LongHorn Old Fashioned

Another great experience at one of my favorite lunch spots... Longhorn!!! And I prefer lunch over dinner because no matter what location you visit, this place gets busy for dinner!!! Plus free warm bread and butter every time! Just don't eat too much or you won't have room... The steakhouse lunch menu is a great deal starting at only $8.99 as well as $5 happy hour drink specials!!! Hubby and I most recently visited the Lancaster, PA location and another solid experience! Hubby got the surf and turf and I opted for my $8.99 lunch chicken sandwich special! It's hand breaded and fried to perfection, served on a brioche bun w/LTO and ranch! Plus a side... house salad is my fave! I'm big on salad dressing and all longhorns make their dressing from scratch!!! It's always super creamy and fresh!!! Hubby splurged and got their Old Fashioned and it was a perfect ratio, stirred to perfection!!! Great value, great service and a quiet and clean setting!!! 10/10!

Let me just say I was highly disappointed. Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner and the food wasn't that great. The bread they served was ok. The corn was lame. Chillies has way better street corn. The corn barely has seasoning on it and was under cooked. The fries were good but the steak was not that good. It didn't have much flavor so I had to add salt, after I added salt it tasted ok. I just didn't like the texture it was a little bit too hard. The service on the other hand was amazing. The manager only charged us $3.50 for the meal. I would never come to this steakhouse for steak again at any location. Just a personal preference. I would possibly come here to try other things besides steak. It wasn't terrible but its just not for me. I'll stick to Texas Roadhouse across the street lol.

Buffalo sauce. Wings!!! Excellent!!!

In Lancaster for our nieces dance competition next-door heard we tried to come here last night, and they were lined out the door at 5 PM. Today we got here at 4 PM and there was no wait. Our server was kind and friendly and knowledgeable. The wings were excellent and the shrimp were phenomenal. However, the issue came out warm, and we asked for it to be reheated and it was. However, little extra salty and the flavor was just mediocre. Sorry I didn't get a picture of my wife's salmon but it was also excellent. Great for couples and families. Enjoy!!!

Was in the area and wanted to try something new, I know Longhorn's been around forever, but we have never been to one and we all have this theory when on Vacation we eat at places we cant eat at home (True Foodie Antics I know) So 40 min quoted wait, it was dinner time in a touristy area so we expected it, but just was considerably longer than the quoted 40, but whatever! Got in and was sat in a nice booth/half table, waitress took entirely too long to even greet us, and was SHOUTING the whole time, like OMG headache shouting. The place was also super loud. Ordered everything, had to continuously repeat things to her, she would often come back over to confirm what we ordered again, I could just tell this was going to be an entire shit show. The service was slow and like pulling teeth! The food, SAVED THIS REVIEW! The steak was delish and the shrimp was just as tasty! The kids loved everything which doesnt happen everywhere so this was a pleasant treat! All in all was an ok meal, will def try again and maybe one closer to home!

We got there and we were told there was 25 minute wait there were three other couples there. These pictures are of an empty.. I'm sure whoever owns this business would not be happy to know that the people at the front are telling people 25 minute wait when there's empty tables all over the place they're not making money whoever owns it and the servers aren't making money. People are gonna walk out when they see empty tables And a 25 minute wait what kind of business is that my server Wendy was excellent. They should have more people in there like her. My server Wendy would get a five star review. The people upfront would get a zero on any other review and apparently the manager knew about it too. That was on. We were there on May 5, 2024 at 4:30 PM. Check your video cameras and see what was going on in there.

Can't go wrong with LongHorn steak anywhere. Their website seems to take call ahead wait list but this particular place actually won't put you on the list until you show up. This was very confusing and I think they should accept call ahead wait list on rainy night like when we visited. Once we got seated, experience was pleasant. Server was nice and food came fairly quick. I was hungry after waited so long but their steak just hit the spot.

[1020] 10/2019 We stopped in this chain location due to positive experiences we had at other Longhorn steakhouses. This location is new with plenty of parking. I'm glad we visited as we enjoyed our visit. The staff was friendly. Our food was tasty and we had large portions with plenty to take home. We usually visit Texas Roadhouse across the street. I'm glad we tried here as we enjoyed our food with minimal wait. We will be back

Black label , rocks with a twist. What a crappy pour. This is not what is done in NJ or Florida

Do yourself a favor, go across the street to the other steakhouse. I ate there yesterday and this place pales in comparison.

The BBQ Barn - Opened Whoopie Pie - a little messy but good

On our way back from a trip to NC and up to MA, we decided to stop in Lancaster for some lunch and…read moreshopping. My husband and I looked for the best BBQ places in the area and landed on The BBQ Barn. A small and cute little barn sits in the corner of the plaza (on the right of Target). We ordered chicken and rib dinners with an extra pulled pork sandwich (we ordered way too much but needed to try it all!!). Dinner plates come with Cole slaw, a dinner roll, potatoes, and a whoopie pie. There is seating outside. We both agreed that the chicken may have been the best we have ever had. It was seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The ribs came with bbq sauce on the side. There was a line, but service was quick and efficient. The grills are right in front and you can see the cooking happening! Inside the barn, I could see them rolling out fresh pretzels. They also had homemade root beer, which was very good! After we finished eating, I couldn't help but grab a vanilla ice cream cone to share with my dogs. They agree too, best soft serve ice cream we have ever had. Since getting home, we have already talked about how we need to plan a trip back to Lancaster to get more BBQ and explore the area a bit longer.

Important! The address listed in Yelp is wrong. The BBQ Barn is located in Lancaster on the north…read moreside of Lincoln Highway but is not visible from the road. Drive to the Target just west of the American Music Theatre and head to the far east side of the Target, driving back around the side of the building and the restaurant will be on your right. Watch for small signs directing you to the BBQ Barn. Review: Very good pulled pork sandwiches with lots of meat for a very reasonable price. Full meal is a great deal that includes three small grilled red potatoes, a small coleslaw, roll, whoopie pie, and drink for $12.50-$14.00 depending on your meat and beverage choice. They sell "homemade" root beer that I tried and it was good and tasted like the original drove in A&W root beer except it lacked carbonation. We had a sandwich plus one full meal for about $20 and left a small tip. Note that this is a casual place with outdoor seating only, similar to a food truck. Thankfully the picnic table seating is mostly in the shade. I do recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner and noticed local Amish eating there while we had lunch. today.

First time At the Smokehouse BBQ & Brew…read more We had the corn bread and burnt tips for appetizers hubby had the pulled pork and chicken and I had the SCHNITZEL AND SPAETZLE for dinner. The Burnt ends appetizer was the best I have ever had. The meat was super tender and the white horseradish was so good on it we bought 12oz to take home. Honestly that could have been my dinner it was that good. The pulled pork was good it passed my husband's test since he's from NC and still looking for one like home. The spaetzle was amazing, and as good as my mother in law made. Well better. And she's German. Such a great find. It will be on our list every-time we come back to Lancaster.

Smokehouse BBQ & Brews…read more GOOD: Service, woodsy-warm atmosphere. Prices were fair and soup was delicious BAD: The pulled pork was dry on the top layer, underneath it got better and better. The fried chicken was good and well cooked, but the batter needed seasoning. I would certainly go back to Smokehouse. I loved the warm atmosphere and friendly service. The platter was overall good. My recommendations would be to rotate/mix the pulled pork so it doesn't catch so much heat on the top layer, and pre season the chicken fry batter. Slightly salted/peppered taste would give the fried chicken a nice boost without the customer having to cover it with the shakers.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.
