personally look for crepe texture to be a little QQ (soft, but with some bite) and this was borderline rubbery. The skin also wasn't smooth: you could even see all the bubbles that formed. Cream was okay, nothing special or particularly "Hokkaido" about it; I've had dairy in Hokkaido and this didn't have any of the richness I remember. The little crunchy chocolate-covered wafer balls were a net negative to the experience. The sweetness of the chocolate was way too overpowering for how delicate the cream was, and I did not like the crunchy texture in the context of a crepe cake at all.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Very Bad Customer Service…read more I would like to report a very disappointing experience I had at your Shell station this morning, Sept 25 at approximately 8:30 AM. I am a regular customer who frequently purchases fuel at this location, and I have always had positive interactions with the staff. However, my experience today with a female employee described as having blonde curly hair, tall, chubby was unacceptable. I came into the store to purchase lottery tickets and brought coins that I had carefully counted and organized in advance. My transaction was very simple and should not have required a significant amount of time. Instead of completing my transaction, the employee repeatedly attended to other customers while leaving me standing at the counter without properly finishing my purchase. Although there may have been a language barrier, that should not have prevented her from providing basic customer service, paying attention, or treating me with respect. Throughout the interaction, she appeared uninterested, unfriendly, and dismissive. She did not acknowledge the inconvenience caused, showed no effort to assist me, and came across as very rude. As a result, I spent nearly an hour waiting when my transaction should have taken only a few minutes. I found this treatment particularly disappointing because all of the other employees I have encountered at this location have always been courteous, friendly, and helpful. I am not writing this complaint lightly. As a loyal customer, I believe every customer deserves to be treated respectfully and served in a timely manner. I hope management will review this incident and provide the appropriate coaching and training to ensure other customers do not have a similar experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate a response regarding any actions taken to address this concern.

However the quality isn't exactly up to Chevron or 76 standards, if you're one that believe 91 Octane is all the same, then this place is for you. Why three stars though? It would be two if it wasn't for the exceptional pricing of gas. First off, if you get gas here at any 'normal' hour, let alone peak hours, there's always a line to get in. This line is enhanced since there are only TWO pumps there. That's a maximum of four cars total that can be pumping at one time, and heaven forbid if you turn in and your gas cap is on the wrong side of the pumps. There's hardly any room to back out and make a U-Turn. Also, pending on how full their tanks are the pumps can pump fairly slow (there has been signs of improvement though). The area can be a bit spotty as it borders nice vs not so nice neighborhoods. I've seen people with nice cars pull up to add gas, then card that are beat up show up, and the nice cars leave w/o even filling up. I haven't experienced anything bad here, I think some people get a bit too paranoid. The convenient store is loaded with snacks and such and some automotive fluids as well for emergency. There's also a carry-out Pizza Hut there that shares the same lot too.

During my last visit, I asked an employee if they had the bag, and he told me they didn't. However, I could clearly see the bag sitting on top of a box on the floor behind him. A few moments later, another employee, who may have been a manager, moved the bag behind another box to hide it. This made me feel like they intentionally didn't want to sell me the item. If the bag wasn't available for sale, they should have explained why instead of saying they didn't have it. After visiting the store so many times, I can't help but wonder if I've been given the same answer every time. I hope Trader Joe's looks into this situation and provides more honest and respectful customer service.
