I haven't been to a Longhorn Steakhouse in forever, so we decided to go on a whim. Our waiter was amazing and we ordered the steakhouse chicken wings for appetizers and they did not disappoint. Bread was baked to perfection and butter was delish! We also ordered the cheeseburger and chicken tenders for the kids and those were okay but the thing that we were looking forward to most was the outlaw ribeye. I am sad to say that the ribeye was cooked to a crisp which made it taste bitter and burnt, and it was impossible to eat. Our experience at the end was underwhelming because the beginning of service and the food was so amazing. I just have to say that the outlaw ribeye needs to be outlawed because I don't see how it could be a fan favorite at all. This alone is enough not to return, that's how bad the steak was. No, no, and no. First of all, we were there for two hours. After that, the food was cold. We waited for 90 minutes. There's no way my steak was 8 ounces. (Yes, I know they shrink when cooked.) Dinner at Longhorn was a wonderful experience, I chose to go somewhere local for my Anniversary because I wasn't feeling too well and wanted to keep things simple yet special. My waitress Marissa was amazing. My only concern was that we had an unwanted visitor ( A roach). Steak came out fresh off the cow. Now I know I usual say medium rare but this was ridiculous. Usually I would just suck it up and deal with is but there's no way I could eat this super red raw meat. Waitress finally refilled my wife's and I drink right before leaving. Half the meal thirsty. The wait time initially took forever. On the other hand my wife ordered salmon which came out perfect. My friend and I went to Longhorns on Friday night. We were surprise to see it wasn't busy at 6:00pm but business did pick up. My friend ordered the large Flo's filet which looked very tasty with no fat. I heard their best steak was the bone-in Outlaw Rib eye. It was horrible. I struggled to find meat without fat a or grizzle. When finished my plate had an unusual amount of both. Even the waiter agreed it was way more than normal. I asked him to show and tell the manager I thought they should adjust my check. I wasn't looking for a freebie but thought Longhorn should stand behind the unsatisfactory quality to reduce the cost. The manager never even approached us, no one apologized for serving a bad inferior product. Manager just ruled no adjustment. Clearly there was no attempt to provide customer service or even care if they serve inferior products. After dining at the restaurant over the last 26-yrs i will never support such a business run by a horrible manager. I completely understand a false wait at restaurants to try to push more bar sales, but it is frustrating when you see so many open tables, just sit people and if the want something from the bar they can order at the table. So we were told it would be a 25 min wait, and it was about 10 mins when they called our names for a table. We really love the new Longhorn in Riverview. We were going to the mall, so we stopped here in Brandon. We were ultimately disappointed. The cold salad is good, the bread was a bit stale. We ordered the Shrimp and rice and bone in Ribeye, our favorite. My rice was cold and they did get me new rice so that was fine. The steak however tasted, lack of a better word, bad. The fat wasn't rendered properly so it was tough and the outside was so charred it tasted burnt. We agreed they probbably didn't clean the grill because you could brush off odd tasting stuff from the grill marks. We only ate a couple of bites and took it to go. I always wash the spices off of leftover meat so I can give it to my Aussie, she walked away from the steak. That said, this was not a very good experience. I took my husband here for his birthday today. I tried the new 12oz lemon garlic chicken which had a fantastic sauce on two good size breasts. So, had a disappointing dinner at Longhorn on Causeway tonight. Just after main course was served a cockroach came popping out onto the table. Not sure if it came out of the flickering light fixture, from the wainscot trim, sugar caddy, my dinner plate or elsewhere. Calmly notified the waitress who gave me a wad of napkins to squish it. Manager came by and said he'd give us a discount on the meal and gave a very weak, brief apology. Food was only mediocre, and salads, soups, appetizers and main course all hit the table within a 15 minute timeframe. Now that the bug issue was on my radar, during the meal I then spotted a dead one on the booth ledge, and a live one hanging out on a ceiling air vent. Manager's discount was a very lame %10. Tried Longhorn again last night because I had a $25 gift card. Staff and server was super friendly.....only complaints is we ordered a wine and a beer right away and it took quite a long time to receive. I ordered the 6oz Sirloin and boyfriend ordered the 9oz, they were both cooked perfectly and were tender and delicious....will definitely go back for these! As a side we both had the mashed potatoes which I have bragged on before, they are delicious and so buttery! I upgraded mybsalad to the French Onion Soup which was a $2.89 fee and well worth it as I have previously said their French Onion Soup is so delicious and extra cheesy! Boyfriend got the Caesar Salad which was very good but just a warning you can definitely detect the anchovies in their Caesar Dressing, we don't mind but some people may not like that. Bread was better this time as it was still hot and they actually gave us plenty of butter which I find many place are skimpy with the butter. We had a coupon for a free appetizer I found on retailmenot.com and opted for their chicken wings. I will say they look nothing like the picture and could have used some more seasoning as the advertisement picture depicts but they tasted great and were super crispy just the way I like them. I like that the buffalo sauce is served on the side and the wings are not tossed in it which often makes them less crispy and their blue cheese dressing was fantastic. read more
