The lobster rolls photo on the side of where you order is NOT what you get. The bun is basic and flavourless and meat is very low quality. Instead of spending the money on this overprice scam of a "lobster roll" drive the extra couple hours and go get one from literally anywhere in key west. DJs is the best and most meat for your money. If I could give 0 stars I would. Quite literally the worst lobster roll I've ever had. read more

Great lobster roll. Easy peasy atmosphere and service xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx

We paid $22 for a "lobster roll". It was on a hot dog bun with just lettuce and not even sure it was lobster!

Don't get duped in thinking a lobster roll here is anything special. There's really a missed opportunity here because there's a huge lobster statue out front & is a tourist attraction. read more

First the service was top notch! Our waitress was overly kind and very knowledgeable. She made you feel very welcome. The ambiance was what you would expect for nice outdoor seating in the area. As for the food, the wife and I both had the lobster rolls. She with butter and me the traditional mayo version. They had good flavor but THB (& maybe not so fair) we just came from the keys and had arguably the best lobster rolls we ever tried. So the comparison was greatly lopsided. The lobster rolls here were only a few dollars more but only about half the lobster inside. The flavor is very good as well. read more

The reviews for this place were really good, so I was looking forward to getting a lobster roll or a similar filling sandwich at the Lobster Shack. When we arrived, we saw this little stand with a "Cafe sign" on the outside. We were not sure if this was the Lobster Shack or not...there was no one inside, so we walked around and the handwritten menu on the side of the stand was really basic and small...but then I saw on the counter the printed menu that I had seen on the Yelp website and I knew this was in fact the Lobster Shack. As I read the menu, I turned around to a lady who was sitting by one of the picnic tables and I asked her if there was anyone working here...she said... I am. So after seeing us walking around and looking around for a while, she did not say anything until I asked. Based on that customer service faux pas and the look of the place, we decided just to share some fritters and then get lunch somewhere else. The fritters were good. read more

Incredible, the service and food is fantastic. We had a Cuban sandwich the only con I'd say is I want more! More filling! But the SAUCES, they are home made and incredible! I am so happy to stop here read more

So we decided to stop by because the reviews were RAVING about both the coffee and the lobster roll , sadly neither one delivers. The lobster roll for 21$ is very skim , overloaded with lettuce and barely had flavor . The chicken sandwich was very thin and dry . The worst part is , we ordered coffee and was served the coffee in red Dixie cups ... umm we left totally confused. read more

At first we thought we went to the wrong place because there's so much shopping but then we saw some signs and it was near the side of the shops. We ordered the lobster roll and it came with a side of pasta salad or bag of chips. We chose the pasta salad. The roll was quite expensive at $20 before tax and the roll was smaller than I expected. However it was fresh and delicious! I wouldn't call this a meal for me. More like an afternoon snack while shopping! I wouldn't recommend you come here if this is all you're wanting! But it is by some fun places to shop around, so I'd you need a quick snack, come here!! read more

Stopped in based on raves for lobster rolls. We ordered two. They were tiny in size. Not seasoned at all but they give you dips of tartar sauce, Ketchup, Mustard etc. Way overpriced for what you get. Husband ordered shrimp roll. Also a bit dry but it was huge. Shrimp had little bit more seasoning. Don't spend $21.99 on lobster roll, not worth it. read more

Had great lunch while driving from Key West to Miami! It's really cute place with few outdoor seating spots and cool souvenir/shopping area. The portion size is little small for the price, but the lobster tasted fresh and delicious. Conch fritter was also very good. Glad we got to stop at Lobster shack for yummy lunch! read more

Really wonderful service from Katie! The lobster roll was small but sweet and fresh with not too much mayo. The conch fritters were pretty unique but salty. The cubano was standard and pretty decent. The infamous pasta salad was also quite nice and vinegary with orange, olive, and veggies. Would recommend for a nice lunch! Overall the area is also artsy and fun with different stores and stands read more

Really tasty lobster roll with even better pasta salad! Nice small meal to have before you check out the art shops at Rain Barrel. The owner is so lovely! She gave us an extra pasta salad because she noticed we were sharing. She also warned us of "hell week," which is from Christmas to New Years (we are flying home on Christmas day, so we learned we will be avoiding this). It's always so helpful to get advice from the locals. You will need to eat outside on picnic tables so be aware of that in case it is raining (there are some umbrellas). There is also a sweet grey cat that roams around who let me get a few pets in! read more

I want to give it 5 stars.. it's more of a 4. We stopped in due to all the hype on yelp as well as it looked like a cool spot. It is part of a bunch of other shops and a drink spot. Pretty neat. There is a cute sitting area where you can enjoy your meal. Definitely looks like a beautiful backyard shack. The lobster roll- First impression was that it was tiny. It came out on the plate and I couldn't believe that was $17. Next impression, VERY fresh lobster. The lobster itself was absolutely delicious as well as the bread. The only thing was it could probably use some more sauce. The lobster was dry and not how typical lobster rolls are. With that being said.. I enjoyed being able to taste the lobster purely. I also added a dash of hot sauce to a few bites and WOW that made it so much better. Definitely a good stop regardless. I would still recommend it highly. read more

The owner is so nice and helpful, and great food. Such a cool spot to stop off on your way into Islamorada!

No frills & no gimmicks, just good food. Lobster roll was excellent. Outdoor courtyard area is beautiful. Note: I would not call this a Maine-style lobster roll. In Maine, I expect a split top roll with melted butter and a lemon wedge on the side to drizzle. Here, this lobster roll was served with lettuce & was served wrap style in aluminum foil. Delicious, Florida-style lobster roll. read more

Passing by and stopped for a bite to eat. Not disappointed! Lobster roll, Cuban coffee and key lime pie were off the charts good! Friendly service to boot. Place is now a book mark in my collection and will definitely stop again when passing through. Small but quaint little DOG FRIENDLY place . Look for the GIANT LOBSTER and boom your there. Small little key west style stores surrounding the little shack. Staff was helpful and kind of grumpy at first but with some finesse we calmed her down. Food was really tasty. Lobster rolls are served on hotdog style bun not in a wrap. Really tasty lobster mayo to lobster was perfect. Not sure it was worth the 15 dollar price tag. But glad we tried this place out. Roll came with either chips or pasta salad. Can't loose either way. Great stop while in the Florida keys. Came here to finally check it out. I've been coming to the keys for years and wondered about the huge lobster. Apparently her name is Betsy and has been attracting people for years. We took the traditional photo and went on in. Inside they have a small shop with home made items. Everything island life. People are friendly and say hello. They have a cafe on the side that serve refreshments and of course lobster rolls! Can't forget those. Nice stop is you are on the way up or down the keys. Cute place to get some touristy photos in. read more

I have driven past this shop for years it has a giant lobster outside and promoting a "village of artists" which I chalked it up to being a tourist trap. When visiting islamorada I was looking for a lunch spot and the Lobster Shack popped up with raving reviews. I decided to give it a try. It's a tiny cafe and you order at the window. The menu is small maybe 6/5 items. I ordered the lobster roll with a side of homemade pasta salad (the other option was chips). The seating is outside about 4 tables or so. Great when the temp isn't super hot. The food was great. Very simply done just pure lobster on a warm roll. There is no mayo or sauce on it but they happily provided mayo and hot sauce you just need to ask. The pasta salad was amazing. Not creamy or mayoy at more like a vinegar base. It was soooo good. My new spot in islamorada for a simply amazing lobster roll. read more

Cool shack in the village that blend in the art stores that surrounding the compound. This is the only cafe in this village and they have lobster rolls. I look up the Yelp rating and they have good reviews. It is good to have mid morning snack. The seats and table is under the trees which provide good shade. It was very good day to enjoy in the open air restaurant like during November. The lobster is fresh from the sea. However, it is not from Florida spiny lobster. It is Maine lobster. The preparation is is good with light mayo. The bread is well heated. This dish accompanying with one side which I choose the pasta salad. The total cost including tax is $15 is not bad compared to many place only given lobster roll without any side. Food is good. Not required much service and the wait time is ok. You go to the art stores while you are waiting. read more

The lobster roll was really good and the lobster itself was really fresh and sweet! Not a big fan of pasta salad but theirs was on point! Key lime pie has an excellent creamy, sweet tartness to it, that makes it absolutely awesome! They are a bit pricey but make up for it in flavor and service! What makes this place stand apart from other food places is their customer service! They were very engaging and friendly. For such a big hype on Yelp I was so disappointed. I give it 2 stars for the cool atmosphere but that's it. I got a Gatorade from the cooler, opened it and drank it. I then noticed there was bird poop all on the side so I asked to get a new one and the lady gave me an attitude saying it was on the outside. When paying with my credit card on her square trade, she said "make sure to leave a tip at the top." I was thrown off because I have never had someone tell me to MAKE SURE to leave a tip. I did leave a tip because I'm a nice person but I later regretted it. She called out orders out and had us come up to the window to get it. Why did I leave a tip? For you to do your job? As for the food, not worth it at all. I have no idea why so many people think the lobster roll is amazing. All it was was plain lobster and lettuce on bread. The bread was actually the best part of the entire meal. I also got the conch fritters, also nothing special what so ever. And the dipping sauce was honey mustard. What? Lol I also asked for some lemon thinking to spice up my lobster roll and give it some flavor and of course she gives an attitude about that and goes to the back and squeezes some lime juice out of a store bought bottle. I was going to buy an entire key lime pie ($20) but I'm pretty sure they use the store bought lime juice opposed to fresh squeezed lines. read more

This was such a fantastic experience! The shack was not difficult to miss, with the giant lobster statue. There were plastic, pink, lawn flamingos and bright colors, impeccably wrapped together to create a cozy tropical shack scene. The food was mouth-wateringly good. This place is an absolute gem! The atmosphere/decor is super neat and you feel like you have stepped into a different world. The food is beyond amazing and priced right, too. The lobster roll on the perfectly warmed bread was light and so tasty with the right about of lobster. The potato salad was amazing too! The service was outstanding-the owner was so sweet and checked on us multiple times. We went on a rainy day and it was such a great experience. Don't forget to check out all the cool shops next door. Drove from Miami just to try these lobster rolls, would do it again in a heartbeat! I've seen some yelpers complaining about the lobster not being mixed with any mayo dressing and if you ask me, that was my favorite part!
