We made our first trip to Loflin Yard on September 1st for the Choose 901 Event and truly enjoyed the space. The juxtaposition of industrial and natural elements makes for a perfect hipster's paradise. We enjoyed the large yard style space, the brook that babbles near one of the food service areas, the lawn games, twinkle lights and live music that combine to create a magical atmosphere. Beer prices were reasonable and variety was good. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that there wasn't a large variety of food available (and we didn't end up eating there as we had hoped to because nothing sounded that appetizing). I live a block from Loflin and go there frequently...when it's not crowded. I hope the owners will find this review as helpful in identifying areas of improvement rather than being critical. If you go on a day with a moderate crowd you can expect to wait quite a while for a drink. Drink service is very slow and could greatly be improved by adding a few food and drink servers in the yard. The food menu is amazing but yet again the wait to order and receive your food can be very long. It's a very casual and welcoming environment that is kid and pet friendly. Corn-hole, Jenga, ping pong, are just a few game options available while you're there. There is a lot of seating available but there could be more. BEST DOG FRIENDLY BAR RESTAURANT EVER. I just moved to Memphis from Houston, TX: home of the BLESSED brisket. Honestly, I was skeptical - could this place possibly manage to actually cook it to be edible? PLOT TWIST they NAILED IT. And they make damn good sausage. The corn was kinda gross - y'all need to look up some legit elote recipes instead of squirting mayo on a cob. But for real - their brisket and sausage are BOMB. And my 65 lb golden retriever is lovingly greeted whenever we go and LOVES playing cornhole. And we are going back. LOVE this place. read more

My wife and I swung by here just before seeing a show at the Orpheum. We loved it! What a great setting! We made it a point to stop after our show finished and enjoyed how we didn't feel like we were in downtown Memphis, but in a friend's backyard. I live on this block in a nearby condo and we are so happy to have a new place in the neighborhood, OTHER than more apartments. Our first visit was great though we only had drinks, the music and bonfires were great! We will be back with our dog soon before the rules change. Great place for large groups. Great place for music! I do want to mention, the amount of construction debris and clear plastic cups (they were serving beers in-specifically the same make of cup) and overall trash that was blowing up and down Georgia and Carolina / Georgia/ Tennessee and Florida was very upsetting to someone who's dog loves to walk around there- insulation was literally tumbling all over the apartment complex near there. I hope management remedies this soon and it's picked up ASAP. read more

I love this place. It's just like a big backyard. We had our engagement party here one Saturday night. It was a big hit with everyone. The food was also great. The staff made sure we were always taken care of. We also had a few little ones with us and they didn't mind at all. It's self serve so you can meet up with a group and some might want drinks only as others have snacks or meals. It is the most laid back experience in Memphis and so fun. I highly recommend it! Came here on a Saturday afternoon during a Memphis vacation. I loved this place! Outdoor casual seating with plenty of yard games. Multiple bar areas and places to order food. Used this as a place for appetizers. My group split the queso duo and pork poutine; both were very tasty. I got a side of marinated seasonal vegetables which were amazing!! Would highly recommend getting those. Ended up discovering they have frose and whiskey slushies (lemonade and coke). Ended up having 3 total (2 frose and 1 lemonade) and was definitely feeling it after those! They were perfect since it was a hot afternoon! Would love to come back if I were back in town!! read more

Just don't get cocktails there! Bartender/Manger was very rude to us. Atmosphere is fantastic! Beer is great! I absolutely love craft specialty cocktails too! I don't mind paying $15-20 for a cocktail that's how much I love them! But if it tastes like Kool Aid mixed with some alcohol then I'll nicely have to send it back. I don't do it often but it's never been a problem. The manager didn't want exchange my drink for a cheaper beer. I was willing to just eat the $5 just so I could enjoy a decent drink. He reluctantly switched it out no refund. My husband ordered a more expensive more watered down Matcha Cocktail. He couldn't drink it because it was not good at all and asked for a beer as well. We don't like to do that ever but the cocktails were that bad. The manager accused us of trying to cheat them. My husband just explained we simply don't like the cocktails and would like something else, they're very expensive and we'd like to drink something that we'll enjoy. I've never experienced a restaurant or bar not exchanging an expensive meal that you took one bite of and didn't like. He was very rude too. For that I give one star. It's a really cool ambiance though so I'm sad we had this experience. read more

We reserved a private area for my husbands birthday. When we started to settle we realized everyone was getting attacked by mosquitoes. Not just a few here and there but bitten to the point we were hunting down OFF cans. There was actually a couple times one of the male employees would come take the ones we found and give to other customers. My husband went and personally moved a fan to our area bc the only fan was blowing towards the food. We figured this may help and it didn't. At this point we had several people just leave because they couldn't take anymore. I mentioned something to Jess and she agreed there was indeed a bad mosquito problem. I told her we would pack up the food and move to the other indoor area. We went to the other area and hung out and never got bit. When we came back around 11:30 to get our boxed up food everything was gone. I have called and left a message and never received a call back. I spent $813 total for the party for food then I spent $400 on a bar tab. It was by far the biggest waste of money. Love the atmosphere and this place has a big potential but service would need to change. When I mentioned the issue to Jess- management should have been involved immediately when spending that much and then someone should have called back. So don't go there unless you take your own bug spray. Because when we left there was not 1 can in the place that wasn't empty. read more

Great setup. TERRIBLE MOSQUITOS. even worse CHIGGERS! And no, not some fancy drink the serve, but the bugs that even when you put on the bug spray at home and then the bug spray they offer at where there they still attack you and penetrate your clothing. The kind that keeps you up at night scratching. The kind that you wonder with all of the beautiful clientele floating around wearing what beautiful clientele wear - how are they not eaten alive head to toe (and then some?). Maybe the beautiful people rotate on a monthly basis in order to heal before going back? The sewer turned water feature is nice, but it can't help. Other than the mosquitos the setup is ideal. Good music, food (pork tenderloin was good although slightly overcooked), pitcher of beers and plenty of places to set up for the night and soak it all in. I will be back but for sure. Until full frog suits, bee suits, mosquito nets are in style and installed, I will wait until the weather breaks and the bugs go on vacation. Loflin Yard if you are reading this, please install a system that eliminates this issue. A daily fogging or BuzzOff / Mosquito Joe contract will radically change my enjoyment of your establishment. read more

This place is my JAM. You cannot go wrong with anything here! It has a beautiful atmosphere (just -- bring bug spray in the summer!), the tastiest foods, and amazing seasonal cocktails. It's cozy and casual -- a real unique downtown spot in the neighborhood. I wish I could live here, ha! read more

Was saddened by the treatment received today. Asked about ordering and the guy was a bit rude and said poorboy sandwiches only. I wanted the chicken wings and the spicy sausage tray. Well he didn't give me a chance to clarify so I walked away. My son placed our order. 6 of us. As he came back a delivery of chicken was taken to the lady next to us. I went up and explained to the guy how unhappy I was about being treated that way. That I really wanted chicken and the tray. He had a bit of an attitude and was implying he was correcting it. But them before I walked off he said "of that will be on your card". Hmmmm. Not the way I would do business. So I ended up with enough food to feed two people! Not happy at all. read more

Fun place to hang out on a nice day! Love the large outdoor area with plenty of seating. My first time here was for a Yelp event, so I haven't eaten much on their menu. Service was great and the outdoor lighting helped the ambiance. They had cold cucumber mint water outside for you and it was delicious! Will definitely return. read more

This is such an amazing place and gives me such high hopes for Memphis and the South Main area. Hard to believe when I moved to Memphis 17 years ago that this was a vacant dangerous area. What a cool spot! When I went, we grabbed hot cider and sat by a fire pit. The place goes on and on forever! It was pretty muddy but since it's a "yard" and it had rained recently, that's to be expected. I would love to come back in warm weather. I would also love to try the food. I went to Loflin Yard as part of a Yelp party, but I wasn't impressed enough to return. The area was really nice and big but other than that there wasn't much. As we sat and waited for our food we kept smelling something very foul, like a dead animal, or it could have possibly been the garbage as we saw that the dumpster was right behind the fence we were sitting in front of as we were leaving. If that is the case they should really find somewhere else to put it. Another downfall was that a woman (I now believe she was an event coordinator with Loflin Yard) came up to us asking how we were doing. She even asked if we wanted something to drink, so I thought she was taking our order, and I said I'd like a Dr. Pepper. She then points to two cash bars..I guess it was naive of me to think she may have been a waitress but it was the way she asked that lead me to believe she was taking our order.... The food was alright. I liked the corn but it was drowning in lime juice and zest. It seemed like they had potential but I don't think it was for me. read more

Order the beer. Order whiskey. Order tequila. I'm sure gin and tonics are fine, but just don't order a cocktail here. I ordered the Matcha Man Ramos Savage, a gin lemony egg white cocktail, looks great visually then you drink it...it's not good. In fact it's terrible. For $12+ I expect nothing less than excellence. I also had to unfortunately explain this to the bartender who was perplexed as to why I didn't like it and referenced that the ingredients were "listed on the menu". The ingredients to a hamburger are also widely known, yet some are amazing and some...are awful, like this Matcha Man (great name by the way). We grabbed a beer and enjoyed the visuals (which I think are unparralalled to any bar of its type in Memphis) for the remainder. They can do better with their drinks and service. read more

Great hangout spot! I had the post yoga cocktail and it was delicious! It was a chill atmosphere and I love the concept of the space.

I came here to meet up with some friends on a Saturday around 6 pm. It was a little crowded at the first bar. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks. We then walked through the first outside area towards the back building. There was a band setting up to play as well as the basketball game on the big projector screen. The atmosphere reminded me of college but so much better. The place was HUGE and even though there were people everywhere, there was still plenty of room to be comfortable. We were only there for about an hour, so we didn't order food. I definitely want to come back to experience the food and the day time atmosphere. I'd also love to bring my dog to join :) read more

For the sports fanatic, the games are showing on multiple screens and most weekends there is live music at night. On chilly weekends the fire pits are going. Just was in this place. It was awful!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. We are visiting our daughter in Memphis, and are from Chicago. I have never had such bad service ever! We had to return our food because it was cold. When we walked back to the table the cook was yelling about having to cook two of our meals again. When we got our meals again it was not much warmer, and the brisket tasted like lighter fluid. We have been to many restaurants in Memphis and have had great service and food! The atmosphere is amazing! Love the space. Huge outdoor bar with multiple areas for games, firepits or benches to hang out and grab some food. We had a few people in our group order food, it all looked amazing and they enjoyed it- but it was pricey. $8 for 2 1/2 ears of corn(so yes $8 for 1 ear!) it's isn't bar food, it's a little fancy but still looked good. Did not visit too long just stopped by to check this place out...have been hearing a lot of buzz. This place was such a surprise it is like a little park in the middle of no where! The bar area is super cool they look to have a full bar plus wine and beer. There is a good bit of outdoor seating really the main area with a awesome waterfall parked right in the middle. You order your food from a window outside and can order drinks outside and in. We did not eat this time but the food coming out looked and smelled amazing one of the chefs there suggested we get the brisket and I will be back to try it! The yard area is so nice I can defiantly see coming back this summer with a blanket and just hanging out. This is a great add to Memphis reminds me of a few places I have been to and loved in Nashville & Dallas. I can see this place being a big hit. read more
