I can definitely say the food lacks luster. If you desire bland, this is the place for you! It stays packed...peep the crowd. I've ordered from here several times trying a number of their offerings, with less than satisfactory outcomes. Today (14Aug2024) I tried the chicken salad sandwich, with their house made chips and pasta salad. The bread was supposed to be a croissant, but definitely not of the flaky, soft and buttery consistency. Chicken salad was dry and rather tasteless for all of the ingredients it was said to include. No offering of tomatoes, lettuce or other items that might spice it up. The chips were stale. The rice salad...no words. My daughter picked up this order and brought it to me fairly quickly. That said, seems the turnaround is fast. I skipped the dessert this time, as the chocolate lava cake when I ordered it last month. Well, I have given Local Table Cypress several tries. I'm done. A local favorite! I eat here a couple times a month and love to try everything on the menu. So far, everything has been super flavorful, cooked well, and drinks have been perfection. This last time, Maria V was our server and she went above and beyond. We really wanted an item that was recently pulled off the menu and she made it happen! this place is amazing and i totally recommend it. i come here often because their food and atmosphere is really nice! However, i called on the afternoon of july 4th to make a reservation on the 27th. The host that they transferred me to sounded clueless as I told him I wanted to make a reservation. I knew something was wrong when he asked for my number, but I didn't even get a confirmation text. Called again around an hour later to see if he actually made a reservation and he sounded just as clueless as before. He put me on hold, and then the phone hung up. Annoyed at the unprofessionalism, I called the very next day (july 5th in the afternoon) to confirm if I i had a reservation or not, the hostess this time sounded professional, and I was right. The host I talked to on the 4th did NOT book a reservation. But the hostess I talked to on the 5th actually made me one, so props to her. Another review I saw complained about the same thing (probably the same host). So until they re-train/fire that first host, BE CAREFUL when making a reservation here!! read more

Had the potato soup very good after they heated it and served it hot. Had the cyros, hummus not good, pita, lamb/beef, then sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, some lettuce. Did not eat anything but the meat. French fries under cooked, did not eat those. The table next to us had the crab cakes and said they were mostly filler and little crab meet. I picked up my first online to go meal from Local Table in Cypress, TX. It's in the CVS shopping strip across from CyRanch High School. Patio seating is available. There was a 30 minute prep time window, yet we picked up our order of 1 chicken wrap, 2 steak wraps, and spinach and artichoke dip 15 minutes early. All entrees included a wrap, iceberg lettuce wedge with diced tomatoes and two jalapeño ranch condiment containers. My family enjoyed every minute of our meal. I added kosher salt to the spinach dip for my palate. I will definitely return. read more

Recently had our first visit here, and this joint is a keeper! Sat out on the porch on a nice evening, and while the setting was enjoyable, the food was the star. My Beef Tenderloin Steak on Ciabatta sandwich (I should say sandwiches -- my meal included 2, which were much bigger than slider size) was fantastic -- solid ciabatta, savory tenderloin, and grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms. A very rich, satisfying sandwich (and took the 2nd one home). Fries were slightly on the meh side (maybe a little old), but well-seasoned and decent (I somehow managed to eat them all). My better half raved about the poke bowl and its varied ingredients -- I'm definitely going to try that one some day. The Brussels sprouts salad also got high marks at our table. Menu overall has a wide variety of options for all sorts of eaters. Yes, prices are a little higher than your usual eateries, but the value is there. Service was very good as well. Where to begin? Made a reservation (now called priority seating) for Mother's Day. They sent a text saying they couldn't guarantee the time because of volume. It's Mother's Day, so that is fair. On Mother's Day, we get there. Whole party. There 10 min in advance. 1:50 for 2:00 reservation. Host trio tell us it will be 20-25 min. Great. There is not a place to sit and wait inside (and it was drizzling outside). No biggie, they had warned us about the delay. Here is where it gets ugly. After watching party after party get seated, I walk up and ask VERY politely if they have an ETA. Response "yea Buddy, don't know. There is a 7 topper ahead of you" Me: "sure, but I noticed you have been seating a lot of people, and now with 2 large groups recently seated, you think it might be a bit of a wait? I have two older parents, one standing in a walker" Host trio (no BS) " yea i dunno, whatever" So, trying to be nice again. "Do you guys push some tables together or do we have to wait for a large party to leave?" Male host "look, whatever opens, I dunno" The utter I don't give a **** attitude was mind boggling. Atleast the male host was making an honest effort to be a complete dick. The sidekick other hosts couldn't even be bothered. Loaded up the SUV and we headed to Black Walnut at Vintage Park. That place is amazing. Just polite and courteous. One manager even said "Happy Mother's Day to the three moms present". Made their day. The flower given at the door was icing. I know restaurants have it hard. I get it. But here is a tip. Be respectful and courteous. I get it that Local Table is the new cool kid in cypress. Maybe they don't need our business. But Atleast be semi respectful, especially to older people. My father proudly served in the military so the host trio wouldn't have too. It would have been easy to see the retired vet in a Walker and perhaps show some empathy instead of the DGAF attitude. Won't be back. I really hope others have a better experience. Review Addendum: I received a call from Michael. He was the manager at Local Table today. Michael explained their situation today, in which they were overwhelmed by the inclement weather and the Mother's day weekend rush, and some training to address and improve the Host trio. He was concerned about our negative experience. I appreciated his call. More so, because he seemed sincere and genuine. I changed the review from 1 to 4 stars because I respect his efforts, ability to communicate his concerns and genuinely want an opportunity to make the establishment succeed. We have all been in precarious situations and I feel everyone deserves an opportunity to address their issues and succeed. Its what makes us human. Mid at best. The server was nice but wasn't very together- we didn't have napkins, utensils, and had to keep asking for items throughout the meal. The server got the cook on my husband's eggs incorrect and brought me the wrong dish all together. The food was okay but nothing was really craveable where I'd want to come back. We love this place! The manager Mike is so attentive and detail oriented and makes all of his guests feel so welcome. I think almost every time we visit which is several times a week. Mike has come to our table and made sure everything was up to his standards. The staff is really accommodating they are dressed so sharp and they really know their products. Let's talk about the food: we are huge fans of the hummus plate, the brussels sprouts, the pizzas and the burgers and of course the bar menu is extraordinary. I added "grilled" shrimp to one of the dishes and there wasn't so much as a speck of char from being grilled. Came here with a friend for brunch, looking forward to trying a new brunch spot outside the Loop. I ordered the Southern Crispy Chicken & Eggs off the *brunch* menu since 1) I was handed the brunch menu and 2) it was 12pm. The waiter took my order and came back a couple minutes later to confirm my order, making sure he had gotten it down correctly. When my food came out, it turned out to be the dinner equivalent of what I ordered, the Southern Chicken Fried Chicken. I told the food runner who brought us our food that it didn't look right, as I had ordered the brunch dish which comes with eggs and potatoes, not the dinner portion I received with green beans and garlic bread. For some reason, she seemed to think that I ordered the dinner portion...interesting, because that she wasn't the one taking our order and we didn't even have a dinner menu to order off of. Our waiter then came to follow up and I asked him the same thing, only to get the same response. He then finally seemed to understand the mix-up and asked if he needed to switch it back out for the brunch portion. In the interest of time so that my friend wouldn't have to eat solo for another 15 minutes, I was willing to accept the loss and eat the dinner portion with the assumption that the dish, or at least the price difference, would be comped. Well I thought wrong. Our bill came out and I was still charged for the (pricier) dinner portion of that dish. I asked the waiter why I was charged for the dinner portion when I had specifically ordered the brunch portion. He had the audacity to argue back, saying that they brought out the dinner portion, so that's why it was rung up like that on the check (eyeroll). I told him that I thought it reasonable that I just be charged for my original order and he seemed to be confused as to why. He finally came back with a revised check, deducting the price difference between the two. I wasn't expecting a free meal, but at least be shown some sense of apology for the mishap. Nope. Giving a star for decent tasting food and mimosas, but the staff here is clearly insufficiently trained and doesn't know how to address snafus on food orders. read more

I have lived in this area for almost 6 years and I just started coming here and I absolutely love it! The shrimp tacos are pretty much the only thing I get every time I come because they are so freakin good. The Texas Tornado drink is also amazing. The pepper-infused vodka with the fresh, cool cucumber is such an amazing mixture of goodness. I love the location, the service is always super fast and the staff is very friendly. The vibe is pretty cool too, you have the choice to enjoy indoor/outdoor and they also have an outdoor bar that connects to the inside bar that is pretty cool. This place deserves a 5 star! Local table has been on my go to list since it first opened. I finally decided to give it a try this weekend and we ended up coming twice on Sunday and once Friday night. I used the reservation option on Yelp and was seated right away each time. They have enforced a social distancing rule per the state and every other table was unused for social distancing. They also have a cool concept of scanning a code and the menu pop up on your phone. Another feature to ease people's mind during this pandemic. Being a parent to a very picky eater I was glad Local table had options for my two toddlers. We ordered pizza, penne pasta marinara with meatballs, mini chocolate chip waffles and the kids loved them all! My child even ate the whole bowl of pasta and that is not usual. If you're a parent to two little ones the kids pasta plate is enough to be shareable. The tuna poke bowl was surprisingly delicious. The Brussels sprouts and the sauce took it up a notch. The spicy beef tenderloin tacos was a risk that I am so glad I took since I don't tend to deviate from my usual taste buds when it comes to tacos. I loved the hint of spice and the slaw. My boyfriend is a burger guy and he also enjoyed everything I choose to eat. He enjoyed his burgers so much we had to come twice yesterday to try a new burger. We also received a dessert of our choice for being first timers and we enjoyed every single bit of it! Every time we left this place we were satisfied, it hit the spot for all of us! We began the experience with Maria, a talented server who helped us navigate the menu and after ordering our favourite appetisers - baked goat cheese and then Brussels sprouts - had a Rústica pizza (sausage, sauce, peppers, and no mushrooms by my own request) and a Philly cheesesteak like sandwich with French fries. We were in Cypress area for a friend's wedding. Found this spot on Yelp and so glad we stopped! Great food and excellent service from Deena. Went back a second night because more yummy things to try on menu. Luz was also excellent server and Michael, the manager, chatted with us. We grow produce in Iowa so liked their local sourcing of fresh food. Local's Kabob plate, gyro plate, lemon pasta, Mediterranean bowl all very good and the Brussels sprouts some of the best I have ever had! Nice selection of craft brews and whiskeys also.
