We went for breakfast and man, they definitely serve it "logger" style! Very large portions. We had the short stack pancakes (two extra large and thick pancakes), the breakfast burrito (also very large), and one of the skillets. All was great and everyone had leftovers! I met a friend from Eugene here because it was half way from Corvallis. It was great, staff was friendly and quick. I had the ahi tuna sandwich which was one of the best I have ever had. The hazy ipa was also quite tasty. Great spot to eat, collaborate and relax. Plus super big space with lots of room. read more

Beautiful workmanship and decor. Ahi tuna sandwich was amazing! Great coleslaw too! There were 4 of us and we all loved our food. One ordered fish & chips, BLT (not on the but made it and my brother said it was the best he had ever had) and my mom ordered an appetizer (prawns and grits) for her meal. This is a wonderful place to have a pleasant meal! The variety of selections is impressive and meets most any dietary demands. I am gluten intolerant and LOVE the Carving Board! Fresh vegetables and locally sourced ingredients is a huge plus for me! I can't speak for the beer, but they have hard cider, nice cocktails and Sweet Earth wine! Decided to wait until the dust settled since I could see that they were off to a rocky start. Our food was better than expected, maybe a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Our male server did a good job.Mixed drinks served in a small water glass, for the price a fancy glass would have made me feel better.I found the chairs very uncomfortable,had to set forward to be on padding but that made my back hurt because I couldn't lean back. One other thing was that the bar was too close to dining room tables, a low profile room divider might help. The trek from ground level to upper dining level is a little much,especially for servers, if there is a service elevator they weren't using it. Hope the owners continue to have deep pockets, their return on investment will definitely be long term. read more

We just stopped for a beer. The building is really cool and the atmosphere was just right. I had the IPA which was not very hoppy for an IPA and looked about the color of industrial megabeers. Not my fave. Almost didn't finish it. Should have got a tasting first. I almost would say it was skunky but maybe it was because they called it a brut IPA? Didn't taste like others I've had. The one star is for the long hair I found stuck in the batter of my fish and chips. Above all else, we saw a waitress eating in plain sight at the cashier and then go straight to waiting tables without washing her hands as well as another employee drinking a beer in plain sight while working the food run. Had the absolutely worst pub burger I have ever had. The meat was cold, the meat was tough and rubbery and had to have been cooked for two hours minimum prior to serving. It took 50 minutes to get our food and the wait staff seemed unconcerned. Really, really horrible. DO NOT have the burger at this place. They don't care what they put in front of you. This place needs a very serious overhaul at the management level. Please, please hire someone who knows what he or she is doing. read more

If I rated this restaurant by the decor it would get a five. It's a really cool building with tons of interesting historical articles and items to enjoy. We came with friends who claimed the food was great. Well, we must have caught them on a "off day". Not only was the food nothing to brag about, but it took forever, from time of order to putting it on the table. Now I heard from other friends about how great the food was. And the people we were with last Saturday are usually spot on. So why the highs and lows about the food really puzzles me. I tend to rate places pretty highly so if I go to this place again, I'll adjust my rating. All I know is I got a hamburger that had set a while and coleslaw that while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. My wife had the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and she gave it about the "meh" rating. For the price, I expect more than "meh". No domestic beers either and being a brew house, I get that. I did try one of their IPA's and a Pilsner and neither were my thing. But that's on me. Our server was friendly and kept us topped off with whatever everyone was drinking. As I said, I was really looking forward to going to this place but left pretty disappointed. read more

I'm conflicted. I love the architecture, ambiance, the local independent ownership of this lovely place. Worth going just for the experience. But they are still working the bugs out on this new restaurant. Some dishes were great, burgers, fish&chips. Beer on the lighter side, but good. The brisket and turkey were quality cuts, but dry and served cold with ice cold BBQ sauce that was inedible. The Fuss&Cheese had an off flavor, likely coming from the Andouille sausage that was maybe old and cooked until rubbery. This was our third visit, and our first actual meal, and it took an hour to get our lunch that was ordered at noon on Sunday 7/7/19, which was a lot considering it wasn't full and they appeared to have lots of staff running around. There are design flaws and inefficiencies. The waiters are taking food and drinks up and down the same stairs the public uses. Band stand blocks the walkway. Walk-in cooler is far from the kitchen and staff are walking thru the customer area with ingredients for the kitchen. Customers park in back and walk thru the seating area to get to the hostess in front. There are too many items on the menu, adding to wait times, and they haven't figured out all the recipes. That said, I'll go again because it is so lovely. But I'll wait until they figure out how to run a restaurant. read more

I REALLY wanted to have this place be something worthy of the building it inhabits. Unfortunately, the beer is.............mehh, and the service is ugggh. In this day and age, a brewery should be able to sleepwalk their way through a decent IPA: this isn't one. While it's cute and folksy that the owners run food to the tables and load dishwashers, they need to spend coin on a restaurant manager who can work out the many kinks this place has in it's inefficiency and quality of service. Having worked in the service industry, it is almost painful to watch this place work. Despite living five minutes away, I would rather spend the coin on a slice and a Boneyard at Benny's or running up to Block 15 in Corvallis before eating here again. On the positive, it is great what this has done to the Monroe landscape. read more

We (4 people) called on Sunday night at 6:15 inquiring about reservations and we were told there are no reservations taken at Long Timber, but told "there is plenty of room and no wait time." We drove from Corvallis to Monroe and the place had so many open tables and single seats at the bar and upstairs rail, but we were told we would have an hour wait because they just sat a "big party" of 12. The restaurants capacity to serve was challenged and the place was approximately half empty! Otherwise, last time we were there the food was good and the service was good enough. The building is stunning - so beautiful. Wish the parts of this place would live up and move together. We are rooting for you to succeed so we will come back another time. read more

Had to check it out for ourselves since we've been hearing about this place lately. First of all, I didn't remember the name so I tried to look it up by location. No luck. I had to wait to get there to see what it's called before I could find it on Yelp. Strange! Absolutely gorgeous building with the huge timbers. Excellent wait staff, very attentive. Food took 30 minutes to arrive at our table. I watched while one table at a time got their meals. I'm thinking there's only one cook! Not acceptable for a place that popular. Went for the first time. Party of 5. The wait would be 30 minutes. My husband and I thought that was odd since there were a lot of empty tables. We got a drink while waiting. Manhattan which my husband said was horrible and he knows his manhattan's. I got the vodka mule which had too much of the ginger. They actually just had containers with these already mixed and poured in glasses. They didn't have the martini glass for the manhattan. Waiter was very nice. We ordered, chicken wings, which were dry and burnt, pork medallions, which actually are cutlets now medallions and they were tasteless. Salmon was a little undercooked. Even with empty tables they make you wait, the food was not cooked to our satisfaction, and the drinks were just bad. We were hoping to have a nice dinner, not bar food. Not a whole lot of choices on the menu. We won't be going back. read more

It was great to visit this new restaurant in Monroe OR. My husband grew up in Monroe and we were excited to see the new place and the logging history of the town and the industry. The design of the building is amazing including giant beams and great lighting. The reason I am giving it 3 stars was based on the staff. No one from the bar tender to the hostess greeted us. We stood awkwardly at the bar waiting to order and were never acknowledged. We moved closer to the cash register and were able to flag down a bar tender but the interaction with him seems to be unpleasant for him. When our pager vibrates telling us to see the hostess to be seated we approached the counter for her to point to the corner and say "you're in the corner", without looking up or walking us to our seat. We took a seat "in the corner" and hoped we were right, by this point I felt like we were bothering them by being there. Our waitress came with the menus and was the only one to say hello to us. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our food. My dish was good but cold. I think if this place works on staff training they could really be great. read more

The reason this brewery is getting 2 stars is because of the beer. Every beer we had tasted good and went down smooth. The service is the reason they are getting a poor review. We waited over 45 minutes without speaking to our server and when I spoke to a manager regarding the lack of communication and service she came off that it was our fault that we didn't flag down our server. Mind you I had to order a beer at the bar because we hadn't even seen our server. The management was non-apologetic regarding the poor service and long wait. When our waitress finally delivered our food around an hour and 15 min after we ordered it she admitted she forgot to place the order. She apologized, but after being ignored for an hour it was a little too late. read more

This place is alright, the burger and fries were good. Service sucked, they sat us upstairs and it took over an hour to get our food(they weren't even that busy) the waiter checked on us maybe once. Their menu is a little "fancy" for my taste. They only have one type of burger on their menu and the rest is food I can barely pronounce. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful though. Figured I would give this place a little time to settle in. A month after they opened I went in on a week day. The building looks nice. I can't say anything about food or drinks because after 20 minutes of waiting be for even a drink order was offered I walked out. It wasn't even busy. You can not expect people to pay those prices for a nice building. It's about good service and that definitely did not happen. This is the second time my son had been there and the first time he had to take his food to go because it was so late. As a local I don't want to give a local place a bad review but it can't get better without knowledge. Fix your service and you may have a shot. read more

The beer is very good. The meat on the sandwich and burger was a bit over-cooked, but tasted good anyway. Appetizer fries and the camp beans were delicious. Seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed on a busy Friday night, so it took a long time for the food to arrive. I'd be willing to try this place again. Great ambiance and good beer. read more

Apparently the owners do not feel that this is their clientele- according to the manager ? Took a little trip around the valley today hitting antique stores. Finally stopped in Monroe, Oregon at the Long Timber Brewery. What a great facility. Greeted by Nicole our server she invited us to walk around and enjoy the experience. We started with a flight of four beer options for each of us. Then took them up on daily special a prime rib Swiss cheese and horseradish on a hoagie roll. Wow! That was amazing. Nancy my wife really enjoyed the home made blue cheese on her salad while I chose French fries that were also great. Good stop and we will be back. Nicole was knowledgeable and beyond pleasant.
