OK. Back again as I said, I am very fond of this establishment. Tonight I thought I would try something different so I had the pasta Fagiole . As an 100% Italian, whose grandparents were born in Italy, I am pretty critical on this dish. I will say this; all restaurants these days portray this as a soup. It really isn't. It's more of a thick stew. However, I'm trying to get used to this concept. Locale does the new version of this as good as you could possibly do it. The flavor is actually authentic to the way my grandmother used to make it. It's just thinner. I'm sure a lot of you have never had this any other way, so it won't be a big deal. That being said I 100% recommend it. As referenced in my early review, I had Nonna's meatball as well. This is a 100% authentic delicious Italian meatball. My opinion is unfettered. This is a fantastic Italian restaurant and you guys should all check it out. read more

I haven't been to Locale in years, but I randomly started craving their penne à la vodka--one of those dishes I remembered being that good. I went this past Saturday night with a friend and was pleasantly surprised to see they now have something called The Godfather--basically chicken vodka. I swapped the linguine for penne and WOW. It was just as amazing as I remembered--creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My friend ordered the pesto gnocchi with grilled chicken, and we ended up splitting both dishes. Even though I'm not a mushroom person (they're in the pesto), I still really enjoyed it and just ate around them. The gnocchi was pillowy and delicious. Only downside- I tried the Italian Mule and wasn't a fan. It has peroni, limoncello, and a few other ingredients, and it just didn't come together for me. Kind of reminded me of what I imagine a Long Island iced tea might taste like--just a bit too much going on. But hey, you win some, you lose some. Overall, the food quality is still just as solid as the day Locale opened, and I'll definitely be back--bringing my boyfriend next time! read more

They make a nice espresso martini! Love their penne ala vodka - soooo good. Their caccio y Pepe pasta was very creamy and tasty too. Service is nothing to write home about when I've been. Nothing above and beyond, very basic. It's a nice vibe inside but does get loud. I wish they had better bread or garlic knots. The bread always seems raw and cold. I've dined in twice and ordered probably twice as many times and the only thing I've ever ordered was the Grubfather and OMG, so freaking good. It's so flavorful and the cheese????? *chefs kiss* Both times I've dined in were Saturdays last 5 and I've never had to wait for a table, actually surprised with how empty it's been. Our group headed over to this venue for a light nosh and some adult beverages after our arts and crafts down the road. Our server Shaquille was adorable, and after breaking his chops at the initiation of our visit, he turned out to be very knowledgeable about the menu, help to stop our tables from wiggling and was very knowledgeable With his wines and recommendations. This evening, Friday night also posted live entertainment, and I don't recall the artist's name who provided her beautiful voice and guitar playing while we sat and noshed. Awesome, NYC loft vibes. I came here with my family New Years Eve for dinner. Our server was Emily, and she was great. Very friendly, good recommendations and good service. The food here is amazing!!! My favorite appetizer is the burrata, and I had the Gorgonzola cheese pasta (I forget the official name of the plate.) But it was great. It definitely was very busy in the restaurant for the holidays, but it didn't feel overly crowded or stuffy. Candles on every table with dimmed lights. I attended an event Friday night and this place blew me away on so many levels. The food was amazing, but the service was even better. Between Kaitlyn giving me a sample of one of the wines because I told her I was picky about wine and Zack accommodating an absolutely ridiculous request, they were all just amazing people. I'm autistic and I make some ridiculous requests sometimes, but Zack didn't even bat an eye. I have pet rats and I saw that broccoli rabe was on the menu as a side, so I asked if I could take home like a single piece and he didn't even blink, he just said to remind him before I left. The menu has lots of choices and the wine list is small but has a good selection of reasonably priced wines. The chef is amazing. Willing to do things not on the menu, I asked for calamari with arrabiata sauce and he killed it! So good that I asked him to make one of his dishes with that sauce instead of a garlic broth!! And he did that TOO!! Not usual for a chef to change things up on a weekend night. My wife's chicken francese was superb! There deserts are not homemade, but the tiramisu was delicious. Patchogue was super BUSY on St. Patrick's Day so we were happy to have a reservation for lunch after the fun run and parade wrapped up. Enjoyed the appetizers and variety of pizzas we had, the spartichoke and quatro formaggi were the table faves. Drinks were all great too, especially loved the peppermint mocha espresso martini. We had a birthday at the table and appreciated the acknowledgement as well. Only area for improvement would be getting the water out quicker & keeping it replenished. Popped in on a Friday night without a reservation, which was fine because there were a number of open tables. Staff in general was scarce and so the majority of those tables were dirty and our wait crept up from the estimated 5 minutes to 20 while we watched busses pass each table and pick up a glass here, a dish there. There were two hostesses working but they kept disappearing behind a divider to whisper to each other, creating a bit of a line at the front door. The entire scene looked like a group of kids trying to run the house when Mom and Dad are away. A capable adult human to interact with customers upon entry would've really helped. When we finally did sit down, the hostess told us that all of the silverware was being washed so we wouldn't have any at the table for the time being - weird for sure, but really not a big deal and definitely not a reason to create such an awkward situation at the hostess stand. Had the service once we were seated been redeeming this review probably would be a bit better but unfortunately it wasn't. We sat for a good ten minutes before anyone arrived with even a glass of water, and when we asked a waitress who came to greet a couple next to us if we could place a drink order, she told us she already had x amount of tables and she'd find someone else. The place looks great inside, it's nicely decorated and the separate dining room away from the bar provides a slightly less noisy ambiance for a seated meal. The entire time we dined we thought it was karaoke night in the bar area but I'm not sure if that's on the sound system or the musicians. Onto the food: once we got our order in and the struggling pace picked up a bit but for two people who were now thirsty, hungry and a little annoyed, it really wasn't worth the aggravation. Bread wasn't only not warm or fresh, it was ice cold like it came from a fridge. Caprese was the same, as if it were pre-assembled and refrigerated. Four cheese pizzette didn't need the extra dousing of olive oil on top but it really was fine in terms of taste. There wasn't a server to be found after our food arrived, so the possibility of a second cocktail or a dessert wasn't even considered. Table was already set with a candle, bread and waters poured before we sat down, that was a first! We made a reservation through open table, so maybe that's why. We arrived 15 minutes early and they were able to seat us right away. Service was great! Food was excellent, i was able to modify my entree, which was called grubfather, a chicken cutlet on top of linguine in a vodka sauce. It was so delicious! After reading some reviews we decided to try somewhere new for dinner with our group of 8. We were very happy with the experience. Inside was much bigger than expected. They played upbeat music and decorated everything very nice. They have a bunch of appetizers to pick from that sounded good. We tried the caprese, antipasto and calamari. The calamari was everyone's favorite. It came with two different sauces. I felt it didn't even need it. Nice big pieces and it wasn't chewy at all. They did forget the balsamic on the mozzarella and tomato but it was still fresh and good. Some drinks that were worth mentioning were the Italian sour and biscotti. I had a glass of Pinot noir which was excellent. Our waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. For our entrees we ordered a few pizzettes , gnocchi , chicken brushetta , rigatoni alla vodka. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Date night brought my boyfriend and I here. After seeing numerous posts on Instagram I had it in my radar and it's been a while since we've had Italian. We were given bread to start but no butter or anything...just bread. We asked our waitress for some oil and she brought some out to us within seconds. For an appetizer we shared calamari. It was yummy with a very light fry and it wasn't greasy at all. It came with a marinara sauce and another sauce. I'm not sure what the other sauce was but it was yummy and paired well with the calamari. For my entree I had The Grubfather. It was pasta with vodka sauce with a chicken cutlet and topped with melted mozzarella. It was supposed to be served with linguini, but I subbed penne instead. It was delicious! The best vodka sauce I've had in a long time. And the chicken cutlet also had great flavor. My boyfriend had Veal Saltimbocca. It had scallopini veal, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sage in a madeira wine sauce and it was served with mashed potatoes. He enjoyed it. Our server, Emily, was great! My friend and I just tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. The menu looked amazing online. The salad was passable and the muscles were delicious although they lacked the sufficient amount of sauce. The carbonara was the best part of our meal. It was good. The drinks were spot on. The service: no one asked us if we wanted salt or pepper, no one checked our drinks, silverware taken away, none replaced, not enough plates provided for splitting a dish. We had to ask. To start, we all split the calamari, baked clams, and eggplant rollatini. These appetizers were so delicious, I'd come back just to order them again. For the entrees, we split the gnocchi pesto and linguine carbonara. They were both good dishes, but the sauces were so heavy that we ended up having a ton of pasta left over. If you're looking to spend a crap ton of money, you're at the right place. Where do I begin? Why is this place super expensive for food that doesn't taste good?? The food had ZERO flavor. The calamari was the worst I've ever had, the chicken parm was just the same. Shockingly my chicken with capers was OK, but for almost a $30 meal - I wouldn't ever return. The atmosphere was nice, it had a more boujee feel to it compared to the rest of Patchogue. Also, if you're not strong or elderly, I don't recommend going to the bathroom down the hall and to the left. I had to run and charge at the door to get it closed. **Bar pizza review** Came Sunday evening and it was pretty empty. My fiancée and I took two seats at the bar and ordered two dark and stormy drinks they were delicious. Bartender was super nice!! We weren't too hungry as we made stops at other restaurants nearby so we just got their diavola pizza. I love any pizza place with brick oven which they have here. The ambiance when you walk in - adorable. It is all decorated with snowflakes and hearts for the season, such a cozy vibe. The service - wonderful. Our server Shakil (hope I spelled that right) pointed us in the right direction with food and was super attentive. Saving the best for last - the food was INCREDIBLE. My boyfriend and I shared the grubhub, which is linguini a la vodka with a chicken cutlet. The sauce was perfection especially with the melted mozzarella, and the chicken cutlet was perfectly crisp on the outside and so juicy on the inside. Mouth watering to think about. Locale has been such a great addition to Patchogue Village. Every time I've eaten there, it has been a really wonderful experience. My last time dining at Locale was for my birthday. As I was visiting from out of town and was trying to see as many people as possible, I had a pretty large party. Locale accepted reservations and sat us in the back, away from the hustle and bustle of the main restaurant on a Friday night, which was nice. Our server was kind, attentive, and really quick when considering how many entrees and orders needed to be brought out! This really shows that Locale is a restaurant that can suit your needs not only for a small intimate dinner out, but also a large party. Shakeel has been our server twice, with consistently professional, friendly, and knowledgeable service. Their pizzettes are the perfect starter. More than enough to share and all that brick oven flavor! We can't get enough of the chicken parm! Big servings, delicious red sauce, and the pasta is cooked perfectly! We, a group of women who often go to Locale for its good food, were shocked today when we realized how they ripped us off a few nights ago. it seems that they are one of the restaurants that automatically add a 20% tip to bills for groups of 6 or more. We are usually 5 but were 7 people on this visit. As we always give a 20% tip, our waitress wound up with 40% ($150) but never said a word. We remained in the restaurant for at least 10 minutes after we paid, so there was ample time to inform us of the error. I feel that it was obvious that we did not know about the automatic surcharge and that someone should have told us. We called today to say we felt that there was an error, and were told that it is "written on the menu". So much for customer relations! read more
