It was ok. I'll start off by saying that I'm not much of a beer drinker. My partner is though. We came in to get drinks to go with our food (we got food from the food truck outside "Firebox"). The food from Firebox was good and it was a generous portion for the price. The drink options that were not beer were limited, and half of those options on the menu weren't available. My partner got the berry chocolate stout and said it was "pretty good". We hoped to sit outside, but the only available table had broken glass all over it from a busted door. It does have convenient parking and I liked the industrial decor. The service was good and the lady was very nice. One thing I will point out is that one of our glasses had pink lipstick on it from a previous customer. But if you only want beer and a place to chill - it might be just right for you. read more

3 - Solid choice if you're in the area. Skip to the end to see my rating scale. Starting with the venue, it's really my kind of place. I appreciate the industrial feel and open plan. I also appreciate the ample outdoor seating available. Always a big plus for me, even if the outdoor area is really just tables set up on the sidewalk overlooking the parking lot - as it is in this case. The service was fine. It wasn't crazy busy there but the bartender had a little edge to her like we were more on an annoyance than a patron. They have a refill club where you can buy a mug and get your name printed on it with discounted refills. Again I appreciate that kind of thing, but the bartender seemed way more interested in some of the regulars than us. Just the vibe she gave off that night I guess. And lastly the beer...it's solid. Not great, but solid. Lots of darker beers which is fine for me personally, but the darks outnumbered the IPAs, pilsners, etc the night we were there. I'd expect a little more variety. Still, it's good enough that I'd go back next time I'm in Cumberland, but not so good that I'd make a special trip out of my way. My scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive up to 30 minutes just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here read more

Such a great spot! There was a live band playing on the Saturday evening I came, but the volume was fine and not overly loud. I think it also helped that there weren't too many people in so the noise didn't get out of control. The selection is extensive, and I was stoked that they had THREE sours. All of them were delicious, but the Pedro... WOW. A pineapple jalapeño sour that actually burned. It tasted like salsa verde. Soooooo good. Connor is a great bartender and told me a lot about the brewery, the beers, and Cumberland in general. If I lived in the area this would be a regular hangout for me. read more

Awesome brewery in Cumberland Maryland. The venue is inside a really cool renovated warehouse and the brews, which are IPA forward are excellent. Enjoyed stopping here while on vacation traveling to western PA from Virginia. Would recommend having a DD on. The trip! read more

This place was open for take away during pandemic. They could not provide samples but we could take crowlers to go. The prices were decent and the beers were EXCELLENT! We were camping about 45 min away and made the trip in. Definitely worth it. Staff was friendly and helpful describing the beers. read more

An excellent place to meet with friends for a top notch brewery experience. Typically brewing on Friday daytime and occasional Saturday as well. The experience is amazing to see and smell from the brew kettle will take you to another place that has no tv's blaring in the background, no canned music and no "Bar" vibes. This is a brewery that makes great beer and has other great refreshments as well for your friends and family who may not drink alcohol like root beer and other bottled drinks like an orange cream soda or a ginger ale. The staff allowed my group to have food from another establishment to be delivered to us and we were able to remain there and enjoy the company and I liked that a lot. I hate when you meet with a group of friends and then have to decide where to go to eat , at Dig Deep we didn't have to go and regroup at another location. They even have a selection of board games that we had fun with, and we didn't have a bunch of sports announcers or random tv's taking attention from the fun we were having as a group. We loved the historic industrial building with the brewery inside it was large but not so much that it became cold or uninviting it was just comfortable and amazing and we enjoyed ourselves more than we expected and we certainly expect to be back again, and again, I almost forgot that they were also dog friendly and we had visitors and they were able to bring their little dog with them too. I recommend the next beer you have is from dig deep. No matter your preference there's surely a selection for anyone even a beer or Ale aficionado would enjoy a stop at Dig Deep. Cheers! read more

Stopped in on our way through from VA to PA. It's a Wednesday at 4, just as soon as they opened. The bartender was super friendly and informative. We got two of their different IPAs (west coast and new school IPAs) and loved them. Fair prices too @$7 each. Interior is clean, good music overhead. Would love to come back. read more

So stoked to have a good brewery at this location off 68W. I've been waiting a long time. It's literally a stone's throw from the highway and the exit ramp will dump you right in. Take a break here on your way to ski, climb, or raft out in WV!!! They had an excellent live country string band in from Pittsburg and the sound system was far better than it needed to be. We were able to enjoy our chess game, conversation, beers, and the live music all at a once. Someone clearly knew what they were doing as far as acoustics. Folks were friendly especially the staff Beers: Options were as to be expected with a brand new place. Few IPAs, Heff, and a gently sweetened stout. There was also a dubbel that was super legit - all the right notes and balances of malty goodness with subtle fruit notes without being sugary. The stout was well executed but pretty by the book - I feel like it was tactfully designed to appeal to a wide range. Overall I think it was clear the brewmaster is not new to the craft and designed the beers with intent. I had one IPA which was again balanced and did not go heavy on any particular hop or flavor. I'd reckon north eastern style if I had to label it. Again this place is brand new so the story to TBD. Easily a cut above a typical brewery opener for quality. I'll be anxious to see what direction the place goes for non-basic beers. read more

The location is great. Super cool building. We were here on a Friday and there was live music. It was so loud the bartender could not hear us. Everyone was trying to get outside seats because of the deafening music. The beer was ok the bar tender did not show much enthusiasm when we asked about the beers. I asked if the porter was chocolatey and he said "it's just a porter. " no further explanation. So I still would give it a 3.5 but couldn't do a half star above. read more

Dig Deep Brewing was still operating with the Covid Restrictions and it looked fairly well distanced between each party that was inside. I drove 40 minutes to try out this place, and was definitely satisfied that they were still allowing people to partake the experience indoors. One downfall was that their phone number, when called, only gave the hours of operations, and did not have an option to speak to anyone, so luckily they were still opened amidst Covid Regulations. The beers that were sold were amazingly priced and was more than happy that they offered beer flights as well. Especially since the flights meant I didn't have to drink a pint for every single beer I wanted to try. My favorite beers were Cloudy with a Chance of Wheat, Sidechick, and Bloody Good Orange. The flights came out on a pretty cool looking wooden palate. The sidechick is one the better blondes I've tasted thus far and the Bloody Good Orange had a beautiful color to it. Another plus with this brewery was that they looked like they had boardgames and cards, however, with the covid regulations it was a little sad we could not have fun with them. It would be amazing if they had any food options as well, but, you can't ask for everything! And even so... right next to the brewery is a multitude of fast food restaurants that you can enjoy before or after visiting the brewery. read more

But their service was even better: My wife and I visited from out-of-town, and I accidentally left my credit card there when we returned home. They mailed it back to me in a couple of days!
