Went here for a birthday dinner. The restaurant takes the Covid hazard seriously, and implemented the necessary requirements. The beer selections were really good. The food, from the entrees to the desserts, were amazing. I appreciated that their fish option was locally sourced steelhead, not farmed salmon. The service was top rate as well, regularly dropping by to ask if we needed anything. The building, with wood mill machinery and beautiful timbers creates a nice ambiance. My only two minor gripes: 1) A vegetarian entree option. Yes, I know this place is run by a logging company with a love for all things meat. But just throw some meatless patties in the freezer for the occasional vegetarian. It's easy to do, and costs very little. Hummus and salad isn't the best entree for a vegetarian and many families and groups have vegetarians in the mix. Even my meat-loving conservative mother is vegetarian for health reasons and not having this option means a family might have to pick another place to eat. 2) The metal chairs get uncomfortable after about a half hour. Some cleanable seat cushions would be an appreciated benefit. Overall though, this place is very much worth the drive. The building has many beautiful log beams and the atmosphere is really inviting and warm. The food is also amazing. They're menu isn't very big, but everything on it is absolutely delicious! The whole place is beautifully designed and built, following the "timber" theme. The bar is fun and beers delicious (I love wheat and I love their wheat!)!! We even got to sit outside on fun stools while waiting for our table. Our food was delectable - we ordered two Carving Boards so we could sample each of their four meats. We have been meaning to check this place out for awhile and decided to swing by since the heat was too hot to cook at home. We had a short wait to get seated. The building is lovely and well designed. I wasn't a huge fan of the gigantic tables as it made you feel super far away from the people you are sitting with. Service was painfully slow and we finally got our meals but it took 1 hr. The food was pretty good. I had the steak,my boyfriend had the tuna and our daughter had the hummus plate. This place's worst problem is also their greatest treasure: location. Being located in nowhere, USA means you wont get excessive walkins, barhoppers, or one-n-done drunks. Which means, they lose some sales, but make up for it by the quality of patrons that come in. Those that wish to come out need to drive from outlying towns for a visit. Which means you have patrons who come out and APPRECIATE what you have. Because of this, they thought ahead and have LOTS of parking (both lot and street). The building is massive like a ski lodge, yet feels intimate like a cabin. Several dining zones from upstairs, outdoors, private rooms, and bar create lots of new areas for you to try. They have good staff, lots of beer variety, happy bartenders, fair pricing, and excellent food. I have noticed that the portion size is beginning to get smaller for the price, but hey- welcome to 2022. Inflation sucks. But this place does not. Give them a try. read more

Fried chicken sandwich was sweet and savory, the triple meat sandwich is so good on toasted sourdough, the grilled cheese was decadent! And the side salads with ranch! Truck broke drown near Alsea Falls Sunday night and it was past dinner so we tried to stop into Long Timber Brewing Company but was rudely turned away. Why? Because we were one mask short. My husband was willing to walk out to meet my daughter with my mask after we were seated. Once you are at your table you take your mask off anyway... Wonderful spot. Beautiful restaurant. Good food. It will be a bit of a wait. We've been there twice and they do a great business-once on a Wednesday night before a holiday and yesterday late Sunday afternoon. Expect to wait about 30 minutes once you're seated for your food to arrive but it is worth the wait. Very attentive staff so your drinks will always be refreshed while you wait. We have sat both inside and out. Noise level not a problem even when to capacity. They didn't spare any details when they designed this place. Highly recommend. I'm not a big meat eater and I've been twice a plan on returning soon. I had the turkey sandwich and it's the real deal. The beer is interesting. I recommend a taste as well. read more

I'm afraid this place won't last. The menu describes fabulous food and we were so excited to try it but the execution fails miserably. My sandwich had way too much breading, came out cold and soggy bun and cold fries. I politely let the waitress know the fries were cold and she got me new ones. Totally not her fault she was helpful. However the fries are so bad! They double fry them so they are over done and full of grease. When you bite in you just get a mouthful of grease. Yes, like many, we went to Longtimber the first time a month after opening. The place was in disarray, the bartender was too busy flirting, the host/hostess (we never saw one) was absent, folks were sitting with frowns at all the tables. We gave them another month, went back on a slow Monday afternoon and had a wonderful beer and lunch. Just went back again yesterday. They have a new manager who greeted us and asked our opinion of service and food. He was truly engaged and interested in our opinion. We once again had a great time, food and beer was excellent. A fellow diner at an adjacent table had a salad with 'dead' wilted leaves. He pleasantly mentioned it to his waitress, who took it to the kitchen but didn't offer him a refund, apology or replacement. They are still needing a bit of fine tuning. read more

I've been here twice now. Food is great. Building is beautiful and atmosphere is nice. Ordering beer is not convenient but it was pretty good...I had their IPA and my wife had their wheat beer. Service was horrible. You can tell the owners do not know how to run a restaurant and the waitstaff are at the mercy of an unorganized kitchen. The first time was a bad experience but felt it was because they were busy (overwhelmed) and had not been open for long. The second time was a Monday evening and wait time was 1 hour to be seated then another 1 hour to get food (overwhelmed again). I won't go into detail about the "attitude" I got from the greeter. Now keep in mind the wait time is relative to how long people are waiting for their food not popularity. This place isn't any busier than any other decent restaurant in Eugene. I will try it one last time as I REALLY want them to be successful but if I have to wait 2 hours for a meal and then get "attitude" from the greeter I will spend my money elsewhere and share my experience with others. read more

Aggressively Mediocre I don't often right reviews, particularly bad ones, but this experience stuck with me. It's concerning when a restaurant can't even correctly toast bread and that pretty well sums up my dining experience at Long Timber Brewing. I'll do my best not to go on too much about the decor as that's not as important as the food and service but it's still worth noting. I'd sum it up as an attempt refined rustic logging. This oxymoronic theme makes little sense to me but to each their own. The faux cabin tone of the restaurant seems like it'd be more at home in a tourist town then on its own where it is. The beer was that best part and... it was not good. Not exactly bad or bland but more like they decided this was good enough and then expanded their beer list. I tried four IPA's. Two were generic IPA tasting, one a bit skunky, and one, the imperial IPA, would have been barely passable if it had been listed as a standard IPA. The food was the worst part with the service a close second. Before I continue on I should as if is there a major shortage in the world's salt supply that I missed in the news. I mean, that would not explain everything but it would account for some of the problems with the meal. I sat at the bar on a weekday night when the restaurant was about half full. It took almost an hour from when I ordered to when my food arrived... lukewarm. I by the time my sandwich was tossed in front of me I was too famished to send it back for the temperature... or any of the myriad of issues I had with it. Plus, the food was dropped off so quickly it felt like a culinary hit and run and getting the bartender's attention was taking more effort than my growling stomach afforded me. I ordered the sandwich on sourdough bread and if someone had never tried sourdough they would still know this is not it. It was toasted far too much making most of what was between the slices push out the sides every time I tried to gnaw through the bread. It also had the lovely effect of scratching the top of my mouth enough that I could feel little tendrils hanging down on my way home. It was not great. Additionally, what was inside wasn't worth the battle with the bread! The blandness and small portion of brisket was underwhelming and the garlic aioli had little flavor. The hard green center of the tomato was more inline with my expectations for a fast food restaurant. This was served with about half a shot glass worth of unremarkable barbecue sauce. To be fair, I didn't use all of that small portion of sauce. To be more fair, I would have needed much more if it had tasted better. Then there were the fries. They were fine, a bit greasy but fine. After the ordeal Long Timber Brewing calls "dinner" was over it was time to pay and leave. This was also more of an obstacle then excepted, especially when sitting at an uncrowded bar! As the bartender stood with his back to the bar, drying glasses at the kitchen island that inexplicably exists behind the bar, staring longingly out the window, I stared longingly at the back of his head for the attention needed to get my bill. Eventually he turned and asked if I wanted another beer. I requested the bill, paid quickly, and escaped to share this story. This was not the worst dining experience I've had (though maybe the worst in Oregon), or the worse beer, service, or food but it was bad. It's especially bad for the price of the meal. I can't see myself going back and a less than kind side of me hopes that "survival of the fittest" in the Oregon brewery scene takes care of the problem that is Long Timber Brewing. read more

The building is very beautiful to bad the owners put so much money on building it and not on there staff. We went there for dinner got there about 4:20 and had to wait for a table not because they were full but because they were going through shift change so we waited for 40min then got seated and sat there for 20min until our waitress came and gave us water we ordered then we waited another 20min for our drinks that never got made so our waitress came back and retook our drink order then we waited again just to have our drinks sit on the counter bye the time I got mine my ice was melted in my glass. At this point we asked for our check and we wanted to leave they didn't charge us for anything but just gave us excuses. I will never go back to that place because the owner will probably shut it down because they will have lost money with that staff running it. read more

We went in on a Wednesday night and there were a lot of people there but there were also a few empty tables so we figured we would get seated quickly. They told us it was a 30 minute wait for a table so we sat at the bar instead. We did notice that they were understaffed and knew we would have to wait a little. Our drinks were great and the bartender was very nice. We ordered food mainly appetizers consisting of fries and cheese sticks but by the time those came around we were practically done with our drinks which we had been nursing. I really want to love this place.. We went back several months after the grand opening. I was looking forward to trying the Green Line Ahi sandwich as I love all the ingredients listed. It was supposed to come on "toasted" seeded wheat bread. Instead it was grilled ( like a grilled cheese) and tasted super greasy. I couldn't taste the ahi due to the overwhelming grease. Yuk! Waited almost one hour for our meals, had to ask for more ice tea, then had to ask for ice..nothing like warm ice tea..waitress never came back to ask if the meals were good. Fish and chips so greasy, coleslaw did not have any flavor, tuna one step above raw, not seared. 4 people with 4 different meals and none of us will return. What a great place. We stopped by late Friday and Saturday and did some wine tasting and got small apps in the wine bar. "Sweet Earth Vineyards". The whole place is new so expect and understand that the dinner rush will probably be busy. We came back Sunday for breakfast and it was delicious.
