We found this spot thanks to the recommendations of some locals in the area and boy were we happy we came here to eat. The food was incredible. "The Hiker" was such a delicious plate of food, soft delectable pancakes, deliciously tasty homefries and eggs cooked to your liking. I also had to try "The French toast Casserole" and I am glad I did. Such an interesting take on a french toast. Baked just right with a great Pecan praline and a delicious raspberry sauce that brings it all together. I cant wait to try this place again. The staff was so friendly and the decoration and vibe just fit so well with the log cabin feel. A cute little touristy cafe that is WAY undersized and busy during any peak season but the good food and nice service makes up for it. The Log Cabin Cafe has all of your breakfast standards and they do them right. Parking will likely be busy and tight outside and you may have to wait a while for a table with a confusing seating process that seems to put party mix over wait time. It's very cute inside and they also have a selection of grocery type items for sale so while you are eating someone might walk by your table to buy a gallon of milk!! Cool little place tucked into the mountains. Nice breakfast menu with all the morning comfort food you would want. We went for the omelets and mine, the "Catskills" was flavourful, stuffed with tons of deliciousness and served with marble rye toast, my favourite. Both waitresses were friendly and attentive. Small dining room but we were seated right away. They had a decent beer menu with some local and national brands. It was 10am but the Crossroads Outrage had a a personal favourite so I dove in. Wife had a mimosa and both were delicious. Kid friendly, very affordable and a nice menu make this a "must go" morning place. Decent parking and not far from the heart of Cairo. Breakfast served on paper plates but it didn't take anything away from the food or experience. Close to home so we will be back. read more

Not service dog friendly! I was there with my service dog and my family. They sat us and then told us we had to leave. My dog was crying because my husband's blood sugar was low. I didn't have time or honestly the energy to explain it to them because they just seemed very discourteous and frigid, and at that point we were embarrassed. We found this place totally on a whim as we were leaving the Bavarian Manor Hotel (which was an experience in an of itself) and my lord, it was marvelous! It truly is a log cabin, as in, one large room, with a plethora of delicious breakfast items to choose from. Between the "Delish Knish" and the "French Toast Casserole," we were astounded at how fresh and tasty everything was. Top it off by accommodating three kids under 11 with a mixture of chocolate chip pancakes, french toast and eggs, we were all delighted with everything. Our food subsequently came out within 10 minutes. I had the Catskills omelet, which they described as "a mountain of an omelet." Indeed, their description was correct; the omelet was massive. Overall, the omelet was pretty good. The egg was fluffy, and the insides were stuffed with sausage, bacon, ham, tomatoes, and peppers. I am so glad we stopped in here for breakfast. The price was fair, service was sweet and attentive. I visited before the pandemic. I really liked the cabin and bear ambiance!! Such a nice getaway from the NYC hustle and bustle. The omelette was nice and fluffy. Home fries were classic potatoes. Lacked a bit of flavor but not overwhelming with onions or anything. Just fried up potatoes. Adding the hot sauce was nice. A recommendation I have is to add more of a flavor hot sauce instead of the "Red Hot" Blueberry pancakes were made very well. For about $2 you could add real maple syrup. They have jams and some little things such as maple syrup and wooden coasters and candle holders. Such a cute gift to bring home and support a local business. They offer nice big mugs and I think this is such a nice touch. It's nice to have a nice big cup of joe. Thank you!! We went 2 days in a row! We were staying at Glen Falls House and this spot was a 5 minute drive away. The first day we ordered lunch (turkey club sandwich with macaroni salad and turkey blt with cucumber salad) fair portions and price. The bacon was nice and crispy. The next day we went for breakfast. I ordered "the honey bear" and a side of bacon, my husband ordered "the hiker" with sausage and pancakes and we shared the french toast casserole special. It was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. The french toast had a crispy top layer of pecans and brown sugar. If they are offering when you visit, you must order! They even had a little shop inside and we picked up maple syrup for both sets of our parents and ourselves. Not only was this the only place around for miles that was open in the area, the sandwiches really were amazing! I recommend the turkey reuben and the lumber jack. Both tasted so good with their melted cheese and were very fresh. Service was slow but expected being that there is limited staff. Even so, the waitress came around a couple of times to fill our coffee cups and to make sure everything came out fine. This cute little rustic gem was our choice for lunch in the Catskills this day. Here's what we munched on: Our parents had the BLT and Grilled Cheese sandwiches. They were both very satisfied, judging by the clean plates they left behind. I had the tuna melt on wheat with tomato. A nice job, with the tuna being of the perfect consistency...not too much mayo so as not to sog up the bread. The food took a bit of time to come out of the kitchen, and the only server was a bit busy with half the tables filled, but it gave us time to admire the decor. Had the Goin' Bananas (French toast ) and it was very yummy. It used simple syrup - which is sugar melted into water, which I only know because I asked. My beaux had an omlette and it had cheese crisped on the outside - he said it was phenomenal. Our friend had the feta cheese omelette AND the strawberry and banana waffle. This place has so so much potential. We were staying in the area and decided to stop in for breakfast before we left. The staff was very nice but not the most attentive. I'm not sure if they were having an off day (which is completely valid) but we waited a LONG time for our food for only two people who both ordered one of the items off the special menu, which it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out our entrees were obviously premade, and most likely just had to be heated up.
