Saw flooring we liked on their website so stopped by the store to check it out in person. Duke was AMAZING! He was able to explain the difference in the floor styles we were looking at and guided us toward a sturdy option to take the wear and tear of multiple pets. We were able to give him our measurements and he placed our order. No pressure, explained the return process should we not need all the product we purchased. Since we didn't have our truck, we came back 2 days later to pick up. The team loaded said product into the back of our truck and on we went. Fast forward 1 month and I just called again today. We love this floor so much we picked up flooring to cover 2 more bedrooms, laundry room, guest bathroom and hallways. Again, Duke helped me out, I drove over a few hours later and they loaded us up. The contractors were great to work with and very flexible with our install dates due to unforeseen issues that delayed instal. Terrible customer service! We purchased a beautiful high-end engineered hardwood floor. LL Flooring provided the installation. The installers removed the existing carpet, and then said we needed supplies that they did not have. The installers left and we've had no flooring for more than a week! They have not called to arrange another installation date because the primer is not in stock. In the mean time, our home is practically unlivable! There have been no phone calls to follow up, no apologies, and no attempt to make us a satisfied customer. LL Flooring says it's not their problem, but it's a problem with the installers that LL Flooring hired. All the money is paid upfront so they have no motivation to perform. I will never do business with them again! read more

Thought I'd update this so folks can see how crappy this floor STILL is. Upsold this floor because they were insistent this is what I needed for our commercial fitness location. I CANT EXPRESS HOW TERRIBLE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, PRODUCT AND OVERALL DESIRE TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN. Do not spend your money here Do not be oversold Do not expect help if the product fails I spent a small fortune on this project to be disappointment AND having clients cut their feet and snag their hair on this floor. I purchased barley oak laminate flooring for my house in Oakdale. It was labeled as an odd lot. The salesman told me it was because it did not pass the test as aqua seal but the floor installers could not get it to fit together into the grooves. It was purchased as is no refunds no returns. So now the only thing it's good for is kindling. DO NOT buy anything from them that is not refundable. This is to Sandra's post below. I believe you're not gonna do anything about this situation if I contact you because when I had to go to consumer affairs because the San Jose store would not give me my refund for three months because I paid cash you did absolutely nothing for me. Your job is a joke. If you want to talk to me about refunding my money for this garbage product or any kind of a credit you can call me at209-988-4298. We recently purchased vinyl laminate in Dewy Meadow (light grey & cream)... We hired LL to install as well; they had to "remove tile" from the kitchen, pantry and entry way. We had them install the vinyl planks in the kitchen, family room, formal dining room, laundry room, pantry and entry way... All was finished in 2 days. Their team of 3 guys worked very hard and were professional. I'm happy with it but my only qualm was I wish my vinyl wasn't as seamless (this is an esthetic issue because of what I chose, not quality or product). I would of preferred a more rustic look which I may have gotten with a laminate. This vinyl has a sleek, seamless, contemporary look that doesn't fit as well with our heavy, woody furniture. We were unexpectantly in need of a new floor to replace badly a soiled carpet in a room; we already had 4 different flooring throughout the house I didn't want to add a 5th. So our search began to find a new floor for our entire 2500sqft home. The first place we visited we felt was priced way too high and outside our budget; this is what brought us to LL Flooring in Modesto. We first visited their website and picked our #1 interest, so we knew what to look for in their showroom. The visit was very pleasant; we looked at other flooring but stuck to the one we initially picked. Once the house was laser measured, the quote came in and was 10k under the original place we had visited. The purchase process was very quick and easy; we chose to finance, which also went very smooth. All products arrived and were stored inside the house until the job began. We got our installation instructions (several times, actually) via email and followed them the best we could. Project day came, and the installers (Juan & Alex) were on time and ready to begin. I had them start in a specific area (2 bedrooms - our offices & adjoining hallway) and asked if they would be able to finish this area in one day completely. I work from home and need my office to be able to work and minimize my downtime. They did it; one day 2 rooms and a hallway were completed, and I could move back into my office that evening. The rest of the project went just as great, and these two gentlemen continued to amaze me with how quick they worked and how detailed they were. Every evening I would go over each completed area very closely and never found one flaw or item to be concerned with. They were very respectful of us and our home, particularly the items within. During the installation job, there was open communication between LL Flooring, SW Contractors, and myself. The installation was going so well that there was only one small concern that was handled promptly by LL Flooring and handled to my advantage. I would not hesitate to use LL Flooring again so long as SW Contractors does the job and so long as I can request both Juan and Alex to be the installers. read more

I purchased vinyl flooring a month ago. I first spoke with Tony and he was absolutely wonderful. He went above and beyond and helped me get all the necessary information that I needed to provide my HOA. When I was ready to purchase I went into the store and I spoke with Jessica. She made the process easy and told us when it would be ready for pick up. A few days later I went to pick up the vinyl and I finally met Tony. I thanked him for his amazing service and he put all the boxes in my vehicle. Those boxes are at least 45 pounds and I had purchased over 20 boxes. The floors look gorgeous and I am very happy with them. I even had left over boxes and the return process was easy! I purchased flooring for a rental (over 2000 sq ft) and showed up on the day the email receipt told me to pick it up, only to learn no one was there to load it for me. I called the day before to make sure everything was OK and was told to come in. The woman working at the desk couldn't load the order with a fork lift due to a back injury. I don't know what kind of back injury prevents someone from operating a fork lift (but allows them to stand at a desk), but any company worth a damn would have a handi-capable employee there to fulfill the orders that they had already scheduled for pickup. Needing the materials that I paid for ASAP, I offered to load my own order by hand. The fat woman with the back injury said that was against their policy and I would have to wait until a leader came in from out of town. If I had known I wouldn't be able to pick my order up until days after L.L.'s said it would be ready, I would have paid 25% more to order elsewhere to get the product on time. read more

One piece was unavailable at their store so they told us they would order it from another store. That whole process took 5 weeks (rescheduling our floor installers twice, numerous phone calls and 2 extra visits to the store). I wish there were "-stars." The worst customer service I have experienced and this is based on 2 separate visits. So bad that I will be calling corporate. I would love to make a purchase for our new construction 3400 sq ft home but both times I have been there I cannot get anyone to help me. The first visit there was only 2 other customers there. There was one employee. As we were there looking (on a week day), a second employee came in with his lunch and went to the back. 2 other customer came in. 25 minutes later the first employee was still answering the phone and was still with the first customer, but he kept helping people that would call in...Long phone calls! When the second employee came from the back after his lunch break, he didn't ask who was next, he went to the customer that had JUST WALKED IN THE DOOR! There was a man that had been there before us. We left. 2nd visit there were two employees so I was hopeful. We got there at 10:15. This time we just stood in one spot thinking if we didn't move around it would help. There was 3 customers. Both employees were on the phone. As we waited 2 more customers came in with returns. I will be darn if the same thing didn't happen again! They have no regard that a person has been there waiting, they never tell a person calling in that they will have to call them back because they have a customer that is waiting in the store....These employees desperately need to be aware that people are busy, In our case my husband took time off work to pick out the flooring. The service was ok until I had an issue with my product. Apparently, the is NO WARRANTY on their products unless they install it. That is terrible customer service. It costs them nothing to take care of their customers because they are reimbursed by the company. They offered me NOTHING for the flooring I had installed, by the way, it was waterproof vinyl flooring and it wasn't inexpensive, and it was less than a year old. Purchased flooring and was told I would have my flooring on Monday, a quick delivery since items were in stock. The date came and no delivery, waited 3 days still no delivery. Had to call the store and they gave me the run around as to why it wasn't there. Stating they called our home to schedule a time, and no one answered. Which was not true. We are in a pandemic we are at home, we would have got the call and the we had no missed calls from Lumber Liquidators. Within an hour got a call from the delivery guys and two days later items finally arrived. Was told I would hear from the installer once I received the order, 6 days later, still no phone call. Had to call the store once again, Rep told me everything is good and he would have the installer call me, right away. A day later no call!! I again called the store, to be told the system was showing a part of the order had not been delivered due $20 needed to be paid to ship. First I am hearing of this?? Rep didn't say anything to me yesterday when I called? Strange... after much going back and forth it was discovered everything was good no issues. But now, she needed to push the button to show everything was delivered for the installer to call. Again, me having to wait, let's see how long before i get a phone call?? Not happy with Customer Service, wasn't offered a simple apology for all the mistakes or not following through on promised deliveries. First rule in customer service, don't make promises you can't keep. We have an entire home to redo and unfortunately due to the lack of follow through and sub par customer service, we won't be using this store. **UPDATE.. I filed a complain with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Customer service didn't come up with a solution, just repeating that the tile I ordered was discontinued. A month later, Lumber liquidators has still my money and I still don't have any tile. Complain with BBB is ongoing. If issue is not resolved, I will be filing with the California Consumer Affair. Since my trouble with Lumber liquidators, I did some research and found out that there is a lawsuit against the company, in California, Florida and Louisiana. There laminate flooring contain high formaldehyde levels. People who bought laminate from lumber liquidator are asked to get tested. We chose AV UL Golden Lake Oak porcelain tile in our home, wall to wall, and it is gorgeous! The staff in Stockton (March Lane) was helpful- especially Kevin. He helped us place the order and made us aware of no sales tax offer. The tile is exactly what Kevin promised- 40 tiles until a duplicate pattern. This creates a truly unique floor that will last for decades. We can't say enough good things about Lumber Liquidators and the staff in Stockton. read more

I recently did a flooring project on a 4 bedroom house and we settled with this company to provide the flooring. We ended up going with a dark, smokey type look flooring. I didn't have them install the flooring, we did it ourselves and saved about half the cost which was cool. I ordered some flooring material and was told by the salesman, that before I picked up my order, I should check it for damage. Well, it was checked, and several pieces were damaged, split pieces, broken tongue and groove. When my contractor pointed this out, the person on duty said, well she ( me) bought this and it's now HERS.This has nothing to to with natural variations in color, grain, etc. This is damaged lumber and they won't do anything about it. If there is a zero star, i will give them zero. The manager of this store is such a moron. He was not very helpful at all when I was explaining to him about the over charged that we received. We had changed our mind from getting acacia flooring and instead we went ahead and got the bamboo and got less materials from our original order. They have charged us the full amount from our first order and since we got less materials we had credits that are supposed to be going back to our accounts. The store manager said I will be getting a check instead since I have used two accounts and they can not apply it to the other one that is outstanding. I have waited and waited and the check never came. I went to their store and I spoke to the store manager and he stated that I am not getting any credit since it was given to me already. I said to him that I did not get a check but yet they charged it back to the account to look like they have given me a credit. He told me to call the lender and deal with them about it but yet the lender said the store is supposed to take care of it since they are the one that charged it back. The store manager argued with me and stated that Idid not know my math and I was already given the credit. So back to the same situation arguing and not getting anywhere. I called there corporate office and I was told I will be getting a call in 24 hours. Four days later still no call from them so I called them back. The lady from their corporate office said she will look at the problem and will call me back. Finally after three months of agony and frustration it got resolved. She told me that my account will be credited. Never again will buy anything from Lumber Liquidator and i will not recommend to anyone. read more

Lumber liqudators in San leandro gave me a price of 1.99 a square foot for a particular laminate. Told me to come on in and not to worry about bringing a quote or anything and that He would honor it. (This is the San Leandro store) When this Modesto store manager found out they were giving me the 1.99 price instead of their 2.39, he took off to the back to call them and came back and said "yes, they will NOT give you that price now" Cancelled my $1800 order with Modesto Lumber Liquidators and am now going somewhere else with my money. I am not even worried about the little .40 cents I would have saved but just the principle of his attitude was just bad for business. I have my own business too and this is not acceptable. read more

It had to be ordered so while I was waiting for it I decided to add more to my order to do an entry hall and it had been put on sale. COVID aside - this was an awful experience. I thought I was in for a minor job that turned into a huge hassle. LL had been recommended to me by a neighbor, but please don't take this as a recommendation. The sales pitch was great and the staff was friendly, but that is where the good part ends. I am sure that a lot of sales companies subcontract out installs, but LL uses a firm called S.W. - they schedule an appointment to measure and show you samples. At that point I already knew what I wanted, so I thought I was making it easy for the person who did the measurements, however, she called to mention she was in town and wanted to move my appointment. I had somewhere to be about an hour later, but she had promised she would be there in 20 minutes, which actually turned into 45. That should have been my first sign, but I went to make my purchase about a week later once the measurements were in. What I thought I was purchasing/contracting for was "two tone" flooring on my stairs and vinyl planking for two bathrooms and a hallway - the total square footage was less than 300 and ended up costing nearly $6,400. The flooring material by itself was approximately $1,250, so I was charged approximately $5,000 for labor and necessary materials. (Such as garbage bags, floor protection materials) If that wasn't enough to make me cancel the job, the fact that they dropped their materials in my garage on a pallet that took up half of my parking a month before the contractor was scheduled to do the work should have put the nail in the coffin. It gets worse, after paying $6,400 and parking outside for a month, the contractor finally showed up to install the floor. Next hiccup - LL did not provide the material for the white front face of the stairs, so the contractor started to put the same material on the entire staircase. Obviously SW had not fully explained the job to the contractor... was that my job? I ended up having to call SW and LL and picking up the material myself. Then, I thought the job was finally under control. Only to find out that the contractor was not hired to paint the white boards, merely install primed wood. There was also touch up work required for where the carpet had been removed, which they also did not do because painting is not in the contract... so after $6,400, a month of storing materials and three days of work, I was left with flooring installed in the bathrooms/hallway and the stairs 75% complete. My recommendation- purchase your own materials and hire your own contractor who will leave the job complete. read more

My husband and I were interested in installing hardwood floors so we went to this store with absolutey no clue about the different types of flooring, etc. What a great experience! Cameron Black provided us will tons of information but no pressure. He provided us with 2 samples to bring home to help us decide on a color and a the number to call if we wanted to use their installers. Again, no pressure. We scheduled an appointment with the installer for a measurement and installation fee. It was all made easy as the estimate was forwarded to directly to LL. I received a call within a day from Jim Stryker at LL with a total cost for materials. He was very patient with us as we navigated these strange waters having zero experience with flooring. Great customer service from both Jim and Cameron. Highly recommend. read more
