"A cool brewery in a nice quaint area that is close to the interstate for fast and easy access to a delicious beer and surprisingly good food." When me and my girlfriend take road trips or mini vacations we try to hit up every brewery in that area and/or surrounding areas. On a recent birthday trip to Rocky Gap Resort that my sweet and beautiful girlfriend arranged for us we stopped in here during the early evening last week. As we pulled up I liked the whole aesthetics of this place. So we walked in and the place was pretty busy for an early Sunday evening but I believe it was because of the musicians that were scheduled to play. I noticed a lot of cool metal art which I later found out the owner created. That's awesome! We immediately walked up to the bar and ordered a couple of beers. - Shanty Irish Red Ale for my gf 4/5 - Iron Bird Hazy IPA for me 5/5 As we were enjoying our beers the people next to us received a food order and I looked at my girlfriend and said that pizza looks good. She replied, You want me to get us one? I giggled because she is a foodie like me lol. So we looked over the menu and decided on a 10" cheese pizza with mushrooms & jalapeños and a small order of chicken bites with honey mustard. So after about 10 minutes our buzzer went off and my gf walked up to get our food. We really enjoyed every bit of the pizza and chicken bites. Thank you! - Pizza 4/5 - Chicken Bites 4/5 While we were eating our food there were two people who started playing music and this is why this place gets 4 not 5 stars. Not because the musicians weren't good but because a place this size should never have people playing music so loud that you can't even have a normal conversation without saying huh or yelling. One of the two owners came over and asked if I'd like another beer and I could barely hear her and then the other owner came over and introduced himself to us and talked to us for about 5 minutes or so about the brewery, business, art, etc. and we could barely hear him and some things he said we couldn't make out, which sucks because I would have loved to chat with him without a loud distraction. Seemed like a very interesting and knowledgeable man. Next time my guy. Listen, I'm a huge brewery person and this brewery has great vibes and everything you could want to enjoy while visiting one but having musicians with amps blasting inside no longer makes it what makes breweries great and then turns into a bar. The whole reason of going to a brewery is to enjoy good beer, good food, and good conversation and that's impossible with music blasting. You can either be a bar or a brewery but you can't be both. Light music or acoustic would be much better in my opinion and my opinion should matter because I've been to hundreds of breweries across the United States. What a great place to come back to. We came on a Sunday, there was one tv with a game on, but no one cared. The music was playing and it was upbeat and talented. I've been here a few times before. My wife and I fell in love with this place the first time we were here. The owner is personable, friendly and enjoys his work. You can tell by the way he carries himself. And his wife is right next to him. With her own smile. All that said, the real reason for coming is the beer. This place has much to offer. On the menu are a Belgian white, a seasonal lager, Kolach, Hefeweizen, Irish red, stouts, IPAs, and a porter. I ask you to find that much of a choice in any other brewery and walk out angry. It cannot be done. For today I had tastes of the pumpkin, harvest ale and lager, before settling on the lager. TBH we came for the Hefeweizen but they just ran out. Hadn't known of this place, but saw they were hosting Shanty Irish on St. Patrick's day, While we couldn't get there for the music, we did stop for lunch today. Excellent beer and food. Dog friendly. We visited Locust Post Brewery for a camping trip and it was such a memorable time! For those who do not know, there are 3 camp spots on site a short distance away from the brewery itself. This is so convenient because you can walk right up for some food and drinks and walk right back when you're ready to settle in or when they close. Speaking of food, we ordered several pizzas and beers and everything was pretty good! I am not entirely sure if they make the pizzas fresh on-site but nonetheless it matched the brewery vibes. Each topping is $2 per pizza. The beers on the other hand were fantastic! We tried several different ones and although it was not one I could drink all night, the jalapeno based one was a good change of pace. It was not super bitter or spicy and had a very light touch at the end. The service was great too! They knew right away that we were the group camping and they made sure we did not need anything during our stay. They even delivered on giving us stickers the day after right before we left! They were so personable and I would highly recommend camping or just visiting the site! I look forward to going back soon! read more

TLDR: Unique brewery that allows you to rent camp sites right on the brewery grounds. Come for the fun camping experience! My group had a great time camping at Locust Post! My group of 8 reserved the 2 adjacent camp sites the farthest away from the brewery. The drive up camp sites are well maintained and include a fire ring as well as a picnic table. We had ample tree cover as well as plenty of room to setup a rather large camp with numerous vehicles. From the campsite, you can walk to brewery in about 5 minutes which is a major perk. Our group definitely took advantage of this during our stay. Several of us utilized the superlative shower and bathroom facilities as well as had a nice evening at the brewery filled with live music, pizza and solid brews! Tony and Denise were more than welcoming and did a wonderful job making sure our stay was enjoyable. Overall, what a unique camping experience that is a perfect weekend getaway! read more

What a lovely stop on our journey! We were hungry and thirsty and we always seek out breweries. The building is lovely. The art is a feast for the eyes. Even the restrooms were adorable. We had some beers and ordered pizza. They have a nice selection of beers. The Freak of Nature has a pleasant jalapeño taste on the front end, but no hot aftertaste on the back end. I have a fever for the flavor and I enjoy unique beers. The pizza was tasty. We enjoyed samples from the brewer and artist. Our server was very personable. We would stop there again. read more

This was a great stop on our journey home. Since we were stopping for lunch during a six hour drive, we went non-alcoholic with some organic ginger soda and root beer. The food options are mostly snacks, but the pizza was pretty darn good. The atmosphere is fun and very relaxing. it was nice to sit outside in the shade and see such a spectacular view. The team was friendly and service was prompt. The owner lives on site and was there when we visited. He is committed to the community and is just good and friendly! There are campgrounds and showers on site for people who wish to take advantage of camping and visiting the parks nearby. read more

Took a farm field and made it a beautiful brewery and music venue. We were in the area on a multi-day backpacking trip and they were so kind to allow us to park our filthy selves there for a few hours. The place has a small campground which thankfully included showers. The beer was great. The main hall has great Art and reclaimed architectural touches. I think we will skip backpacking next time and just stay here! read more

Stopped off here to enjoy a few beers, a pizza and a delicious pretzel dessert. The owners, Denise and Tony, were warm, inviting and clearly loved by the locals who also stopped in that night. We were also treated to live music (which was terrific as well.) I have no idea what all the mask business was about, but we spoke about how seriously they took the pandemic as owners and the lengths they went to protect their patrons. Nice people, great beer. This place is great and a must stop by if your traveling in western Maryland. It's seconds from the Interstate. My wife and I stopped there on a Friday afternoon on our way to Deep Creek as this was the only brewery out that way that opened before 4pm. We were so happy we did and will be back. This place is a must see, very nice location, very cool and unique decor, etc. Both owners were there when we stopped by and they are very warm, hospitable, and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting there, drinking some beer, and chatting with them. We can't wait until summer and there are more activities going on at this brewery, we'll have to make a trip back up that way and make a weekend of it. read more
