Had some windows made by this company, had a man come out who's name started with a K cussing and throwing stuff cause he was struggling with some specialty shaped window measurements and things falling. That should of been my first sign to maybe look else where, second was told windows would be made in 10-14 days took an extra week ok a little more understandable, then when dropped off was asked for payment while my partner was taking care of this issue. Third issue is they were rude when dropping off windows saying they knew how to do their job, when we never questioned that just wanted answers so if our customer had questions we could answer them. Well turns out one window wasn't made while we had two windows extra that didn't march any size of window that was ordered. Called they looked for it and then called to have it remade best thing they did it was rushed but since it was rushed the glass was scratched, so the replacement window wasn't trying to be rushed again to possibly show up at the end of the week great but for sure Monday ok. Well it is Tuesday still no window and they haven't gotten it either and now I won't get it until Wednesday when the weather will be starting at 35 degrees. At this point I'm asking about some kind of reimbursement cause this has already delayed the project I have going on for days let alone the week extra to get started. Go in circles with the owner who makes these decisions is out of the office, the women who makes these calls isn't in, I have to take this up with the manufacturer, the owner of the company will have to get back to you on that. Yet no one has gotten back to me about it. I've dealt with a warehouse person possible the manager who doesn't like when you have. Questions about their answer or more the one question because it's nothing they can do, or it's not their fault. Told me the people who talk to about getting a reimbursement would have to be the manufacturer but then changed it to the owner of the company. Told me to call and hung up, did t give a number didn't ask if I needed or had any other questions very poor customer service. I call the office to speak to Terry I'm on hold for 5-10 mins the. Jim gets on the phone says Terry is in meeting he can call me when he gets out that was around 11:30 I had to call back around 2:40 to follow up and they said he left out of the office for personal reasons. So again I'm not having my issues resolved. I haven't gotten questions answered in the best of light and seems when you have more then one question more then just one staff member doesn't like it. I will not be working with them again and hope others will chose a company that values everyone's times. Oh and if we didn't pay in full when they requested they would repo our windows even though they made errors. Great job Longhorns! read more

They are quick and efficient. Sloppy. I have had to get new windshields in the past and quite frankly I look forward to it as the new window is usually pristine until the dust settles or it rains. Not is this case. I got the dirtiest window INSIDE and OUT. Plus there was black greasy stuff left on my uphostery, the head liner, and more. I asked it get get cleaned. It was cleaned minimally. After taking it home I continued to find black greasy stuff...it was on my hands after closing the door and more. Basically the condtion of the waiting room equates to the filthiness of the job. But the price was good and I figure I can clean my own window for the price difference. Actually a street guy did it for me and he did a great job. I am very impressed. My vehicle had been vandalized over the weekend; Both driver side windows smashed. No full coverage insurance, so I had to find someone to replace them for a (hopefully) reasonable price. I called around to various places, and came to the conclusion rather quickly that I was more than likely going to end up paying quite a bit more than I was hoping to. Until my boss recommended Longhorn's. He's the real MVP for that recommendation. My car was hit hard in hail storm 09 and most places were quoting me a long wait time to get it fixed. Seeing as how I have no back visibility now, time was of the essence. Longhorn assured me that they could come out the following day between 1-5 to fix my glass. Time passed and no call, no show. I had taken off work and was at home waiting. I called to find out if they were planning on coming and they said the call volume was too high and they couldnt fit me in... and were planning to call me"sometime.." But if I wanted to come in ( and wait in a long line) I could come in today. I declined. They said they could come out tomorrow sometime..but did not want to quote me a time because they didnt want to make me mad. I am mad. If they show up tomorrow, do a quick and cheap job and I have no more problems, i might modify my review. But right now I am seriously Pissed off. EDIT My review is still a one. They called at 8 to say they were going to come within the hour. Then they called at 9 to say I was next on the line up. Then they never came. So I called them back. They said they would call me back and waited 40 minutes, they said I was once again, next up, then no one came again. Then I called them and the woman said she didnt want to lie to me about the time they were coming , that they couldnt reach the dispatcher and they would call me back. They never did. Now, 6 hours later, the phone has been put directly to a message function, with no way to talk to a human being. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!! Please, save your sanity and your phone bill ( from so many repeat phone calls) and go somewhere else! Some dweeb broke one of my car windows. I decided to get the crack in my windshield taken care of as well. I called around to several places, and Longhorn Glass was the best deal by about $50. They actually came out to my place to fix it, so that was really convenient. I'd give them five stars, but the guy who came out to install my window was kind of wacky. I like friendly people, but this guy was telling me his whole life story. I'm not a therapist, and I don't know what I did to give him the impression that I might be happy to hear his Holden Caulfield like world view. Some wanker broke into my car a dew days ago and completely shattered my passenger window. My dad found out about Longhorn Glass and called them up for me. They came to my apartment within an hour and the guy was as nice as he could be. He said it would be about 45 minutes and then they called up to say it was done, and it had only been 30! At the same time he was apologizing for it taking so long and explained to me how they popped my window and pointed out where they had shoved a screwdriver into the door panel. Somehow a window broke on my two-year old home. My builder's rep told me to get in touch with XYZ Company. I submitted a request on their web site. After 3 days I telephoned..."Oh, sorry, nobody monitors that web site anymore...can you submit a request by email?" So I did. And waited. After a week, I called again and they sent someone to look at my window. Another week went by and XYZ was ready to install my window, then I found out that what they ordered wasn't what I requested (argon-filled, sealed double-pane). XYZ told me that no one in Austin used argon-filled, i.e., making me out like a liar. I sent them packing. On to ZZZ Company. "Oh, we don't do that. But you might call Longhorn Glass." Yay! Longhorn had a crew not far away and they surveyed the damage the same day. They gave me a price and ordered the EXACT replacement on the same day. A few days later, a very nice fellow came and repaired my window. My wife was really appreciative of the conscientious and professional service. What a joy to work with these fine people! Thank you. My windshield finally cracked all the way across...so I had to fix it fast. It was buckling under the air pressure from my way to fast driving for my own good. I called these guys and the price was good and they could get to it quickly. Little to the knowledge of the receptionist, the manager had scheduled out the installer to make a quick run to their other shop in town. But , much to my happiness, she put the run on hold and had my windshield repaired immediately. I was very happy with the service and I can only comment on how nice they were. Great service, and by far the best price of any glass shop in town. Needed a new windshield for my 95 Mustang Convertible. Called just about every glass shop in town. The prices were all about the same, at around 300 for the glass, plus a bit more to install. Called Longhorn, and they quoted my a price that was about $100 lower than everyone else. And they said they could come out the next morning and install the glass at work. The technicians were there 15 minutes before the appointment time, got my keys, and went right to work. Done in less than an hour, and things are as good as new. No leaks, no issues, and they even managed to get the toll tag and state stickers off the old glass and on the new. While I hope that the glass lasts a long time, if I need to go back, I will do so without hesitation. read more

Well, all I can hope is they were just having a really bad day when they replaced the two windshields on my motorhome last week, because I am SO unimpressed! All the great reviews here convinced me this was the place to have my two cracked windshields replaced. Started off with Adam showing me a chip in the fiberglass of the motorhome to make sure I knew it came in that way. No problem - I knew about that. Then he showed me how the black rubber seal was not really covering the gap between the glass and the motorhome in a small area on the bend, which would let in water. He said he could fix that when the glass was replaced - he would make sure the rubber strip was placed correctly with no gap and sealed all around. Great! But when the windshields were replaced and I went inside to check out the view, I noticed a small crack on the side of one of the windshields! I showed it to Fred (the manager) as by that time Adam was gone. He said he didn't know if Adam had done that while installing or if it came in that way and wasn't noticed during installation. First warning bell went off in my head... That's when I went over to the other side to see how they had fixed that gap. And there were 2 nice sized chunks out of the fiberglass! Not only that, but the gap was even larger now where you could stick your finger in the space between the glass and the rubber seal. WTH Fred??? He said he would order a new windshield and when I came back to have it installed, he would make sure the dings in the fiberglass were covered by the rubber seal and resealed all around on the other window. So that's where I am at the moment - sharing my experience with Yelpers while spending yet another day dealing with this and hoping and praying that they can really fix it this time without causing more damage and delay to my hitting the road again! Adam explained that the glass kinda "fell down" on the fiberglass when he was installing it and that's what caused the chips. Again, Fred said they could cover it with the rubber and seal, but I don't exactly have all the confidence in the world in these guys now. Why wouldn't Adam have done that with the seal once he saw what he had done in the first place if that were posible? Will report back once they're finished again. Fred is doing the work today. Like I said, I understand crap happens sometimes and mistakes can hopefully be fixed, but I certainly can't recommend them for motorhome windshields based on my experience so far! Update after repairs today: I upped the star count because they were able to fix the gap issue (although I've seen neater work) and they didn't crack the second windshield this time putting it in, thankfully. However, if you ask me whether I'd go back to them if I had another choice, nope... read more

After my car was broken into yesterday, I didnt know what to do. My insurance company told me it would be a $999 fix for two busted windows. Luckily, I called Longhorn. Fabulous, affordable service! Someone broke into my car this week, smashing the windows out (and then they didn't even take anything. Dick move!) so I needed a replacement, and I wasn't about to pay $300 for a new window somewhere. After I picked up a replacement window for $65 at Aaron's Auto Parts, I called around for installation quotes. A few places told me they wouldn't install customer-provided glass. One place told me they didn't normally do glass (well that makes me confident) but would do it for $80. Longhorn not only agreed to do it for $65, but they could squeeze me in immediately. Few years ago my brother had a broken window and we took his car to Longhorn Glass, their service was great and the price even better. Two weeks ago I took my car to them without even comparing prices because of the service they had offered before. Well, the day I took my car to them after they finished my car was not starting at all, they blame on the battery but it had never given me problems before, after we jumped started my car it has not have problems again, I'm not sure what they did to kill the battery. Also, when they were trying to remove the molding that goes on the side of the windshield they broke the plastic that holds it in place because they didn't know how to remove it. After I told them over the phone about the problem they sent a person to fix it and he verbally told me he didn't know how to do it because it was his first time working on a fix like that and he only had 4 months working for them. after 2 hours of trying to fix it with a nasty glue he did a horrible job and the problem is still there. At this point I'm not sure if I want to take it back to them because I'm afraid they can do more damage and it will be worst. read more

I needed the windshield replaced on my '01 Honda Civic, so I needed to find a glass repair shop that was reliable, had mobile service, and guaranteed the job. After shopping around a little bit, they came out and did the job for $169 with tax, fully installed. The replacement windshield was made by Pilkington, and the only thing that I didn't like about it was that it had a glare strip at the top. The replacement was almost seamless, but I could see that the molding didn't go back quite flush with the body, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Other than that it was excellent. Found this place right here on yelp.com as it was highly rated. I mentioned that to the person who answered the phone and she said "we're getting a lot of that". Good job, fellow yelpers! read more

this was, by far, the easiest repair shop to deal with. i called up and a very nice lady helped me obtain a very reasonble quote to get my windshield replaced. we set it up for the next day....with my request for them to come to my work location and do it in the parking lot. the morning comes, and i receive a few phone calls letting me know they are on the way. the guy who replaced my windshield was very kind and laid-back. i came out to inspect it and couldn't have been more pleased. i was able to call in after the work was done and give my card for payment. i really liked that option. longhorn glass has their shit together. i wouldn't hesitate in highly recommend them to my yelpers. read more

Two days ago I walked out of Rio Rita to find my car missing a passenger side window. The trauma of this event was enough, so I wanted the window replaced quickly and easily. I found this and much more in Longhorn glass. They offer you the option of having the glass repaired or replaced at your work or home. I opted to go by the office, and my glass was replaced within a few hours of me calling to get the quote. My only complaint is about the waiting room. It could really use some spring cleaning, but in the end that's a minor inconvenience to have a service completed so quickly and effectively. Also their operator is tops! Horribly bad customer service. I ordered 5 panels of glass. The delivery guy dropped them off and one was chipped. I had to call daily for a week to get a replacement delivered two weeks later. Worst part - I found out later they had shaved down the chipped panel and brought it back instead of delivering a new panel at the right size. Sad! read more

Well we purchased a travel trailer on Sat, and the master bedroom window had just been replaced on Wed., in bringing the trailer home the same window completely came out of trailer frame and all. It gashed the side of the travel trailer leaving pieces of glass stuck in the body. After many phone calls and frustration they send a tech to look at the window, who basicly says "looks like you removed the screws"? Seriously? Maybe your technician never replaced the screws to begin with. Yeah..... we go buy a travel trailer for our family and break a window and gash it up just for the hell of it. Still no results on fixing it, they will not even call us back, and my phone call to Maria this morning was useless.....she was so APATHETIC which seems par for the course with these guys. She stated can I get a number from you I have other lines waiting, and I began telling her that we had been waiting since Monday, and that something needed to be done, and she says "yeah, so can I get that number now to call you back" Once this deal is over with They will NEVER see our business or the business of anyone we know. Technician was in a hurry, chiseled up dash with power tool and broke the vent cover. Careless glue application with excess smeared on paint. Called the center to report incident and they would only send technician back out who blamed the problems on us. The man who came dragged the broken glass through my yard spilling shards of glass all over my lawn, and when he put the door back on, it no longer slides, and I can't get it to close. He offered to fix the sliding that he broke for an additional payment. Now I have to hire another company to fix the door that Longhorn broke, and there is glass in my lawn. read more
