The Ultimate Customer Service Story…read more We chartered a bus and coach for our daughter's wedding in Austin on March 30th. As the Father of the Bride I was shocked when the bus that showed up to bring our guests to the church was a school bus. After the ceremony I called Abdul to address my concern. After speaking to him it became clear that in reality the mistake was ours, not his. We had chartered a "transit" bus, which when you look on the website is a school bus. I wish the contract was more specific; as "school bus" certainly would have jumped out. But live and learn. Now to the good part. With my frustration high, Abdul was calm, cool and reasonable. He immediately realized I was not happy and kicked into high gear to see what he could do. While we had to take the school bus back to the hotel, by the time we left for the reception...less than one hour later...a gleaming full scale motor coach was sitting in front of the hotel instead of a school bus. Wow! I can't thank Abdul enough for stepping up. I was thoroughly impressed. When it comes to satisfying customers in a crisis, Austin Charter Services proves that it can still be done the old fashion way...do whatever you can to make your customer happy. I'll be back again some day for the next daughter. Thanks Abdul! Mike McCauley Argyle, TX P.S. The coach we ordered for the wedding party was perfect and the drivers were top notch.

Not exactly what I wanted to see at such a moment. As it turned out later, technically, the error was in our order, but it would be nice if this detail was spelled out more clearly. After the appeal, the situation was quickly corrected, and by the next stage of the incident we were waiting for a much more comfortable transport solution. This made a positive impression, especially considering that there was a reaction and a desire to correct the situation. The drivers were professional, the organization on the routes - without significant failures. There are things that can be improved in terms of communication and transparency in the choice of transport, but in general the experience remains rather positive.

This is a written part of their policy but that does not excuse that this a major theft of money. I had a family emergency that has caused me to cancel my trip with ample notice and this is a joke of a cancellation policy. I remember 5 years ago, canceling a trip with flix bus only a few hours before my trip and getting a full refund back to my card.To be refunded barely a 3rd of the cost of my trip in essentially the form of a coupon is truly the height of corporate greed.

Have seen the driver deny access to people waiting 4 minutes before departure time, not to mention the people who arrived less than 4 minutes to departure time, but still before departure time. Have also seen the driver on the Dallas to Houston trip make a student buy them snacks. Like when the student didn't immediately say okay to paying for his snacks, he stared her down and repeated himself until she got off the bus and walked to the counter to pay for his snacks. This is coercement. She probably only paid because she was afraid he'd leave her stranded at the midway stop instead of her destination. If this system wasn't essentially the only reliable way to travel between these cities without relying on carpooling with strangers, I would not be using it. One way tickets on Friday/Sunday were $30-$40 each on a random non holiday week, so the trip wasn't extremely cheap either.

Megabus - Babysitters, that's the look of contentment that was experienced due to the relaxing trip provided by Megabus.

I really wasn't in the mood to drive, last minute ticket prices were outrageous, and the airports would have definitely been insane. Fortunately, a buddy told me about Megabus! "A mega what??!!" I believe was my initial reaction. After hearing a little bit more and taking a look at their website, I purchased a round trip ticket to Austin. I have no regrets. The bus was clean, the drivers were friendly, and the other passengers were all polite and well behaved unlike my experience on another bus line that I used in the past on a couple of occasions. With the exception of the employee who worked at the Downtown Austin location, it was a pleasant experience. Note to the employee at that location: It's not cute when you make disparaging remarks behind a customer's back when the other passengers are looking down your throat...no, Ma'am! That's really the only negative part of my little holiday review. Give Megabus a try. I'll consider them again if I'm traveling to another close Texas city in the future. Speaking of not cute, I was not feeling cute in these two attached pics while riding on Megabus, but I just wanted to convey the contentment that I experienced on my ride. Buenos dias, Ya'll!

Don't want to drive to Austin? This is your answer. My friends and I booked our tickets online…read more We arrived at Fuel City Taco/Carwash to catch the bus on a Saturday morning. Arrived in Austin within 3ish hours. The sucky thing is the seats are really small. You are cramped up. The charging stations at each seat is just a plug. No USB charging here. The free wifi sucks as well. The good thing is if the bus isn't full you can move to another seat. Our first bus driver was a chatty Kathy, but I had earpods in and watched nexflix on my phone. Our driver on the way home gave a Sunday sermon before we left Austin and it was awkward. All in all. Put your earbuds in and sit back, relax (if there's room) and let someone else take the stress out of your drive to and from Austin. The drive goes by so fast. PS - looking at the photos - we did not get a double decker bus to or from Austin.
