So I've been to Catalina Island a few times and have never been inside until this visit. This place has just about everything sweet related. I was pleasantly surprised at the items that they sell. Ice cream, toffee, rice Krispy treats, etc. I really enjoyed the huge pretzel and chocolate rice Krispy treat so delicious. The frozen mocha coffee drink was good and gave me energy. The service was friendly and helpful which I will definitely return when I next visit Catalina Island.

Lloyd's of Avalon. Such a yummy store.

Who doesn't love a candy store? Almost everyone loves going into a candy store. Few steps even before we walked into Lloyd's of Avalon, the sweet aroma of taffy, chocolate and fruits embrace you as you walk into the store. Our Girl Scout troop enjoyed visiting this sweet and fun candy store. The sweet young ladies working by the chocolate station were also giving our free samples of chocolate and slices of caramel covered apples. Lloyd's of Avalon pretty much offer a variety and selection of the different types of candies, gum and chocolates (brand and manufacturer too). They even carry some of the 80s and 90s candies our circle of friends grew up with. We all had a very nostalgic moment. Lloyd's of Avalon is a one stop shop for sweet treats that provide great customer service as well as a trip down memory lane of how fun and priceless your childhood was.

100/10! Candy store, caramel apples, smoothies, and ice cream!! Better than scoops!!! Fast service!!! And more affordable ice cream than scoops! What are you waiting for? They accept Apple Pay, cash and credit.

You can smell the sugar blocks away. Candy Apple was delicious!

You can smell the sugar a block away. My wife and I were having a great day at Catalina and were walking around when we smelled the delicious sugary experience that is Lloyd's of Avalon. My wife and I decided to share a candy apple and it was very good. The cashier asked if we wanted it cut, which we did, and she was very friendly. Lots of options here but I had to get out before my doctor pinged me! :(

Peanut Caramel Apple and an Iced White Mocha, a most perfect refreshment!

I had done some research for the must dos and must tries on Catalina Island, and it seems that Lloyd's is a fan favorite. After perusing Avalon, making my souvenir purchases and sight seeing, I needed a refreshment and pronto. That is when I saw 2 ladies walking with 2 Lloyd's iced coffees and I knew I was headed in the right direction. Lloyd's is the ultimate confectionary shop. They have candy, fudge, ice cream, candy apples, and a variety of beverages. My selection was a peanut caramel apple and an iced white mocha ($16.94). They had super cool flavored candy apples but I'm not about that life lol. I selected my apple and she asked if I would like my apple sliced, "yes, please!". I then walked over to the pick up window for my drink and the barista asked me to try the drink on spot, and asked if I wanted any adjustments. My drink was absolutely perfect, I thanked her and gave her a thumbs up. The service at Lloyd's despite the line, was not only quick and efficient but they also take the time to be nice and provide a great experience. Yummy treats and great service? I can't wait to be back to try all their other goodies!

Candy galore

Cute candy store! We got three different kinds of gummies cause there was so much to choose from. I thought the gummies were a bit hard to chew but we still ate them. I loved all the decor they had. My pictures do not do the store justice, if you travel to Catalina Island, you must stop by this candy shop!

Death by chocolate

Icecream was so good I had to come two days in a row. I ordered the death my chocolate icecream and my boyfriend ordered the mango sorbet. Both were really good. On Thursday, we watched them making their own waffle cones fresh in-store, and you can definitely taste the difference. The cones are warm, crisp, and way better than your average shop-bought ones. The only downside is that they don't offer flavor samples, which made it a little tough to decide what to get especially with so many tempting options. Saw some complaints in the reviews about their customer service but I thought everyone here was super nice and helpful. Overall this place was a 5/5 and I will come back each time I am back in Catalina.

I've been here many times before but recently I've experienced the worst customer service & the words salt water taffy too. No stars if this is a possible choice! Very rude employees. When I inquired with the cashier what flavors were in the box, all she could say was the price & gave me that annoyed look. As I open up this box of salt water taffy, almost every taffy is not what I think it is and really poorly packaged! The worst Salt water taffy. I will never buy anything at this place.

I am so bad at taking pics lately when I go somewhere especially of the food when it's a food related review lol I went to Catalina island for Labor Day and it was a warm day so of course ice cream is something to the rescue Came across this place and it's fun inside for sure with candies and treats everywhere The ice cream I wish they provided samples because I don't like going into a place that offers unique or not the usual flavors and risk not liking something if I go all in on the flavor and end up not liking it I went with the churro flavor and told the lady if it was good she said yes and sure enough it was The place is definitely a little pricey but I suppose it has to be given all things are imported in

Double scoop, fresh waffle cone, cookies & cream and peanut butter cup

The Ice cream was so so creamy with two flavors that were the best combination in my opinion. Double scoop, fresh waffle cone, cookies & cream and peanut butter cup ice cream. On a nice sunny day, it doesn't get better than this.

Checked this place out because apparently Marilyn Monroe used to work here! This store is mainly known for salt water taffy (lots of flavors to choose from) but they also serve other desserts like ice cream and fudge. Ice cream was decent, nothing special. I prefer Sailors Delight Ice Cream Shop over this.

Candy apple a la mode cut into slices

Lloyd's is a Catalina institution. It's been at this location for 85+ years! The salt water taffy pulling machine still mesmerizes visitors, when it's pulling taffy of all different colors. The main attractions at Lloyd's are: the caramel apples (a la mode is the best), ice cream (Dreyer's flavors) and candy (taffy included). I didn't see the taffy machine running this summer when I kept walking past, but It probably was at other times. Kinda wish they updated the inside, either in looks or in products they sell.

ORIGINAL JACK'S COUNTRY KITCHEN @ CATALINA ISLAND…read more Parking is available right out front, especially if you have a golf cart, so it was super easy to find parking. My family and I came here on a Saturday afternoon after taking the ferry from Dana Point and we were seated pretty quickly. Unfortunately, we were seated right next to the bathroom, so there was constantly a line of people passing by our table the entire time we were eating. We ordered a couple of different items. I ended up getting their turkey bacon club sandwich with french fries, my mom got the tuna club sandwich, and my brother ordered one of their breakfast plates with waffles, eggs, and bacon. They do charge for water, but I think that's pretty common throughout Catalina Island since most places serve bottled water. The food came out within about 15-20 minutes and it was honestly pretty decent for what it was. You really can't mess up a turkey bacon sandwich, but the bread was crispy, buttery, and super good. I also loved the french fries they were super yummy and probably my favorite part of the meal. My mom's tuna sandwich was also really delicious, although both sandwiches leaned a little salty. I kind of wish they included a small side salad or lettuce with the meal, but overall everything was still really good. The service was pretty solid, especially considering how busy the restaurant was with people constantly coming in and out. The whole place has a very diner-style, old-fashioned vibe to it, which honestly fit the island atmosphere really well. Overall, I'd definitely come back here if I were visiting Catalina Island again. Solid food, quick service, convenient parking, and a classic diner feel. Definitely a 5/5 overall experience for me.

My wife and I were in Avalon on a port day from our cruise ship, and decided to get some ice cream…read morebefore heading back to our tender to take us back. My wife had noticed the Sailor's Delight shop earlier in the morning, so we decided to stop in. It was really, really good. My family lived in Wisconsin for more than 20 years, most of them in the Madison area. During that time we got to really love a local favorite ice cream brand: Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. It's definitely a premium brand and thought it was local to the Midwest only. Well...once we entered Sailor's Delight, signs proudly proclaimed that they served Chocolate Shoppe, shipped directly from the plant in Madison. This made my wife immediately look for her favorite flavor: Zanzibar. It's a chocolate ice cream, blending 3 types of cocoa, to produce a very rich but bingeable ice cream. One scoop was priced at $7.50 in a cup, with each additional scoop being $2.25. So I added one of my favorite flavors, mint chocolate chip, to pay for a two scooper. And in Wisconsin tradition, one scoop really means two...our attendant took a regular size ice cream scoop and plunged it in each container to grab two scoops of each. We ate it outside. The ice cream was as good as I remember, and alternating between mint chocolate chip and the Zanzibar was marvelous. We sat down on the edge of the fountain right outside, doing a little people watching while enjoying the weather. It makes me smile thinking about it. I was curious if there were other places around where we live that serves Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, and OMG Burgers and More seems to do so. Guess where I am going, the next chance I get...

Not amazing but very good. Some interesting flavors and great service. For a tourist place,…read moreexcellent.
