Look, I wanted to really like this company. It's family-owned. I was referred to them by a friend who actually has a different exterminator assigned to him based on the area he lives. So perhaps his experience which has been positive, is correlated with the fact his exterminator was more experienced. The exterminator Ian was always very pleasant and came back multiple times fairly quickly for our ant problem. But when our ant problem persisted and it appeared increasingly obvious that he did not seem to be experienced enough to provide adequate solutions, we had to move on. Our ant problem has moved throughout our new home. And we understand that ant colonies under new homes in this area are quite common. But we had a number of concerns with the steps taken by Ian to control our ant problem. Firstly was that Ian continued to spray throughout the property for several treatments without at all considering baits initially. And what resulted is the ants being pushed to other parts of the home without going after the main source. The strategy appeared flawed to us. After several spraying attempts, I finally told him that we needed to try another method. After doing my own research, I explained that we needed to try baiting the ants. He said that a trail needed to be present before we could bait them. I said I understand that but at least leave us a few baits to place ourselves when we encounter them. Obviously, we are not going to wait 24-48 hours for you to come back and place the baits yourself when they are in a bathroom or closet all over the place. So he left a couple of baits at my suggestion. We saw ants in another part of the house and he came back again. And this is where we decided that we needed to move on: he put down a foam aerosol product and when I asked what the product did he provided an explanation that was contrary to what I found when I researched the same product. It was essentially a contact killer for ants that was quite frankly no more effective than spraying with the large can. This strategy was not going to get to the queen ant(s) which is what we needed to eliminate this problem. Nonetheless, our ant problem persisted and we realized we needed a more experienced person to tackle this. Again, this company is polite and does follow up with standard emails and text messages after treatments which is nice. But what good is a follow up that results in repeated return visits that do not provide the appropriate treatments and strategy to solve the problem? read more

Brent is the BEST at what he does! He's very proactive when it comes to searching for bug problems-both inside and outside the home. He really goes out of his way to explain what he's doing and what types of procedures he's using to resolve any bug problems. I love that I get an e-mail reminder before his next visit, and a follow-up e-mail checking in to see if the problem was solved. Also, since Brent's local, you can rely on him to get the job done almost immediately. Both times I called him with problems he was able to come out within hours! Because Brent is a father of small children, I feel like he can relate to my needs as a parent of toddlers. He takes special care in looking in and around the children's outside toys and play areas searching for any signs of pesky critters. He's irradicated my home of ants, brown & black widows, and flying African spiders...all while teaching me and my kids a few things about each insect! Let me say that Brent is awesome! He knows Temecula and knows his bugs! I am new to the area and apparently I live on the epicenter of all ant and black widow activity in Temecula. I tried for weeks to get them in control - but to no avail. I needed someone and fast - luckily I saved that colorful post card flyer that was left in my mailbox! I called Brent, emailed him, and then I left a note for him on his website (yeah it was that bad...) Brent responded almost immediately and was out the next day. He quickly explained the issues, how to keep things under control, and the importance of not squashing the ants while they dined on the traps! (This is an important point! Spiders, ants, and bugs were invading our house when we first moved in. In fact, one night while we were sleeping, I kept feeling something going across my face, and I would wake up with little bites all over. So after finding several black widows, and then my cat ate one we called the our Local Bug Guy. He scheduled us immediately, and came and sprayed the entire outside of the house, the garage, and got the cob webs and any critters he happened upon. After that, we saw a few more, and as he said, it got a little worse because the house was left empty for so long. So he came back out and treated again, and treated a couple different areas and gave us some recommendations to do in the house. Since then, we have had very few spiders in the house and it has been 3 years. We have had no problems with ants or spiders because of the continued treatments by the bug guy. We've had Local Bug since we moved into our house about 4 years ago. They are awesome at a lot of things, not only doing pest control but also with communication. Anytime I email about a problem, they respond incredibly promptly and are always sympathetic and helpful...usually coming to the rescue same day if that's what I want.
