They have come back a couple times to treat for those "sugar" ants, and they didn't charge me extra outside my quarterly service like other companies would. If you have small kids/pets, we placed the ant bait where they couldn't get to, and also injected it into the crevices where they were coming from and wiped off the excess. They sounded good and started out good. I was disappointed with their communication. They would send a new person every time they showed up. Each time the quality of the visit lessened. I have two houses that I had them service and both of them were an unsatisfactory experience. My first house I had decided to cancel the service. that is when I was told I had signed up for a one year contract. I don't remember signing anything but, OK. one more visit and that was taken care of. Shortly after I fulfilled my obligation and canceled a tech shows up to treat my house. I informed him I had canceled, he called the office the verify that and he was given a vague response about a lack of communication from their end of thing. My second house was a repeat of that. But, they collected all their rodent stations and made a stack of them to be retrieved later. they made a couple calls stating they were coming to get them. Weeks later they were still sitting in a stack. I sold the house and had to get rid of them. So, i did just that sense they seemed to not care about coming to get them. Here we are, the last day, the new owners are given the keys and they show up to collect them. I told them I threw them away because I had to get rid of them and it is costing me 75.00 dollars. By far the best pest control company and they are local. This is my third home and I've used several big name corporations such as Terminex, Aptive, and Orkin. Long Pest Control is leaps and bounds superior to those companies. The initial treatment cost a little more but their quarterly follow ups are cheaper. They are also extremely thorough and responsive. We just bought the home and the initial inspection showed some evidence of a previous mice feces in the crawl space. Nothing alarming but we were concerned that the mice would return when the weather gets colder. I had recently severed my contract with Aptive so my experience with an exterminator was very fresh. I was so impressed with Long Pest Control from the very beginning. My initial service was several hours long (and came back two weeks later to ensure the initial service was sufficient) and it included laying down mouse traps. What was more impressive was the report that was emailed to me! See attached pictures. The technician pointed out the gaps in our foundation and the torn vapor barrier. We got quotes from other crawlspace companies and Long Pest Control crawlspace quote was $4000 cheaper. We had Long clean out our entire crawl space to include replacing all the vents in our crawlspace, covered up all the gaps that allowed pest to enter our home. It's been a month since our initial service and crawlspace cleanup and have had a quarterly service. No rodents were found! Long has since removed the rodent traps and put down bait stations through our the exterior of our home. Big shootout to Gene who did all of our initial service and crawlspace cleanup. I called after discovering a nest of yellowjackets(?) under a stump in my backyard. I was quoted over the phone, and the price was about 10% lower than the other lowest quote I got. We scheduled with no deposit for 36 hours later. The tech was right on time at the beginning of the window I was given! The work was done quickly and with a lot of valuable safety and aftercare type information from my tech to keep me and my dog safe. ONLY FINDING OLD DECAYED RATS NOW! Long Pest Control does a stand-up job. I'm writing this 3 months after first hiring them. My situation was dire. My dogs were cornering rats and because they're not killers, I'd have to bludgeon the home invaders with a shovel. I started having nightmares! There were so many rodents burrowing in my yard and creating damage in my home's crawl space. They had chewed into my heating ducts and more! Long Pest Control gave me tips BEFORE I even hired them. Example: Did you know that rats will NOT burrow through pea gravel? I pulled out my flower beds along my foundation and dug deep to fill it all in with gravel. Long Pest Control added new screens into my crawl spaces, built a new crawl space door to keep rats out and showed me all the places rodents had been chewing in the siding of my home. Then they set traps in the crawl space and strategically laid poison out in containers that my pets can not get into. Three months later ... I'm no longer seeing rats. There are not any new rat tunnels. I've removed dead rats from my property but they've been dead for a long while when I find them and Long Pest Control removed rodents from the traps they set as well. It didn't matter How clean we were or or how tight the bags of chips and food were stored away. They just kept coming back. It was to the point that even the ant spray bottles at home depot were not helping! I did a simple search of the area and found long pest control. I called and their customer service was very helpful answering all my questions and even educatung me on ants and their colonels, so made my appointments. They came to my house and removed a large hornets' nest. I was told that there was a very small chance that the hornets would try to build another nest and sure enough, they started one right away. I telephoned and reported the situation and Long's came back. When the exterminator arrived the nest was gone. He made a thorough check but couldn't find any hornets. He said that a bird probably got the nest; that sparrows will attack a hornets nest. He didn't charge anything for the follow-up because they honor a 30-day guarantee. Wonderful company! I am extremely particular. I also rarely log on to this account to actually leave a review. We previously had a rodent issue and used a different, larger pest control company. They did the bare minimum and it went away for a year then came back. When they came out to take a look, I had to ask them to go into the crawl space and had to ask them to set traps - they weren't going to do anything before I asked. I called Long. Not only was Ryan knowledgeable about pest control, he was knowledgeable about home construction and where the vulnerable entry points were. They will find the specific issue, address it, and solve the problem. When I asked the call person, what if they can't find the entry point, they laughed at me and said, they will find the entry point. Which they did. They are extremely competent and thorough. After several nights of hearing scritch scratching sounds above our ceiling in three rooms, we contacted Long Pest Control. Curtis arrived promptly and spent as much time as he needed from basement to attic to check all possible entrances which a rodent from outdoors could have used. Curtis communicated with us all the while about rodent behavior and preventive measures for the future. That night we heard scritch scratching. The next night: blissful quiet(!) which lasted for the next several days. When Curtis returned he discovered a juvenile rat which had met its demise in one of the traps he had set. I initially asked for an estimate and we agreed to it. What they didn't tell me was by signing the contract there's a whole back page of fine print and there's actually four treatments of $105 apiece that they never included in the initial bid. That doubled the price and I certainly would not agree to it if they told me that upfront. The service itself was done well and it did kill the ants. A month after the treatment I got a bill for $105 and I had no idea they were even coming out to the house. If you want to cancel those four treatments they will charge you or attempt to charge you 50% which I can't even figure out how that's legal. I wasn't expecting to change my mind so much about this company but I did thanks to Curtis. Everything just kind of shifted and changed after he came out to our house. Not only did I stop seeing rodents after Curtis came, he caught them as well. This nice young man educated us a lot on why rodents were coming to our house and gave us a lot of advice on how to deter and prevent them from coming back. I honestly wish Curtis would've came out the first and second visit we had with Long pest control but I understand he can't be everywhere at once. We even got the crawl space cleaned out after he recommended it. He did warn us about burrowing and bastards still tried to find shelter in the one shallow area outside of my house. I actually went hunting last weekend and caught my first rat after I noticed they had returned to their old burrowing spot. It took about 2 months for the rats to come back but he did warn us about this and it's difficult to stop burrowing. I'm just more concerned about them being INSIDE, UNDERNEATH, or ABOVE the house. I'll go hunting myself if they're burrowing. And I'll be sure to give Long pest control a call back if I find them under my house again... but HOPEFULLY I'm done having rats under my house. Highly highly recommend. We recently bought a house and because it was empty for a while we had a ton of spiders. There were spiders EVERYWHERE. I didn't even want to go out of my front door because there were a large amount of spiders. I always had to have raid on hand just in case I encountered any bugs. To top it off, we had a bees nest in our roof. Insert Long Pest Control. The consultation was great and they left us with no question unanswered. They gave us a really reasonable deal and it was super affordable. They came to our house, let us know everything they were going to do, and as soon as we got back to our house, the spiders were gone and so were the bees. Asked for a quote via Yelp and they came back with a reasonable one in 20 minutes via email. I wanted a one time treatment for bees in my siding. I asked a question via email and got a quick answer. Then asked them to call me and we agreed the call would come next morning. A timely call came from them and I asked more questions leading up to scheduling the service. They scheduled me five days out. That was fine with me. A couple of days later they called to let me know they could come sooner and that was fine also. I discovered what looked like a small pinch of coffee grounds on the inside of my front door jamb on a Friday afternoon. When I cleaned the area, I found two milky-white insects that were not ants. I had never had a pest problem in the 22 years we have been in our home, & had never used a pest control company prior to this. Long Pest Control was recommended by a friend, & I immediately called them at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. A real human being, Bryce, answered the phone! Technician Chris was able to come out & inspect our home the following Tuesday, and discovered that the insects were Subterranean Termites. Not very common in our area. A specialized treatment was set up for the following week, which took three hours. Curtis was patient & thorough in explaining the process, and provided lots of information regarding prevention of future termite damage. My husband & I are very appreciative of Long Pest Control's quick response, professionalism, & their obvious dedication to doing the job correctly! We will also be using Long's for spraying our ornamental shrubs, as I had inquired about the mottled appearance of my azalea & small rhododendron leaves.
