Beautiful rooms and great service. One negative...ask about party noise before you settle into your room. Really bad noise from ballroom below and at $350 a night...shouldn't have to put up with that. Ben. The night manager was great. Moved us to a beautiful room. Only one of three available. In a sold out night. I loved it...would definitely go back!! read more

This resort is in the perfect spot in Vail Village. Although it usually is overpriced, we got our room through Priceline which made it worth it. They are in the process of remodeling some things but it was a little bit of a let down bc the tv was in and out and the a/c was difficult to figure out because there were just buttons when you walk in and they aren't labeled. The staff was very friendly and helpful which was wonderful. read more

I always stay at the Lodge At Vail. It's so convenient to everything...skiing, drinking, eating. The staff is very friendly and I haven't had a bad experience in the 6 years I've been going. read more

Our stay at the Lodge this last weekend started off on a bad foot and the first thing I thought to do was run to Yelp and tell everyone about the bad experience, however, the staff stepped up and made it right. I booked my King Bed reservation through the parent company website (rockresorts.com). When I arrived to check-in, they gave me two queen beds. I told them that I reserved a king bed and they said that there wasn't a note on the reservation since I reserved through a third party. I told them that I didn't reserve this via hotels.com, but through their web site. They promptly told me that the parent company web site it not hooked into their system. After a bit of back and forth, the manager upgraded us to a suite that had a king bed. The manager on duty saved this from being a bad review! The bed was amazing, not sure of the brand, but we slept great! The room was nice and the bathroom was great. A good bathroom in a hotel is a big bonus for me. The two eating establishments in the hotel are way overpriced, even for Vail standards. There are two pools (one indoor and one outdoor, which is heated). The greatest thing about the Lodge is the location. Its located in the heart of Vail Village and is an easy walk to anywhere in the village. It has multiple paths to different areas of town. My wife enjoyed the spa services and said that the spa was clean and the services were reasonably priced. I was a little disappointed by the overnight parking fee. We were charged $20 per night to park our car. This would have been a 5 star review if the parking fee wasn't so expensive. I believe that if you are a guest, parking should be free. All-in-all, it was a good stay at a good hotel with great location. If you plan on staying at the Lodge, I would recommend calling their in-house reservation staff for your reservations. read more

Really nice facility, friendly staff. Rooms were great, a bit small but a very cozy. Tried to get room service breakfast, unfortunately the staff never picked up the door hanger order form. Would stay here again! read more

Pretty pricey for run down and bare bones accommodations. I cannot remember the last time I stayed in a resort type lodge without air conditioning in the heat of summer. The "patio" has worn wood and splinters for little toes abound. Our expensive three bedroom is positioned right over the noisy restaurant- which we have to listen to all night as we have to keep the windows open to cool off a bit. Tiny bathroom space- I am small but can barely fit in the MASTER bath and close the door! Was told the place is pet friendly but hat our run down condo wouldn't allow it- can only imagine what the pet friendly rooms look like! The kitchen has almost no amenities and the floor plan is just strange and hard to navigate- NOT kid friendly. The customer service is the only redeeming quality and the reason I didn't give it two stars. Will stay elsewhere next time. read more

after two days of skiing, we took a break and had a great time at the Spa at the Rockresort. Really nice relaxing atmosphere. Ask for Genieve. She literally gave me the best massage I have ever had. We also add the honey foot treatment. Great way to spoil yourself and take a needed break from the slopes. Highly recommend it! read more

This was the worst service I have received at a hotel of this "high standard". The problems started when we arrived a bit early, and our room was not ready. This was fine as we were going to do some shopping, so we left our car keys with valet, as requested, and went out. We returned again and was promised it would be no longer than 20 miutes, and they would call when ready. We checked again 45 minutes later, and still not ready. The front staff were quite rude. At 4:00, check in time I went and finally checked in, never receiving a phone call about the room. In all this, valet had misplaced our car keys as well. The room was nice but rather noisy. Only 1 of the hot tubs worked of the 4 and people were smoking all over the place, even though they are considered a non smoking property. Upon check out at 11:00 I received a very judgemental 'waiting til the last minute!', to which I said their website says checkout is at noon, she replied no its 11. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone at this price. read more

I love staying at the Lodge at Vail. The landscape is breathtaking with the mountains & trees. Ultra close to the ski lifts. The best entertainment, restaurants, and shopping all with- in walking distance. I always ask for the newly remodeled rooms. Very spacious including the restroom, which is huge. The bed is like a cloud plan on sleeping like a baby. My patio faced Elway's beautifully landscaped and cobblestone. This resort hotel is so close to everything no car needed. read more

For the price it should be a lot better. Dated and not very clean. Bathroom had been remodeled so it was okay, but there is no A/C and it was hot! Miserable night sleep, just a fan and open windows... Didn't cool us off. $25 a day mandatory valet parking. Pool is nice, location is nice, but dishes we ate from were set outside by housekeeping and for 2 days (staff never picked them up), walls were dirty, linens were stained, lamp had something spilled all over shade. For what they charge the rooms should be in much, much better shape. You can have bottled water for only $10 though!!! What a deal!! LOL I saw other guests arrive, and leave within minutes. The pictures don't match what you actually get. read more

It is a very good hotel. I enjoyed it perfectly. But if all things are equal, I might opt for any of the other similarly priced hotels in the area. Several shortcomings for such a high-end hotel: -The place is a maze. Because it started small (first hotel in Vail), all the expansions are haphazard and perplexing. There are half floors and rooms in word places. The front desk guy had to show us to our room and even he got lost on the way! -Plumbing kept making noises throughout the night and cold air came in through gaps in the balcony door (we were warm but it's sure a waste of electricity) -WiFi was completely unreliable and went out every 5 minutes or so, making it virtually impossible to get anything done online (this happened on both Mac and PC) -Hidden fees everywhere. 20% gratuity and additional resort fees were charged for room service, overall stay, etc. Even a donation to the forestry(?) service was added without our knowledge. That said it was still a really great experience for me. Great service, beautiful setup, very quaint and cozy with vintage photos everywhere (they don't let you forget they were the first in Vail), free sauna, great outdoor fire pit, good restaurants, pet friendly (idk much - inquire yourself), ski runs/lift right outside the door, incredible cookies... I had a great time. read more

My wife and I came up from Denver for a quick weekend getaway and had the Lodge at Vail recommended to us. What a huge disappointment. Our room was blazingly hot when we checked at mid-afternoon, and it stayed hot throughout the evening and night. Despite getting several fans from the hotel and leaving both the door and window open, it was totally ridiculous! A friend with a thermometer on his sports watch measured temps in the 80s in the room in the evening, though it was in the lows 60s outside! No A/C, not uncommon in Colorado with our generally temperate days and cool mountain nights, but for premium prices, one excepts premium accommodations! I noted numerous similar critiques for the facility on other websites - so I'm sure hotel is aware of this problem, but has chosen to do nothing about it. One sad note to add. Mickey's Piano Bar, where, Micky Poage. a Vail institution, has reigned supreme for over 35 years, is closing down. We caught Micky's final public performance during the evening. People from around the world were there for his final weekend. Besides keeping us out of our hot room, Micky gave a wonderful evening of entertainment. He's an astonishing pianist. A new Elway's Steakhouse is taking over both the restaurant and Mickey's. Come on, John, keep Micky at the keyboard! read more

They Don't change bed sheets during your stay. They Don't wash glasses, just use a towel and leave hair and fuzz in glass during your stay. Lights in room works one time, then doesn't then next 5 times. Good luck trying to use a blowdryer in a room. It will not stay on. Something is wrong with their electrical. All their bathroom amenities don't work right including the heated floor and heated towel rack which completely is broken. Concierge gave me wrong info. They don't care about their workers scraping ice off tables in front of your room at 7am. This hotel really was disappointing. I will be back to Vail but not at this motel. All the men workers were not friendly including the ones wearing suits which are probably managers. I only received night turn down service 1 night out of 4... I HAD TO CLEAN THE BATHROOM AFTER THE MAID! read more

Great location, excellent service, outstanding food, very comfortable rooms, nice spa.... We are regulars and continues to be our top choice in Vail read more

I recently got married in Vail as it is where me and my now husband met. We stayed at the Lodge at Vail since it was close to the reception and allowed dogs. it was also one of the properties we actually worked at while living in vail. Jeff at the front desk was beyond helpful and accommodating. They originally had us in a property managed by the Lodge but not in the Lodge, being that my entire bridal party was staying there, they were able to get us a room in the actual building. He was very pleasant to work with. The Ladies at the spa (and 1 male i met) were all great and even gave me and my girls a bottle of champagne after our massages. The F&B director was also great, we didn't officially have a welcome party but we came up with the idea of having a small gathering around the pool. He made that possible. Finally Patrick (i really think that was his name) was also very pleasant to work with. He worked valet and shuttled us over to Lionshead to get me to my ceremony since we were running late... NOW, the reason for only 3 stars and not more (if it wasn't for those listed above, they would have a much less rating). Housekeeping didn't clean our room for 2 days. The day of the wedding and the day after. We went to the front desk once we were leaving the room (at 2p) to let them know they could now clean the room. They didn't. We got back around 530 just to switch shoes before the reception and the room wasn't clean. We told them again that we were on our way to the reception and if they could clean the room that would be wonderful. They didn't even do a turn down service that night. Working for VR at both the lodge and the Arrabelle typically on your honeymoon night they do something nice, instead we came back to a dirty room and not even a mention of getting married. I wouldn't mind so much if we didn't spend all that money at VR properties (the wedding deck, the 10th and most of our guests were in VR hotels). I own a B&B and ALWAYS make sure to do something special for the honeymoon night, that is a night you will only experience once. When my coordinator (who stayed the night at the lodge) confronted the GM, she was told "they were in the room all day" and when she asked about not receiving the strawberries for our honeymoon night the GM turned and walked away. You would think that the next day they would want to do something for us but nope, nothing, in fact, even after I put the "service please" sign on the door, they still didnt clean the room. This time they at least did a quick turn down service but left all the trash in the room. so because the dropped the ball on my actual wedding night, they only get 3 stars (again, it would be worse if the staff i mentioned above werent really good at their jobs) read more

Do not go to this hotel. The service is a disaster. They told me they had booked me on a shuttle to the Denver airport for 7:30 in the morning. I arrived in the lobby at 7AM and the front desk had no idea what I was talking about, and the shuttle was not booked. I had to scramble to find a taxi which cost $500. The hotel said they would be in touch to rectify the situation and despite 5 phone calls to them, they have never responded. Beyond that, the service was awful. The concierge recommended a restaurant that was closed when we showed up. They recommended another place that they said had a fun night scene and there was literally nobody in the restaurant at 8pm. SPA REVIEW: We couldn't have wished for a better customer service experience than what we have received in the Lodge at Vail Spa. Brenda greeted our group of 8 upon the arrival, explained all saunas and rooms layout and options, took us through changing rooms and amenities usage, and dedicated plenty of time to our group to ensure for all the questions to be answered. After the sauna time, Brenda let us test out some of the products in the spa shop and we followed up with a purchase the next day as some of the products were very unique and not easily found in retail. Excellent customer service, clean saunas and hot pool, lemon and lime water, plenty of towels and bath accessories would make us come back to the spa again and again, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vail. Such an excellent place to visit during your stay, and we couldn't thank Brenda enough for her time and attention. read more

We stayed here for our 4 year anniversary for two nights. The night we got there we checked in a little early, which was nice. We immediately brought our bags to our room, changed clothes & 1 hour later left the hotel for the entire night..our car was still sitting in the driveway ready for us...it hadn't been taken to the garage yet, naturally. We didn't return until 4am b/c of heavy snow/ice coming back up from Denver. But upon checkout, I looked at our receipt & they had charged us $20/day for that 1st day of parking..even tho our car was NOT touched by a valet & we did NOT using their parking that day, we went down to Denver. I understand how parking works at resorts, but have never had this kind of rude treatment. The second day we spent our anniversary lounging around the hotel/pool/spa. So of course we were charged for parking that day. We checked out the next morning by 11 as requested, & were charged for that "day" of parking as well. Which is a little sleazy, but resorts have to make money too. So we were parked there for 1.5 days, so naturally one would assume 2 full days of payment for parking services. Makes sense. HOWEVER, upon checkout, we had been charged for 3 DAYS of parking?!! Why not just the 2 we were actually there?? (Our car had sat waiting for us in the DRIVEWAY, NOT GARAGE for 1 hour while we put our things in our room...we had our car parked the next morning @4 when we re-arrived)) The spa services (which included steamroom, sauna, etc) were excellent I'm glad we chose to do that. The ladies there provided top-notch services & were really friendly, but not too talkative. The hot tub/pool were also very nice, but closed at 8pm...the sun isn't even down by then! We aren't children, & this is Vail! We were very annoyed when a maintenance man came at 8pm sharp to kick everyone out of that area. NOT CLASSY! Made us very annoyed on our anniversary. I will say, we had a bottle of wine that night & forgot a corkscrew, so they sent one up to our room immediately. But that is something almost any hotel would do....Also, they claim to have multiple hot tubs...yeah there's only 1. The other was closed & another was off limits to resort customers, as it was for members of the neighboring fitness club only. Overall, DITCH THIS PLACE. It's the oldest resort in Vail, & the interior is very nice & vintage,& it's what you'd expect at the price. But if you want real high quality services for the things you actually pay for, then find somewhere else in the price range!! Valet eye candy is about the only reliable thing you'll get here. read more

My wife and I went to their spa at the last minute, we had a great experience! I had an 80 minute massage, and my wife had a 80 minute facial. This hotel is a great value and perfect location! Would recommend anyone staying here and would stay again. Staff was friendly, room was comfortable (make sure to request an updated room. They are all individually owned). They will go above and beyond when you are a guest and they are genuine. If you don't want to pay to stay at a place like The Four Seasons I would highly recommend staying here. Only complaint was the heater in our room was a bit tricky and we had a hard time adjusting it to what we wanted so we slept with the windows open which was actually very refreshing and nice. And the bathroom could have been more modern/updated but truly not bad. read more

Gus Gus Gus and all the other guys and gals at the front. Always on point. Friendly. Remembers me every year I come up. Always able to go above and beyond to create the best experience possible for your mountain vacation. The rooms are good. The residences are amazing. Wood burning fireplaces and great views of the mountain. Elways for steak on property and Yama sushi in the same building as well. Best mountain side resort in vail. Large pool and two huge hot tubs. I'll always be back for more here. read more

The Lodge at Vail was wonderful both times we have stayed here. This establishment was worth every penny. Each employee that I interacted with was helpful, friendly and informed. Room was clean and well appointed, beds were comfy and location is perfect. The only negative was that the water from the plants on the balcony above us dripped on to our balcony furniture which made it unusable. I would stay here again if I had the chance! read more

When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly staff that checked us in promptly. Our room is slightly small but still cozy and comfortable. We had a slight problem that our A/C wasn't working but so we called the concierge and they sent a repairmen quickly. Have been here multiple times. The location cannot be beat. Some rooms are better than others and you'll be placed based on the rate you're paying, judging from prior experience. I would not recommend this lodge. The lodge is outdated and not worth the price regardless of its location. When we arrived, we were provided a two bedroom condominium unit that had, obviously, never been updated. We objected and were then provided an updated unit, however, (1) the showers constantly ran out of hot water after a few short minutes (notwithstanding our complaints and the lodge's attempt to fix the problem) and (2) the noise from the village just below our unit kept us up well past midnight (from the dinner and bar crowds) and woke us up around 6:30 am each day (from the trash pickups). We initially had reservations at another lodge and changed due to the proximity of this lodge to the ski runs and the lodge's website. read more

Our stay at The Lodge was very disappointing. The renovation construction was awful. We asked about renovation work twice during the reservation process. Both times we were told there wasn't any renovation until August. That just wasn't true. It was ongoing next door and at a poolside unit. Rooms were hot and not well cared for. Our next stay in beautiful Vail will not be at this very disappointing hotel. read more
