Went here for lunch today for the first time! I have been searching for years for a good Chinese restaurant close to home and this is it. As soon as we walked in we received a very friendly greeting, and the service and friendliness carried on throughout our meal. We ordered their lunch specials, I had the Mongolian beef, husband had Mongolian chicken and son had beef and tofu. We all enjoyed our meals and were very full. I would only wish that my food was a bit more spicy, but I'm sure they err on the side of caution. I will ask more vehemently in the future for more spice. I've been eating this dish for over 20 years and it never disappoints even though they changed chefs, they still use the same recipe. This is my go to lunch combo... comes with fried rice, egg roll and a bowl of hot n sour soup! And the sweet n sour sauce with a dab of hot mustard for the egg roll is like the cherry on top! My newest favorite Chinese place. We got Hunan beef, beef chow fun, kung pao chicken, walnut prawns, shredded pork with garlic and hot and sour soup. Everything was terrific. Fresh and cooked just right except for the heat. The items we ordered which notated spicy were not so I sprinkled hot chili flakes all around and brought up the heat to an appropriate level. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Consistently delicious, ginormous portions (always two full meals with every order), meat quality is good (doesn't taste like they're using the crappiest cuts of meat), and massive variety. In addition to their classic dishes, I love their seafood noodle soup (jjambong)! It's stacked with seafood and plenty for my husband and I to split. I was also pleasantly surprised (last week) to see that the plaza it is situated in had finally completed it remodeling construction...so surprised that I missed my turn because I was looking for scaffolding. In normal times, the parking lot does tend to get filled up. In COVID times, there plenty to go around. read more

A small gem located across from Volkswagen dealership! I called for take out and estimated time was 10 minutes from my call. Order: 1. Beef Chow Fun 2. Hot and Sour Soup Total costs: $24.50 So I didn't know my beef chow fun order would come with a small hot and sour soup. The portion size of the beef chow fun is huge! I was craving Chinese food and had to grab a quick bite for lunch. I checked out YELP to see what's around my location and Lock Chun popped up. My car was being worked on at a dealership around the corner so the location worked out really good. I ordered from the lunch menu and I was definitely super impressed with the quality and quantity. Soup, an egg roll and a big plate of Mongolian beef with a side of chow mein for $15!! My server was very nice and friendly and even though I was just there for a quick bite I really enjoyed the experience. When I'm in the area and in need of some champong, I mosey on over to Lock Chun. If you know champong, you'd appreciate when noodles are done justice. They serve what appears to be hand pulled noodles. My photo shows the variation in width with every strand and, lemme tell you, they have that right balance in bite and chewiness. Accompanying the newds are the customary veggies, pork, shrimp and squid. Lock Chun doesn't stop there as they also throw in scallops, which I don't see too often. Personally, I haven't tried the rest of their menu but why would I when they execute champong so well? We did a last minute takeout order, and our orders are always a little complicated given our kids general dislike of vegetables...not a problem for Lock Chun, they got our plain chow mein request with no explanation. The rest was straight forward. A little difficult to find amongst the dealerships. The food was ready right when they said it would be, and they were super nice. Everything was really good! The kids loved their chow mein, and the flavors of the lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli beef were all great. The chicken was a little dry, but other than that tue food was great. I went here for the first time for dinner and it was so delicious! Me and my friend ordered potstickers, chow mein, fried rice and Mongolian beef. Everything was super hot and tasted so good. The Mongolian beef was super tender and a little spicy, so good. The restaurant is a little small and the parking lot is a madhouse. So just be prepared or try to come and a less busy time. We tried this spot for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised. I don't eat much Chinese anymore, as I'm trying to avoid oils and msg, etc. But for my kids I have this place a whirl. It's crazy coming back here. My dad has been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. We stopped when management changed a few years back, but now that we've come back, it's nostalgic to see they haven't changed much besides updating some of the table format. The potstickers are a long time favorite since they have a thick skin and a crispy bottom. The orange peel beef is also a classic here and even has a note saying "you must try this!" Definitely became one of my fav Chinese Restaurant bacause of their orange peel beef. I LOVE Mandarin chinese food and this dish is da bomb. You can really taste the orange. The sauce is sweet and spicy. We also ordered the spicy garlic chicken which was definitely a Szechuan dish from the tangy sauce. Their rice got a little too dry but it was edible. Delicious little place and it's in the same parking lot as my favorite sushi place. The staff are super sweet and all of the dishes we got were really good. We got the chicken chow mein, the sweet-and-sour pork, orange peel beef, and the only thing that I wasn't really crazy about was their chicken salad appetizer. Caveat Emptor. They give you the first tab with tip based on 15% (other percentages too) of the food. After they take your credit card they give you the receipt bearing 15% tip (other percentages too) based on the price of the food PLUS the tax. So the original tip percentage is increased from the first tab. Bait and switch. Food wise, it's Americanized Chinese food. Most of it sweet, sour, and crunchy. Not authentic Chinese food. I expected this spot to be average but it surpassed my expectations for a sit-down Chinese restaurant. The restaurant was quiet (you don't hear the kitchen banging around utensils and dishes) and the service was polite. The food came out fairly quickly; once we were done with our hot & sour soup, the lunch specials came out. I was shocked out how large the portions were. It was very fulfilling and tasted delicious! I ordered the Mongolian beef with steamed rice. The rice was a little dry and could have been on the stickier side... but that's a minor issue. I will definitely be back here to try more dishes and satisfy my future Chinese food cravings. read more

Amazingly, for my final visit to the dealership, this lovely restaurant was right across the street. Great ratings, excellent photos, it didn't take me more than a minute or two to let my mother know where we would have lunch. We both loved the food. For both of us to love it, that speaks volumes. The service was great. They had the lunch specials on President's Day (but not on major holidays). Restaurant is clean, nicely lit, comfortable. Paid by card. I ordered easily over the phone and was able to pick up the food in 20 minutes on a weekday for dinner. Lock Chun is located in a small plaza on the left and offers some plaza parking. They are a little hard to find but look for the Chinese neon lights in the window. They are Covid ready with masks required. I ordered the wonton soup, garlic eggplant, beef chow fun, kung pao prawns, and egg rolls. I think the best dishes were the beef chow fun and soup, but I didn't really care for anything else. The garlic eggplant was a weird consistency and I didn't think the flavors of the other dishes were that good. Overall I'm not sure I would go back. read more

Someone in the area suggested this restaurant saying they had "good food". Very clean dining area, especially compared to a lot of similar restaurants we've been to. Had a fair amount of customers dining in & taking out. Would have been nice to order from the lunch special menu, but only available weekdays. Food came quickly. Tasty, no need to add additional soy sauce. Plates weren't huge, but enough food for us. A bit pricey for a simple lunch- $70 for 3 dishes plus steamed rice for 3 diners. The jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) were comforting and tasty. Their noodles are a perfect chewy texture. The seafood in the jjampong like the shrimps and scallops were cooked perfectly and didn't taste rubbery. The jajangmyeon could have used a bit more salt, but I still really liked it. The portion was pretty big as well. I consider this place a bit of a hidden gem! It's small and easy to miss on the outside. Service was quick and polite! The ambiance was a bit dimly lit inside, but maybe that was because it was raining outside and we went at 3pm on a Sunday. read more

I'm having delicious Mongolian beef and my mother is having lemon chicken. Let's be honest here, if this place were in a more... Asian-centric place, like Cupertino, then it'd probably be 3 stars. The food is objectively OK. But as this is in a place that doesn't have much Chinese competition, this place does alright. It's got the standard COVID measures... they built a wall of plastic around the entire entrance, with a cute little DIY hole cut out, so they can get your card. It's got a very mom-and-pop feel to the whole place. Food was decent! Catered a little bit to the American taste, but still JUUUST Chinese to appease our mom and my wife's HK palates. I have been a customer of Lock Chun for over 6 years. It was our go to place for Chinese Food, even though it's gotten pretty pricey for food that is decent, but not exceptional. The other night I picked up a large order for 5 people (over $120 worth of food). One of the dishes, something we've ordered before, was just plain bad--dry, tasteless, and the person who ordered it wouldn't eat it. It was too late to take it back. I hoped someone would eat it the next day. But when I found it in the fridge 2 days later, I thought that even though I hated the idea, I should call the restaurant, hoping they would replace it or give me a credit toward a future order. But the owner refused do anything about it because I didn't let them know about it RIGHT AWAY. I was shocked. I even offered to bring it by right then so she could see for herself. But she wouldn't budge--she just repeated herself! I'd always thought the owner was nice, but this woman is not nice, and clearly doesn't care much about good customer service either.
