I am not really sure what the "Average" reviews are all about. I almost never give 5 stars. This was a 5 star + experience. Not only was this newly minted establishment simply stunning inside, but the food was fantastic and our service was equally awesome. We shared the Humus Plate, which is not usually anything to write about...But WOW, Homemade Humus, Beautiful presentation and just a gorgeous appetizer!! I had the "Build Your Own" Carving plate. Which came with two meats (I chose the pork and brisket) and a side (I grabbed two...Camp Beans and Garlic Mashers). Totally impressed with the flavor and tenderness of BOTH meats. And while the brisket was a bit dry, it was still very flavorful. The pork was juicy and tender and full of great smoked flavor. Of course I had to try one of the brews and it did not disappoint either. I had the Belgian Cream ale with spices...Which was MMmmmmm Good! Last but not least, desert! We had the Gingerbread apple upside down cake. Also FANTASTIC. It would have been just really good, but the sour cream whipped cream atop it made this an epic treat! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They seem to have a safe COVID protocol in place. And the food was delicious! We found this place some what by accident, but so glad we did. They have a lot of cool lumber mill supplies and tools to look at while dining and outside - which my dad really enjoyed. We sat inside so there was no wait. The Choker (fried chicken sandwich) with jalapeño sauce on the side. The perfect amount of breading on the chicken, pickles to compliment the sandwich and the great balance of flavor and spice in the sauce. Tim's Triple Chopped - all the meat was cooked perfectly, the pickles add a nice crunch and the sauce was flavorful but not overly potent. (Note: The first time we ate at this restaurant, we had lunch. I ate the "Fuss and Cheese", which was excellent. My husband had brisket, which was over cooked and dry. Drinks were "okay".) We decided to take the entire family of 8 there for my husband's birthday last night. We called ahead to reserve a table, but were told that they don't take reservations. When we arrived, we saw and heard other people leaving, saying that they had wasted a trip because they couldn't get in. We walked in at 6pm and were told by the hostess, "It will be more than an hour wait. I'm sorry." We chose to wait since we had driven so far. (Weird design thing...as you're standing on the porch waiting, look at the "outside" bar stools. Cool idea, but there are more stools than there is window! When the bar is open, the end stools are cut off by the folded windows! Not really a complaint...just rather odd.) We were seated within 30 minutes. (It is BAD practice to tell your customers that there will be a longer wait than there is because you were clearly losing business!) The place is stunning and decorated beautifully. We were then taken upstairs, where all 8 of us were seated at a table for 4! We were so squished around the table and people had to sit on the corners. First we ordered a round of drinks. The margaritas were served in small lowball glasses that are NOT suitable for the cocktail. My Lemon Drop was extremely sour and bitter. Not at all what a Lemon Drop should be. (The Lemon Drop is a sweet vodka cocktail that tastes like the classic lemon flavored candy.) The Moscow Mule had such strong ginger beer in it that it burned the throat and was undrinkable. For our meals, we ordered the brisket with "Fuss and Cheese", 4 plates of the Shrimp Pesto Fettuccine, 2 Pork Medallions and an order of the "Logger Fries". The brisket was again terribly dry. (We warned our daughter not to order it!) The pork medallions were deep fried and overcooked and more like a dry chicken fried steak with a little gravy on top. The shrimp pesto fettuccine had a very bitter taste with too many roasted tomatoes and pickled artichoke hearts. It came with burnt toast. Lastly, the "logger fries" were just bizarre...covered in sour cream and of all things, radishes! Really? Radishes on fries? Every time we ordered another drink, or asked for a straw, or even utensils so that we could all eat...our server rolled her eyes and acted put out. I served tables for 12 years and it is NOT that hard to be nice. In the end, our tab was over $250 and not one of use enjoyed the meal. (Well, okay...maybe our teenage son did, but he inhales food like a jet engine sucks fuel and he likely didn't taste a thing.) Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to the Long Timber. We had such high hopes. The owners nailed it on the decor, but they missing the mark with cooking and wait-staff. If this isn't fixed, this beautiful restaurant will not survive. Nobody wants to drive to Monroe for expensive, inedible food or drinks and extremely poor service. We WANTED to love this place...but we were sorely disappointed. :( read more

Others that may have rated LTB badly because of the service or treatment of the staff must have had a really bad day or something. We were treated very well, quickly and nicely. The interior of this place is amazing, I wish I had walked around to look more closely at everything. There is a lot of space and separation of space, if needed. The main reason I am not giving Long Timber a higher star count is that their food, while the serving sizes are very generous and it looks and smells amazing, is otherwise lackluster. We had the quesadilla for the app, then my husband had the Long Timber Burger and I ordered the LTB Chicken Bowl. Everything looked really good, and honestly none of it was bad. The quesadilla was crisp without being stingy on the cheese and that was great, because too often you get a soggy quesadilla. It also came with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream on the side. The burger was huge, as was the bowl. The french fries were very good. But my husband said nothing stood out about the burger and the bowl looked amazing, but wasn't very flavorful. The chicken breading looked like something that should have been very rich, but honestly tasted like it might have been a bit burnt. So at $17 a plate and the drive out there, I would have expected a bit more flavor. The first beer my husband tried he said was very disappointing, he almost didn't finish it. He thought perhaps the beer itself had gone bad, I wasn't aware that was possible. Sorry I don't recall which one it was that he tried. But his second brew was much better. From the look of this beautiful building and the time And money obviously spent I was expecting more than average. Agree that the chef needs to bump it up a bit. Batter that doesn't stick to fish means that the fish was wet or frozen. Cole slaw was bland... seasoning for heavens sake is easy, do it. Some of the beer was over carbonated so I suggest letting it sit for a bit. The Hazelnut Brown was much better after blowing off some CO2. Kinda sad because it could be so much better. read more

On college ball game days or times when the traffic to/from either city is heavy, the wait may be a bit long. I've had takeout from this place and it was excellent so I grabbed my son and made the short drive from junction City to dine in. So first of all it's a very open space with 30'ceilings and gorgeous. A beautiful staircase takes you up to the loft and gives you a quick tour of some of the old timey decorations along the way. The first floor has a garage door that appears to open up in the summer and leads to a patio area with a fire pit. The ambience overall gets an A from me. The service was on point. Our server was Jenny who has served me at other places over the years so I was glad to see her here. I got to try the soup before ordering which is nice. Service gets an A from me. The food is as good or better than anything in Eugene or Corvallis. The rotisserie chicken and gravy is hard to beat. The turkey is excellent and my son loves the burgers. So far the food gets an A+. Had lunch here on a rainy weekday. Despite the cavernous setting it was warm and intimate. We had a great lunch and a good visit. Service was fast and pleasant. My friend had the pesto deviled eggs and I had the lumberjack fries. No skimping on the bacon with that one. Couldn't finish it was so large and rich. A very pleasant Saturday lunch spent with my grandmother and a friend. We enjoyed looking at all of the REAL wood from the ACTUAL wood mill that was in every detail of the building from the tables and chairs to the wall decor and more. They also looked like they had a nice event room that you could book for private events or even a wedding. The food was excellent and the service really was phenomenal by our own server and others that I also observed. This is a great family place during the day- or a fun get together at night. I didn't try any beer but they had lots of options to try! It felt like I was part of the local community just stopping in for a bite to eat. Pros: very welcoming warm feeling when you first walk in. Food is amazing and worth the price, recommend the Irish fries as appetizer. Drinks are just as good. Staff is very friendly and helpful, bit pricey but I think worth the price for most of the items ( hope they lower some prices down the road ) Cons: have got to ether train the hostess better or make sure when busy there is two staffed there all the time. We waited almost 10 minutes to even get our name down , the hostess asked for our name and didn't even write it down, we asked two times how long of a wait and she didn't even acknowledge the question, that's when she finally wrote our name down. Now the couple in front of us waited just as long and the hostess didn't even acknowledge them standing waiting, even when she was waiting for other customers to grab their belongings and to be seated. Please give a simple - I'll be with you in one minute or hold on one second. Please consider adding seating for waiting indoors, the long table near the window is very nice but some of that space could easily be used for sitting while people wait. Our waitress was very good, but I believe a bit frazzled since after we barely finished our appetizer she asked if we wanted our check , I reminded her it would be nice to first get our meals before she gives us our check. The wait time for our food took almost 30 minutes for our meals. Now with all of this I would still highly recommend this place to anyone, and will be going back for more. I would chalk most of this up to the crew still learning the ropes and what ever kinks there is will be worked out. If owners are reading this please take it as constructive criticism. I was very impressed! Came here for dinner about two weeks after opening and the food was amazing. I ordered the Steelhead with a baked potato. The meal came rather quickly and was a good temperature. Also had the wings for an appetizer and they were really good. The service was fine as well and the building is beautiful. What a fantastic place in Sichuan unusual location. It's not a quick drive from Eugene, but it is an easy one and well worth it to the little town of Monroe that was/is little more than a small blip of a town on the map between Eugene and Corvallis on Hwy 99. The acoustics are horrible in the building but the food is delicious! read more

It was So crowded and they are so short handed we couldn't even get in. We had a lovely visit and meal at the pizza place across the road.

Very disappointing. The building is great looking. We stood and waited to have someone stop to seat us. The waitress was nice but the food was notty impressive at all. Worst potato salad by far. The chili wasn't good. I had the prime rib dip sandwich and it was awful. Not much meat and a whole lot horseradish. Awful. Id never make it a stop to eat and for ther price of food it should be so much better. The berry peach cider was great They need to step the food up.. total thumbs down read more

We were told to check out Long Timber Brewing in Monroe, Oregon. First of all, we did not know that Monroe, Oregon even existed. Secondly, we were surprised to see Long Timber Brewing was such a beautiful building. The inside is simply amazing with timber structure. The river table near the entrance actually looks like a river flowing thru the beautiful wood table. Then, the food......I had a hamburger with french fries. It was very good! My husband had the Mac n cheese with sausage. He is picky and really liked it. We highly recommend this restaurant and brewery. Oh and the beer was excellent!!!! read more

I was looking for a place that would allow my dog to join me for dinner. We went out for a hike and needed dinner on our way home. We had the smothered chili cheese fries and the sight of this appetizer is mouth watering. I had the Long Timber burger and it was mile high, hot, and juicy. My husband had the fish and chips, the fish was piled high, golden brown and steaming hot. The tarter sauce is tangy and tastes homemade. I ordered a small Cesar salad and it blew me away. The dressing is homemade on site, thick and creamy it has amazing flavor I couldn't stop eating it. I was so sad that my salad was all gone that I ordered one to go home for my lunch the next day! We come here often but realize you're going to spend a significant amount more money especially if you're a family with kids than most restaurants. Firstly, I like the place. Food and beer great. Enough said on that. I do have a separate issue related to their need to be political. As of yesterday, the business has a sign blaming the governor for a need to wear masks. They even have a handwritten 'funny' sign with her number if you have complaints. That has not been the case for weeks. Benton County leaves it up to the business. If they want you to wear a mask, fine. Stop putting it on liberals. They did a similar thing with dogs outside. While allowed by law, they chose to blame the law for their want to not have dogs by pointing to a health dept placard about dogs inside. They should stop passing the blame for their own unpopular choices onto their opponents. Especially in such a time of false and loose information. read more

This place is so great! The building is beautiful, they've done an outstanding job on the decor. I've been twice so far and both times the food was amazing, welcoming atmosphere & the history in the pictures is enough to make you want to go back for more. We enjoyed the meat plate, ahi skewers and salad. I look forward to my next adventure to the brewery. My Husband and I live in Monroe and have been SO excited to try this new Brewery! We came in last Sunday and sat down at the bar. The service was great and so was the food. The first time we tried to come it was a 2 hour wait, as to be expected being a new beautiful brewery. Today we are here for Father's day with my in-laws and it's still a wait, but we know it is worth it. Not every new business is going to be perfect opening up so if you've never worked in customer service and you aren't a patient person then you should find somewhere else to go. It takes a lot of time and good employees to get a business running smoothly. These people are doing the best that they can with the amount of stress they have on them. We will definitely continue to come back! Thank you for opening such a beautiful place! I've been in the lumber industry for almost 5 years now so I really appreciate the art behind this building! The fries were awesome, the beans - meh. They have 3 different bbq sauces; tried 2, liked 1. The house- made pickles were not good- but I don't care for pickles anyway.
