I am a big fan of diners, cafes and bacon. I sometimes seek out cafes that serve breakfast all day and that was part of today's mission. They have a large menu with plenty of choices. I selected the very first option on the breakfast menu on the top left hand side of their menu. Between sausage, ham or bacon I selected the bacon. The menu lists it as Applewood Smoked. I have definitely had better Applewood Smoked bacon in other restaurants. I requested my eggs over-hard but they were cooked over- medium. I buried them under Cholula hot sauce. Lone Star Cafe, thank you for having Cholula. Between hash browns and grits I selected hash browns. They were basic. I allowed myself bread today because I really enjoy a hot buttery biscuit and they delivered. I would definitely dine here again, their menu has plenty to choose from. read more

Forgot to take pictures, but we decided to eat here before going to hurricane harbor. The service was okay and the food was basic. Theres nothing to brag about. On the way here I kept looking for a hole in the wall, but it's kind of hard to do when you're driving. I had French toast with fresh berries, and a side of eggs and bacon. The fruit wasn't sweet and the bacon was super thin. My daughter and husband shared a meat breakfast burrito and a side of pancakes. My daughter didn't finish the burrito. She said it didn't taste good but the pancakes were ok, but my husband didn't care for them. Would I come here again? Um no I would look somewhere else. read more

We work absolutely crazy schedules and very rarely see each other though we all live in the same house This morning we somehow were all together and decided to go out to breakfast (a meal we all love but never eat lol) LoneStar Cafe is right down the street so we went for it. Y'all it was So. Good. I had the Hippie Hash, my daughter had the 5 Star Skillet and my Husband had the Sunrise special. All fresh, all delicious, with fast incredibly helpful service. Had brunch here this past Sunday. The server quickly seated us and provided menus. When we were ready to order another server was there to take the order. I got a Belgian Waffle with fresh strawberries. The waffle was just sweet enough and had a nice crisp edge. The strawberries were ripe and had a really good flavor. The side order of turkey sausage was cooked to a nice brown color. My husband had steak and eggs and he said that each part of the breakfast was well done. I asked her what she would order and she suggested the 4x2. This was pancakes, sausage bacon and eggs. All was cook to perfection, I also had the eggs Benedict which was also really good. What i want to tell is the Latrice was nothing but a ray of sunshine. Took a few moments to get to know her we took some moments get to know her. Her energy and smile were contagious. When we spoke it was like talking to an old friend that i hadn't seen in a while. The restaurant had a great ambiance and the entire staff backed each other up, coffee and water was always full and everyone was nice. Oh my gosh, I found my home cooking spot in Arlington! They've only been open 3 weeks and I was surprised to see how busy they were, even at 12pm there was a steady stream of patrons coming in. We love a good breakfast any time and I left with a box for a second meal, as the portions were generous. I had a cheese omelet, with grits and a biscuit with a side of gravy. It was delicious and my only regret was my stomach isn't bigger. My hubs had the Mushroom Swiss burger and he devoured it, along with the battered fries, he said 10/10 he'd order again. My friends were equally satisfied, one had the The eggs Benedict and he raved the entire meal, and he really enjoyed the hash browns, friend number 2 had a Western omelet with biscuits and gravy and he remarked that it reminded him of the meals his favorite grandma made! We enjoyed the food and great customer service. I ordered the waffle with peanut butter chips, you must try it! The omelette with spinach was great also. My husband ordered the traditional eggs with bacon. The atmosphere was nice, crowded but expected on a Saturday morning (who doesn't want a great breakfast)...lol. I expected to wait but they got us seated right away, a table had just been cleaned and opened up for us, which was fantastic because I was ready to order :) I enjoyed my visit so much, came back the following Sunday, with my son. Lone Star was a quaint cafe with friendly staff and mediocre food. My husband and I ordered omelettes that were slightly overcooked and bland. We paired with salsa and that helped. The grits were also very bland. All in all decent spot by the house to have breakfast but a little on the expensive side as they're overpriced in general and on their up-charges. - Side of one turkey sausage patty $4.50 - 8oz OJ (not fresh squeezed) $3.50 - ONE side pancake with chocolate chips (on top, not even mixed in!!) 7.50!! So for, - 2 omelettes meals (w/ side of fruit, hash browns or grits and toast) - added one turkey sausage patty to one 1 omelette - 2 OJs - Side pancake (not a stack) - Credit card surcharge The bill was $47 - a little too steep for "ok" breakfast food. The Food at this establishment is plentiful and delicious. The Service is one of the best I have enjoyed every time I visit. The staff are very friendly, nice and welcoming. This a lovely restaurant with friendly and courteous staff. The service was great however my food wasn't good. The chicken breast was extremely thin and overcooked so when it arrived to our table it was very little meat left to eat. I requested my be prepared scrambled soft with cheese. I received eggs scrambled hard with no cheese. So, truly the only enjoyable part of my meal were the hashbrowns. As for my lady she enjoyed her meal very much. Unassuming breakfast and brunch spot that I've probably passed a million times and never thought about. I stopped in the other day and was immediately seated by a friendly server. The restaurant is very clean and I saw the staff detailing the chairs and tables. The menu includes your typical breakfast and lunch diner options. Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, etc. I ordered a veggie omelette with grits. The omelette was good but a bit overcooked. The grits were watery and bland. Sorry, everyone can't make good grits and that's how they get a bad name. Just don't bother making them if you can't include the proper amount of fattening goodness to them...water grits are a no! Great place. I stop in for breakfast every time I'm in town (once a year or two). It's mostly the same wait staff each time I come. That's pretty impressive! The food was delicious- I had read other reviews and it's like they thought they were at Emerile's or something. It's a cafe- get over yourself. It was lunch time so Yelp pointed us to this direction, nice place in a shopping center. Was greeted by all the friendly wait staff upon entering. Lovely lady took our drink orders and gave us our menu, decided on the chicken fried steak. You can never go wrong with this classic at a cafe. So at least I hoped, it did not disappoint at all the gravy was very good and good consistency. I ordered fries instead of mashed potatoes cause I just felt like eating my starch fried for that day. Over all service and food was on point, all staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy making customers happy with there service and food. Great diner spot for breakfast and lunch! Went in @ noon and was seated right away. Friendly wait staff with fill ups on coffee and water continuously. Ordered the Fresh Fruit waffle with a side of bacon, hashbrowns, and a scrabled egg. All of it came out together. Bacon was nice and crispy, and the hash had an outer crucn with a soft inside. The waffle was a great portion with lots of berries! Took it home since I could only eat about a fourth of it, lol. Definitely a place for some southern eats. I was in the mood for crepes, we were in the area and this place had good reviews so we gave it a shot. It fell way short of expectations by a long mile. Their basic crepes at $11 are NOT fresh made, I think probably bought in and maybe microwaved then filled? (Edit: owner replied and they say they make them?? Oof almost worse?) They were tiny and mine weren't microwaved enough, they were as cold as they could be. Waitress was who knows where to ask them to heat em up so just got through it. My husband's skillet lacked flavor, I've never seen him put so much pepper and cholula on anything ever. It had a lot of ingredients in there too, I'd say this is IHOP equivalent at best. To get a more "rounded" meal, I ordered bacon and hashbrowns Ala cart so ended up paying like 19 bucks for a single small meal. Laughable but oh well. Waitstaff was all helping each other, drinks stayed full. Interior was modern but for the price, the food was not good. read more

Mixed bag for sure. Bad service set the tone and not sure if the server or the kitchen caused the other issues. We were acknowledged rather promptly and given drinks but then completely ignored so long another server asked us if we still needed to order and tracked down our server. Food came rather quickly but was wrong. Southern omelet was ordered without onions but was delivered with onions. Our server did not check on us so had to flag another server down to get the omelet remade. They did remake it for my son and he really liked it. He also ordered a side pancake which they forgot to bring so we had to ask for it. My husband ordered $7 oatmeal and was given a small bowl half full as in less than the amount that comes in the individual packets. He had also ordered brown sugar which was forgotten. He opted for the add ons of bananas, strawberries, blueberries and pecans as $1.50 each and was given the same fruit that came with my son's omelet: 3 slices of banana, 8 slices of strawberries and 8 blueberries. 3 slices of banana for $1.50 is ridiculous. I had the ham and cheese omelet which was almost burnt but was big enough I could just eat the top part and it was good. The plain pancake was one of the best I've ever had and salvaged the otherwise negative dining experience. Hint of sweetness and vanilla. Very fluffy with slightly tough exterior but delicious once you put syrup on it. They have Coke products. The menu indicated omelets came with hashbrowns but those were forgotten as well and we gave up trying to correct their mistakes. Prices were reasonable other than the $1.50 for 3 slices of banana. There was a young man that was working there that was super nice and helped us get our food corrected who deserves a raise. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. He went above and beyond to help us so much I tipped him too. We didn't have to wait for a table which was a plus and parking was good. They might want to review service technique and menu with staff to avoid these type of problems. I would go back for the pancakes despite all the problems. If the visit had been problem free, I would give it 5 stars. read more

First of all I really wanted to like the place. Ate here when it was Al's and was not impressed so never came back so really wanted to like it since it is a neighborhood place but alas I cannot say we will be back. Giving it 3 stars because the server was nice, while not completely honest with us. We split a chicken fried steak after asking if it was handmade and being told "kinda"! The server said they cut their own meat and bread it and then fry it. Okay that is homemade CFS so I'm good with that. Note: It is not homemade and it got to the table in less than 3 minutes to which the server explained they have the best fryer and that they did like 50 CFSs in 10 minutes ....oh okay. So we ate it, wasn't horrible but it was so plainly frozen, pre-made CFS patty, and packaged gravy. When server came to ask about our meal I mentioned laughingly that it is a sin in Texas to serve CFS without bread to which he went into a long drawn out explanation about how the Tarrant County Health inspector told them they could only buy from distributors because of Covid!!! What the heck?? I explained that they can't tell them where or who they can buy from and that farm to table restaurants would be done if that was true and asked if their current distributor didn't carry Bread to which he responded yeah, they have bread! We just can't get dinner rolls!!! I was so confused. So then the bill came, see pic and they add a surcharge for cc transactions which is not legal or allowed in Texas, see second pic. Anyhow won't be back because in this day and age who pays with cash and why should I pay more to pay a bill with my card. That's called the price of doing business. Or at least hide it cause it's not legal. Just saying and they only notify you after you eat... nothing on the menu about cc surcharges. read more

Food okay--a little pricey, but restaurant prices are going up everywhere. They added a 4% surcharge (non-cash adjustment) to my check because I used a Visa credit card. It was a total surprise. I've educated myself on these types of charges and they may not be legal in TX. I should have used my debit card. read more
