I've been here a few times before. My wife and I fell in love with this place the first time we were here. The owner is personable, friendly and enjoys his work. You can tell by the way he carries himself. And his wife is right next to him. With her own smile. All that said, the real reason for coming is the beer. This place has much to offer. On the menu are a Belgian white, a seasonal lager, Kolach, Hefeweizen, Irish red, stouts, IPAs, and a porter. I ask you to find that much of a choice in any other brewery and walk out angry. It cannot be done. For today I had tastes of the pumpkin, harvest ale and lager, before settling on the lager. TBH we came for the Hefeweizen but they just ran out. On a recent birthday trip to Rocky Gap Resort that my sweet and beautiful girlfriend arranged for us we stopped in here during the early evening last week. As we pulled up I liked the whole aesthetics of this place. So we walked in and the place was pretty busy for an early Sunday evening but I believe it was because of the musicians that were scheduled to play. I noticed a lot of cool metal art which I later found out the owner created. That's awesome! We immediately walked up to the bar and ordered a couple of beers. - Shanty Irish Red Ale for my gf 4/5 - Iron Bird Hazy IPA for me 5/5 As we were enjoying our beers the people next to us received a food order and I looked at my girlfriend and said that pizza looks good. She replied, You want me to get us one? I giggled because she is a foodie like me lol. So we looked over the menu and decided on a 10" cheese pizza with mushrooms & jalapeños and a small order of chicken bites with honey mustard. So after about 10 minutes our buzzer went off and my gf walked up to get our food. We really enjoyed every bit of the pizza and chicken bites. Not because the musicians weren't good but because a place this size should never have people playing music so loud that you can't even have a normal conversation without saying huh or yelling. One of the two owners came over and asked if I'd like another beer and I could barely hear her and then the other owner came over and introduced himself to us and talked to us for about 5 minutes or so about the brewery, business, art, etc. and we could barely hear him and some things he said we couldn't make out, which sucks because I would have loved to chat with him without a loud distraction. Seemed like a very interesting and knowledgeable man. Next time my guy. Listen, I'm a huge brewery person and this brewery has great vibes and everything you could want to enjoy while visiting one but having musicians with amps blasting inside no longer makes it what makes breweries great and then turns into a bar. The whole reason of going to a brewery is to enjoy good beer, good food, and good conversation and that's impossible with music blasting. You can either be a bar or a brewery but you can't be both. Light music or acoustic would be much better in my opinion and my opinion should matter because I've been to hundreds of breweries across the United States. Beers are refreshing but the service is a tad on the slow side. The Kolsh and the Lager were cold and needed on a warm day after hiking the Appalachian trails. We initially were stopped in our tracks by the doors being locked and the business being closed which was a surprise to us because I had read on Yelp the hours were 4-10ish but we'd later find out that was more like 4ish to 10ish. Haha! We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in. We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! Thanks Shorty for the recommendation. It's now on my favorite list. After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out. They played us their new music on the jukebox and it was very good and we also met a local guy who had just been inducted into the WV Music Hall Of Fame. Damn, these are the days I live for! Listen, this place is 100% awesome! The owner Laura is amazing, the locals are kind and friendly, the beer is super cold and mostly local but some of your other favorites too, she makes her own wine and it's on tap, the food looks good, she supports locals businesses as well by purchasing their stuff for resale, it's roomy and they have a pool table. They had a dunkel, an American wheat, a festbier, an American style oktoberfest (seasonally), plus many others. The beer was generally good, but not always exceptional. I'm also very opinionated around beer, so take that with a grain of salt. Overall, this was a nice find. It made for a fun afternoon while I was in the area.

Good northern style cream Ale At Wits End Belgian Wit 5% ABV... a little more hoppy than I would have expected, still the Belgian flavor came through Gentle Twenty America Pale Ale 6.2% ABV... Wow!!! Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting.
