We roll a little different when we're traveling. You see, flyball happens in places like Redding or Fresno or Bakersfield so our usual levels of "foodiness" are thrown out in favor of big, boozy drinks and fried food. Logan's gets good marks for being able to take 7 of us at 7:30 on a Friday night.without a sneer and a 90 minute wait, not minding the fact that we get pretty loud, and a big varied menu for all of us to choose from. There were peanuts and hot rolls and plenty of breading. The chicken fried steak went well with my original long-island iced tea. There was a peppery-white gravy and good mashers. Our waitress also offered to split the bill (we didn't take her up on the offer since we've gotten damn food at doing it ourselves) I think next year, we'll head back to Logan's when we're racing in Redding. read more

If you're looking for excellent BBQ, there's nothing bad on this menu! Me and my family of 6 have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. The staff are all fantastic and typically attentive to your needs when needing refills, extras, etc. The ribs with the honey sauce are the bomb & the tri-tip is amazing. On our way home my wife and I decided to stop in Redding for a night before heading back to the Bay. Well we rented a room at Oxford suites. Nice room, great staff. They recommended Logan's right nextdoor. Ok cool, right next to the room dinner drinks who could ask for more? Lol...Upon walking through the parking lot we saw two homeless junkies shooting up in plain sight..Being from San Francisco that's something you see quite often...but nevertheless it's a public place and that shit is not ok. Moving forward, we were greeted by a nice young woman and told that the wait would be around 15 min..Also being from Frisco that is an amazing timeframe. 15 min pass, then 20 and we finally are seated around 25 min. No worries....I order the 16 oz sirloin. medium rare...My food comes out, cold as all hell, and well done due to sitting out to long. I ask for another steak MEDIUM RARE PLEASE...our waitress takes it back and brings me out THE SAME GOD DAMN STEAK. Really? I mean come on...it's not that hard to cook a steak on each side for 3-5 min....So after fighting with her I finally get a manger. Which was not much better than our waitress... Some years ago I absolutely loved the juicy and flavorful pork chops .. but that was years ago. Since then I have tried them several times hoping that they would get better but now the trend is dry, no marbeling pork chops. The flavor is good but they are just too darn dry. Good chops have some fat marbeled throughout. Also, the so-called bleu cheese dressing was the absolute worst friggin dressing I have ever had anywhere -- and there was NO bleu cheese! The 2 items I loved the most (crisp, fresh salad and juicy chops) no longer exist and I no longer have a reason to ever return to Logan's. What a shame. I go to Logan's when I'm in Redding on business. I have been to several in other states including TX. I sit mostly in the bar. This is by far the best of any Logan's bar that I have been to. The bar tenders are extremely friendly and work hard to please the customers. The food is the standard chain menu. All the food came out hot, cooked right and timely. If your expecting a high quality steak like one cooked at a landmark steak house you might be disappointed. I come from the little known BBQ capital of the western US (Santa Maria). I'm a tough critic of steaks, yelp Jocko's in Nipomo, CA if you want to find the best steak at any restaurant. I was craving a good ribeye so we stoped at Logan's Roadhouse. The service was so slow. We were seated and it took 20 min before anyone came by and asked us for our drink order. Then she forgot what we ordered and the manager came and asked us again what we wanted. Then after ordering it took one hour to just get our salad. Oh did I mention they had no ribeye steaks, so I settled for sirloin with onions on top not a good choice for the money. It was not really seasoned and was so so like a steak you get at IHOP . My husband order a medium well new your strip and he was not happy, they served it Med rare he had to send it back. We have given them a chance three times over the course of 1 year. Each time, the service was extremely slow and the food was terrible. On our last visit was about a week and a half ago, just after they opened for the day. The only edible item from 5 plates of food, was the broccoli 2 of us ordered as sides and the bread. The fried calamari appetizer was cooked beyond recognition and tasted old and freezer burned. Fried chicken, also cooked until totally dry and hard as a rock. Mashed potatoes were the consistency of drippy clam chowder, steaks were so tough they could not be chewed, and the kids wouldn't even eat their fries. We are not picky eaters and not exaggerating these descriptions. When my daughter sent back the whole fried chicken plate, we got nasty looks from the cook. The very timid and apologetic waitress asked if she wanted something else? Would you? I have eaten better food at a cheap greasy spoon diner. Shameful. read more

We just stopped in on our way thru while on a business trip. We love that we can eat peanuts and throw shells on the floor while we wait. We both ordered a full rack of baby back ribs, baked potatoes and salads. The salad wasn't that great (they used to be WAAY better!) but the unlimited bread rolls are amazing! The ribs were awesome and we both had tons left over to take home. Baked potato was large and pretty tasty as well. Our waiter (he had full sleeve tattoos) seemed a little frazzled for a minute but gave pretty good service overall, communicated frequently to us what was going on and was friendly. Wow, this place is SO BAD. AWFUL SERVICE. Incredibly slow, order was wrong, I was mischarged, etc, etc. Several of the servers gave me a deer in the headlights look when I asked them questions, like they had absolutely no idea what was going on or what they were doing. Come on, it's Redding, California, so you don't even have the excuse of English not being your first language. How do you work here and have no idea what's going on? I was in Redding for a business meeting and a large group (probably 20) of us went out to dinner after the first day. We were seated very quickly. I'm not much of a drinker around coworkers so I ordered iced tea. We were probably there over 2 hours. I must have drank 12 iced teas. The waitresses were on it as soon as my cup was getting low. I thought this was awesome even though I wasn't drinking beer where they are making their money. Mine are free refills. So the service was friendly and prompt. Food was very good. Stopped in for a late dinner on 6/28/19 after catching a show. The good news is my Chicken Brewski was pretty decent. The bad news is I ordered a different dish! Strike 1. I had considered this dish though and it was late so I just ate it. I did get the correct beer I ordered so that smoothed it over SOME. However, my wife's order of chicken tenders were over cooked and more breading than chicken. She didn't even touch them. Our waiter was AWOL the entire meal never ONCE asking us if there was an issue, even when we flagged him down to ask for our check and he could clearly see her untouched plate. He commented how busy the place was with maybe a dozen occupied tables; clearly not the line of work he should be in! We won't be back and can't in good convenience recommend the place! read more

Food there is a hit or miss, service is pretty garbage. I waited over an hour for my food, which was a very simple order. Ive witnessed mice and cockroaches running around. A couple of different servers I've witnessed are rude to other customers including myself. I've heard them constantly in the kitchen yelling at other employees. Management is not well run either. I've noticed when I was waiting to be sat, the communication was horrible and they had no idea what they were doing. Would not recommend Logan's Roadhouse until they get their shit together. My steak was great! The potato was really fine, just a potato, and I liked the coleslaw, although nothing too remarkable about it. The service was good, but it seemed I waited a long time for my food; about 25 minutes, which seems long for a medium steak and potato. When the gentleman took my order he didn't ask about potato fixins, so when my food arrived, there were none. I had to ask to get sour cream and butter, but it came rather quickly. Decor is what you would expect, peanuts on the floor, wood EVERYWHERE, and tin signs and neon about the joint. The country music blaring overhead made me want to slit my throat by the time the meal was gone; not regular country stuff, but damn-I'm-one-really-depressed-cowpoke kind of stuff. I went to the Logan's in Redding last night, and yes I read the reviews and wanted to try it myself since it was just across the street from our hotel. I ordered the prime rib since it was on special and my wife ordered the chicken fried steak, out of a 1 to 10 on the prime rib I'd give it a 4 because of the tough texture and it was over salted (which I usually like), my wife had the chicken fried steak and it also was a 4, it was over cooked but had decent flavor, the bread and appetizers were a 9 and service was also 9. Wow how things changed. Logans is not owned by logans corporation anymore. So bye bye quality. First things first. THE BREAD HAS CHANGED..The steak is NOT the same. We just left feeling disappointed. We will never go back and that sux cause it was one of the better places to eat. No more peanuts. I feel that was there thing. My husband and sister in law decided to go here for dinner the other night. Super excited haven't been in awhile so when we got there and was told it was only a 15 minute wait we were thrilled. That then quickly turned into a 47 minute wait and they were even pulling back people that had gotten there after us. The whole thing was so uncomfortable, I felt so uncomfortable yelling my order to her and even when we were just trying to have a nice night out still having to yell at eachother was just awkward. Well I'm 37 weeks pregnant but I ordered a medium well burger (unfortunately lol) and my husband and sister ordered the country fried steak. When the food comes out i no joke tell you the food runner goes "well the macaroni and cheese is still frozen but we will get it to you as fast as we can" and walks away. I was a serve for 4 years and we've had plenty of frozen items, but never have I ever told my customers what she had said. When they brought out my burger they had started eating their steak and the best thing I can say is.... it was fresh frozen. I bite into my burger while I watched the water from the onion petals from being defrosted and fried literally sprayed across the table, and when I pulled my burger away from my face I could tell something wasn't right. I cut my burger in half... AND THE MEAT WAS COMPLETELY RAW! Don't even know how it happened because the outside of the burger was burnt to a crisp but I couldn't even believe it. I got the runners attention and told her I couldn't eat this and asked if she could take it back. She literally stood there, looked at me like I was crazy and says "soo what you don't want it cause it isn't good?" And I looked at her as if maybe she didn't hear me say it's raw so I say to her " no the meat is completely raw I'm 37 weeks pregnant I can't eat this no one can!" I came with a big group, which I understand can be stressful, I too have worked in the food service industry. However, the food to the service was HORRIBLE. It began when the first order came out incorrectly and it just escalated from there, order after order was made incorrectly. One of the members of my party didn't get her food brought out and the waitress said there would be a 3-4 minutes, and said, "the kitchen lost your order." It took 22 minutes for the cheeseburger to arrive and when it did it was made incorrectly. I don't even want to mention how poorly the food tasted and the aftermath. Let's just say we all had to spend some quality time with the toilet. read more

This was right next door to the hotel we were staying at in Redding on our ride this year so we figured we would try it out. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink while we figured out what we wanted to eat. The bartender was helpful even though they were understaffed. I ordered the cajun popcorn shrimp with fries. I got a good amount of shrimp but there wasn't much of a cajun flavor to them. They were good but I was expecting more of a zing from them since they were advertised as cajun flavor. The fries were good. Over all it was ok but not great. Would I go back? Maybe if we stay at the same hotel but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. read more

Imagine, if you will, 4 women from out of town, perfect makeup, perfect hair, perfect jewelry, dressed in stylish, smart, all-black outfits. Well put-together women. Then imagine them going in to a place that has a tilted barrel of peanuts in shells in the foyer of a restaurant, surrounded by the decimated remains of former peanuts, waiting at the hostess booth to be seated by a blond, ponytailed young thing wearing cut off jean shorts who has not finished going through puberty. All the while they are walking to their corner booth, these lovely women tread over more peanut shells on the floor. Crunch, crunch, crunch. Any fantasy or pleasure I ever got out of walking through dried leaves in the fall have been blasted in to smithereens. The waitress was superbly sweet and looked like Sandra Bullock. She worked HARD for her money, so hard for her money. For that, I give this review 3 stars. Because I really hated the peanut shells on the floor. it's not cheap. So I can see why people would choose this as the special place to go to celebrate with a huge hunk of meat. We saw a pair of Redding's finest dine here, it must be reputable. Actually, there were so many service people here to fight the forest fires that have been blazing across California's already desolate and endangered landscape. Hats off to them. We ordered the skewered buffalo wings which came with the most amazing sauce in the world! It was like a spicy version of the orange chicken sauce in Panda Express. Spicy but sweet at the same time. We killed those in no time. So much for dainty ladies. When we ordered drinks, the waitress suggested we get doubles because it's only $3 more and you get twice the amount. This sort of thinking is what made the super size so enticing. And when you put the word "only" in front of a dollar amount, it makes the price seem so harmless. Just a little itty bitty $3 more. It can't harm you. I got the Salmon with a Caesar salad and Mashed potatoes. The salmon was good but it still had bones in it. I thought I was eating at an American establishment, not a Chinese one where I have to carefully pick through each bite first with my utensil, then with my tongue least I swallow something prickly. The consistency and utter okay-ness of this place made me think that they weigh out all the ingredients to the gram, even the garnish. read more

Coming from Tennessee where Logans was one of our favorite places to eat... I was very surprised that the prices here were exactly TWICE what they are in Tennessee (the $9 steak in TN was $18 here).... And though we were paying twice as much, the service was slow (though friendly, thus the extra star) and the meat tasted like a much lower quality... my Medium steak crumbled when you cut it. The place was nearly empty when I was there... and after eating there I'm not surprised. MAJORLY overpriced, incredibly slow service... and unimpressive food. It was date night and for some reason my wife wanted to go to Logan's roadhouse. Though it was busy we were seated immediately upon checking in with the hostess. They have a good selection of beers and the cocktail my wife ordered was quite good. Like any chain there was nothing super special about the food but I must say it was seasoned and cooked well. The music was too loud however when my wife ask the manager to turn it down a little bit they did that immediately. Went with a couple of friends for Happy Hour. Arrived right at 5:00 pm and it was almost empty. Got our drink order pretty quickly, and then waited probably 15 minutes for server to return to take food orders. We ordered appetizers and then proceeded to wait for more than an hour for our food to come out...for three appetizers. During that time it took probably 45 minutes to get second drink orders. While we were waiting the place started to fill up and we noticed other tables getting their food who had come in long after us. Asked our server what was up and she apologized but had no explanation. FINALLY got our food and half of it was cold and all of it was mediocre. Giving them 2 stars instead of `1 because our server was sweet and they do have a nice selection of beer and other drinks for Happy Hour. Still won't be going back. read more

Unfortunately, this experience was less satisfying. My ribeye steak was more medium, than medium-rare, and was the toughest ribeye I have ever had. The rice pilaf was equally disappointing - dry and flavor-less - and a very small portion to boot. At least the broccoli was good. If we hadn't been in such a hurry to hit the road, I would have sent it back, but as I said, we were in a hurry. A waste of $29.99. On the other hand, my wife's onion-brewski chicken was very good - moist & tender. And the mac & cheese was actually quite good.
