We decided to go out to supper tonight and having a yen for some good fish, we decided to go to the Lobster Connection. The wait was long, and the fish was totally tasteless. They are turning out quanity, not quality. So for 38.00 , we will not be going back. The fish was very over cooked. I understand that he is going to opening a restaurant across the street. So good! Prices were very reasonable for the lobster rolls. There was a bit of wait for our food to come out but when it did the fries were hot and crispy, the lobster fresh with the perfect balance of dressing and meat. If they switched to the traditional lobster roll bread, I would give this place 5 stars. Unfortunately to me there was just a tad too much bread to lobster. Sorry giving you a one star because it says open at 11 and while the man in back come to the front to greet us at 11:08 he was quick to say lunch doesn't open till 11:30 only the store is open at 11. When I said we were on way to airport and I wanted a lobster roll, he said sorry, turned around and walked away. At $17.99 for a lobster roll (fries and slaw) I would say really? You couldn't have thrown bread on grill, and thrown the meat into it? BTW at this price you are raping the tourists. Not sure how taste would have been but sorry next time visiting I won't come back. You could have smiled and somehow found a way to feed me something! BTW same price as a place in Ft Lauderdale (features all stuff from Boston) flies in fresh lobster daily, so really makes you question how you are taking advantage of tourists. Shame on you! Some of the best seafood that I've ever had in my life. Even the fried stuff is very fresh. The lobster roll is phenomenal and is a large amount of lobster for the price that they charge. The fried clams, scallops and haddock are all excellent. Would highly recommend this to anyone who likes seafood. read more

Fabulous seafood this far inland. The Clam Chowder should be award winning if it isn't already. Thick with red potatoes and tarragon, I believe. Delicious! Fried sea scallops were amazing. Fried haddock was excellent. We should have order a whole pint of the fish. 1/2 pint of the sea scallops was plenty. Lobster roll was perfect. Worth the price. Daughter had a cheese burger and gave it a 3.5 out of 5. French fries were very good, for French fries. Need fly strips, would help a lot inside and at seating. We live in the beautiful tourist mecca of the Lakes Region of NH where there is no shortage of restaurants overlooking the lakes, and yet we often choose to eat at The Lobster Connection which simply offers take-out and picnic tables. By far and above the best place to get seafood in the Lakes Region. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it's seafood so it's to be expected. Given the quality of the food, I think the prices are very fair. As for food, I've yet to try anything from this place that I haven't loved. I'm especially partial to their fried clams - they're absolutely delicious! I find their sides, especially the fries, to be quite good as well. The food was alright but it didn't blow our minds. We had two babies in our party and it was kind of frustrating that people were smoking cigarettes all around us. Note: We called first and found out we needed to bring our own high chairs. The trash needed to be emptied and it wasn't getting done. It stunk and had attracted all of these weird flies. An angry female customer emptied it for the staff. She got all sorts of trashjuice on her sunburnt arms and legs in the process of doing this. First of all I don't yelp much but I felt I had to add a comment on this place because I don't get all the possible reviews. $30 for a 2 lobster meal with soft shell lobsters. I opened them all first and put them in the butter and all the meat from 2 lobsters didn't even fill the small butter bowl. The "lobster bisque" was lobster flavored cream with not one bit of lobster. The "best lobster roll in New England" was just ok. Way to much bread and not enough Lobster. This has been my go to place for fried seafood in the Lakes Region for the past 10 years. It is consistently good. The prices are fair. It is primarily a take out place with some sheltered picnic tables. The lobster roll & clam rolls are great. You typically get a generous portion of clams & lobster. The French fries are excellent. Don't let the gruff looking intense guy behind the counter scare you away. He's actually quite personable if you talk to him. read more

Great food, fried seafood always cooked just right. The coleslaw is very good. It have one complaint, the tartar sauce is terrible, all mayo. I have yet to find a restaurant that has good tartar sauce. Just add more relish and a touch of Worcestershire sauce. read more

Great lobster roll with plenty of meat. This is the most reasonably priced seafood restaurant in the Lakes Region. A competitor in Gilford sells them at "market price" for $25.00 for one roll. We paid $36.00 for two meals including fries, cole slaw and soft drinks. We'll be back again, next time I'm buying a two pound lobster. read more

Expected a tourist trap. Pleasantly surprised on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Lot of people in and out the whole time. Didn't have to wait long for our small fried clam and fries side orders. Awesome, small, mild tasting clams with very light crispy breading. Grease was non existent, very clean (late on Sunday) even on the yummy fries! Portions and prices were very acceptable, especially considering the location and the cost of seafood. Clean and not fishy smelling. Very informal, no inside dining. We've been a couple of times. Went again last night and got 2 lobster rolls. Everything was excellent. This is a pretty bare-bones kind of place, no wait service, seating is outside on picnic tables, but the food was all really good. After reading some of the other reviews, I paid extra attention to the fried food (french fries), and they were perfect, crispy and hot, and not at all soggy or greasy. Don't know if there are different cooks or they've made changes, but really, everything we had was excellent. Lobster roll on a toasted bun, not too much mayo, just enough lettuce to give it a little crunch, served with coleslaw and fries. Love this place. read more

Last year I opened a new business. I travel within an hour of home making contact with small business owners. Whenever I am in a new town I get in touch with someone local and ask for their suggestion about a good place to eat. Two weeks ago, I got an endorsement from the mgr. of a retail store suggesting the Lobster Connection. I had the lobster roll which was not served in the usual hot dog bun. Instead it came on a kaiser roll stuffed with lobster. It was outstanding and came with a heaping portion of fries and cole slaw. I have been back six times in the last two weeks! Pretty good, but call ahead it does take a while. The plus - they have a dock and you can pull up in your boat! Pretty much the only place on Lake Winnisquam that you can do that! A nice treat in the summer time. Pretty expensive, but it is seafood, when is it not expensive! read more

Although not that far from the NE coast we have been looking a traditional Cape Cod or Maine style lobster shack in the Holderness-Laconia part of NH, well the Lobster Connection is what we were looking for! Beware though it is popular with the locals and boaters so you might have a 20-30 min wait for your food. No frills in this fresh lobster pound, take them home live, they will steam for you or sit down outside on picnic tables and dig into a twin lobster dinner with fresh cut fries and slaw for 27.99 unbelievable! We brought our own drinks and clothes we could squirt lobster juice on and dove right in. They have all kinds of fish you can buy by the pound and take out cooked or as dinners all reasonably priced, the fish dinners generally come out a little quicker if that makes a diff. If you just want the best lobsters away from the coast with no teenage wait staff nor snooty menu $$$$ Lobster Connection is your place now added to our routine twice a year! read more

If you are in the Tilton area this is the ONLY place to go for lobster they are then best bar none! They are outstanding there lobster rolls are huge and they do not skimp like EVERYWHERE else! They have fantastic fried clams and soups! My husband and I went there 5 times on you 8 day trip. I will go back everytime we are in the area and if your in Concord its worth the drive! We got your seafood yesterday and was not impressed. We got the 2 way scallops and clams and a fried clam by itself. The clams were way over cooked to the point that the batter fell off and the scallops were so drenched in oil that they looked wet. We ended up throwing it all away.
