My tenant called me around 8:30 PM on a Saturday night when I was out of town. She was panicked because she was locked into her condo on the 8th floor. The doorknob remained in a locked position even after she took the inside knob off with a screwdriver. Other people in the building tried to help, but even with the knob leading into the common hallway was removed by them, the door wouldn't budge because the bolt was broken. I called several 24/7 Locksmiths and this was the first to respond. Because I was worried about my tenant being trapped in her apartment, I didn't wait for any of the other locksmiths. He said it would be $265 to take care of it. The request I sent from Yelp clearly said I needed her doorknob replaced. Later I received other quotes from $175 to $225, but I didn't mind because she needed to be able to leave her condo! The next day, the tenant called and let me know the doorknob was still broken. She was now able to leave her condo by simply unlocking the inside doorknob, but she could no longer lock or unlock her condo from outside. When she'd insert the key, it would simply turn in a complete 360 and do nothing to lock or unlock the door. (Fortunately, her deadbolt worked-as it always had.) I called the locksmith, explained the situation, sent him photos and a video. He told me the locksmith didn't replace the lock (as I clearly requested, he just fixed it so she could get out. WHAT? He then told me they would replace the doorknob for an additional $125, and he wouldn't charge me any trip charges. He told me he would have charged $400 if the locksmith had to replace the knob. WHAT? He gave me a quote, in writing for $265 to replace the knob that night. If I can't trust the locksmith to install a new doorknob for the amount promised, how can I trust them with doing locksmith work at all?! read more

We exchanged a few texts regarding the issue with the lock and I sent a couple of photographs of the lock. Ironically, I had no choice but, search YELP! outside the State Of California . . . Eureka~I discovered Locksmith 775 in RENO, NEVADA~YAY!!!!! WHAT? RENO, NEVADA? Are you INSANE???? NOPE~I know what I want and I'll buy what I need immediately!!!!! I called Locksmith 775 on 6/25/2018 in the morning: Ben answered the phone; I immediately began inquiring about purchasing three commercial, high-security locks for my home which Ben immediately confirmed he can order and have the high-security, handle locks in his store located in RENO, NEVADA by 6/26/2018~WOW-PHENOMENAL!!!!! Couldn't find my keys annnnywhere one morning & I had a spare key fob that wasn't activated yet - I reached out to a few vendors, & most of them didn't even want my business because I had my own spare key fob.. but Locksmith775 replied almost right away & they had no issue with me having my own key fob. They were happy to provide me with one of theirs if needed but didn't pressure me at all! Communication with them was easy & they were friendly when they arrived to help me program my key. Recently a first time home buyer, I needed a good locksmith to change two deadbolts on my house the day I was moving in on a Friday evening. I called three or four companies for estimates before finding Locksmith 775. He was the most friendliest and reasonable person I spoke to over the phone so I "locked" him in for five o'clock that day. I found it quite professional of him to ask me to bring along documentation for proof that I was the actual homeowner. When I asked him how I should pay he said he would prefer cash, obviously. On my way to the house after work, rushing before 5:00 traffic and distraught over everything stressful going on in my life, I made a friendly pit-stop at the ATM to get his money. Not thinking and so focused on trying to make it there on time, I completely left my $100 in the ATM and drove away!!! So I ended up paying the locksmith by credit card anyways and I still have a claim for this matter pending with Wells Fargo :( GRRRR!!! I wanted to cry! Finally I arrived at the house promptly by 5:00 and he wasn't there. Waiting and waiting - twenty minutes goes by and I decide to call him, he says he is on his way and shows up at 5:30. I think I spoke with Shon and he could not have been more helpful. Even gave me a call when the tech was 20 minutes out. We had a deadbolt lock that was sticking and hard to turn due to a poor installation by the previous homeowners.
