Ok, so I purchased an electric recliner couch and a love seat from another furniture store 2023 summer. The first chair stopped working properly after about 2 months. All 4 seats that reclined stopped working after 6 months. So I returned those couches and got my money back. So I was searching many furniture stores for the best couches I could buy with the best warranty. Each locations best couch was an Ashley couch. But they didn't offer more than a year warranty. I wasn't eveb aware we had an Ashley store in Modesto. I said I'm going straight to the source. I'm glad I did. I found the best couches I have ever seen. They come with a trademark material that is cratch proof, waterproof, etc. I can feel the difference in the quality right off the bat with material, mechanics, and comfort. I did buy the 5-year extended warranty because of my past experience. I hope I don't need to use it, but it's good to have. The service was excellent. I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed help finding anything. I explained my situation and what I was looking for. I was shown a few options he thought I might like. The second one was the one I ended up with. But I said, "Show me all you have, so I'm sure nothing can beat this one. " I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like anything more than those couches, but I just wanted to be sure. We spent at least an hour to an hour and a half from start to finish answering all my questions and making sure I was happy with the purchase. I never felt rushed or pressured. Top notch service. It was Labor Day, and they were having a sale. But I always love to get a good deal. So I was joking back and forth with many of the workers throughout that whole time, and one of them was the manager. I didn't even know that, haha. I believe the managers name was Brian. Super nice guy and was joking back and forth with me the whole time. He was super nice to help me out with an extra discount to make me happy. Sorry for the long story, but that's what it is, folks, haha. Seriously, you can't get better furniture with a better warranty than you can from Ashley's. Only time will tell just how good the couches end up being. I will update you if there is any bad news. Otherwise, they are working great. read more

I bought the TV stand from this place but pick it up from somewhere else which is fine with me , I live like 5 min away so I decided to pick it up from there , so I pick it up , took it home to found out the item was already damaged glued back together , so I called right away , the person that sold me the item didn't answer the phone , left vm ( which she never called back so I'm assume she quits or fired ) . I called the store I pick up from the sale guy answer the phone is real nice guy , but I wanted to talk to the manager , @ Lathrop location , never got the call back , so I called the 800 # the nightmare began , schedule the tech visit which is 2 weeks out , the tech showed up , he agrees the TV stand need to be replaced . Another week gone by back and forth , a lot of emails and a lot of phone calls taken place. Went to the store in Lathrop , spoke to Marcus he assured it's gonna get replaced , but wait you bought it from Modesto , yeah you should , you want to talk to Modesto store , so I went back to Modesto store , waited for the assist manager , another run around , we are going through different ownership , different support group bla bla , now Friday , day after thanks giving , I got the text msg , policy bla bla policy .. you shoulda open the boxes and check it before you take it home , and not our problem , bla bla check your local store , you shit out of luck !!! So what do I think ? I will always stand and buy from Costco , they always back up their stuffs that they sold , they don't make them but they will stand by it with 100 percent certainty , Gave Ashley furniture a chance ? I paid that huge price of regret , and it already damaged TV stand in my living room .. they don't encourage customer to open the package and inspect it !! I know for certain, it wasn't damaged on the transport like they claim !! The damaged part was glued back together !! Went in looking for a new recliner. I was the only customer in the entire store. I was greeted by a sales associate as soon as I walked in and shown to where the recliners were kept. I had a few specific questions about the chairs, as I am disabled and have certain needs. I was shown a couple of specific chairs, but then the sales associate walked away and didn't bother to return. Several other associates were just standing around looking at their phones and not paying me any attention. There was absolutely no effort to make sure I found what I was looking for, nor was there any follow up to try and make a sale. I felt dismissed as if they had already decided that I was not going to buy anything. I was definitely interested in a specific chair, but I wasn't going to chase down someone in order to make a purchase. They missed out on a $2k plus sale. If that's how they treat all their customers, I don't understand how they stay in business. I won't be back. read more

This Ashley's furniture location is underwhelming and lacks a diverse selection of various styles. The majority of the couches/sectionals are recliners and most of the couches they call sectionals are all similar in density/feeling. Hard and barely comfortable. Definitely is catered to a specific type of style with very limited options. If you're looking for modern, sleek, comfortable and diverse styles, I would definitely avoid this place. read more

People that work here don't have the slightest concept of "interior design", they're just a bunch of sales people trying to make commission. One of the guys there who looked like all he does in his spare time is work on his body, didn't even have a clue what I was looking for or trying to achieve in my living room. People that work in furniture stores should be able to help you with what you are trying to achieve in your living space simply because they should KNOW the products... apparently not his dude. He really has no business working at a furniture store or anything that has to do with 'design'. He really should be working as a delivery person because he was totally useless. They just gather around and chit chat. That's is all I saw, a bunch of sales people gathered together chit chatting and staring at customers! The furniture is cheaply made. They talked us into the warranty making it sound like they would fix or replace if anything happened, especially spots from pets, in which we have. We ended up calling the warranty because the couch started squeaking every time you sat down or got up. A tech came out to evaluate and sent in a claim, the claim was denied because the frame has to actually break and ours was only damaged ????? Whatever!! Geez So DO NOT fall for the warranty sales. I ordered a bed for my daughter on the online store , shipping was fast along with a call letting me know time and day of delivery. Only issue was defective rails . The online customer service made me take picture's and send back in email , which I did , however they never got back to me in 24 hours like they said they would . So i called the Modesto store and talked to Geri . She immediately reached out to customer service for me and did exactly what she said she would do to help me in a prompt timely manner. My bed was literally fixed two days after I called her . Thats what I call excellent service by a manager ! Very impressed. There's a reason this place only has two stars. This is my second time in the store. The first time I did not have a great experience. However, it has been a couple of years so I figured I'd give it a try again. I am currently looking for a sleeper sofa for my home office. I walk in and the person at the front kiosk asked how he can help me. I explained to him what I'm looking for. Before I can finish my sentence, he started shaking his head with an annoyed look on his face without verbalizing why. It was as if my request was bothering him. I asked why he was shaking his head. He and another staff member explained that they have a long history of not being able to fit these through bedroom doors and said that they have nothing that would work for me. After a small back and forth of them insisting it wouldn't work without showing me anything, they said they would only deliver to the front door and wouldn't take it into the house because they knew for a fact that anything they have wouldn't fit into a bedroom/home office. I said, "please just show me what you have." One of them then took me to a small pullout loveseat that they insisted would be the only thing would fit. I wanted to see something a little larger but, out of frustration, I didn't want to press the issue and left. It was obvious they didn't want my business. I traveled a bit further out to Living Spaces in Manteca. They went above and beyond to help me find what I needed. They even pulled a couch off of a shelf to allow me to sit on it and try it out. Whoever the manager is at Ashley furniture needs to work with their staff on customer service. Because this could've been an easy sale and they lost out on a current and future customer. Was in the Modesto location about month ago and over heard a convo with the store manager Geri and another employee. Geri was talking down to this employee and over all completely rude. I had intentions of purchasing a mattress and bedframe but after hearing how Geri treated her employee I walked out and will not be returning. I also have a son in his 20's who is a college student looking for a part time. I have told him and his friends to steer clear of this place. My fiance and I love the this place. We've never had an issue with furniture and their financing options are really great for our budget and lifestyle. However, it's very irritating when we go into the store simply to look for new furniture and we make it CLEAR to associates that we are NOT buying that day and they continue to try to sell us on something AND follow us around the store to "keep an eye" on us. We are grown adults. If we have a question, we will gladly come grab one of you. But, shopping around doesn't mean we need our hands held. I'd give a -10 stars if I could. Sorry if this rambles but too much has happened over the past few months to say it in a perfect little passage. I ordered furniture for an entire house back at the beginning of May. I still don't have all of my furniture. I have had more delivery dates with failed deliveries than items that have landed in my home. When I call to complain to find out how they would like to remedy the issues, they are snippy and expect me to smile through it while they continue to provide incompetent services. I received a couch with power reclining seats with no power cords. I'm still arguing with them to fix the issue. I ordered bed sets for my children; where are the dressers? Oh I was given a delivery date when the furniture will not land in the warehouse until a week after? Total incompetence. I have been repeatedly told that they will call with updates. They don't call. You have to drive to the store to get a response. I live 45 minutes away. I have made about 4-5 trips to the store because they cannot provide answers over the phone. The delivery workers will destroy your walls when they deliver furniture and the store will not compensate you or give you a discount to make up for the damage. Don't order from Ashley. So here we go again. Wife wanted this certain bed set. Ashley was the only one that had it. We met John the salesman. Nice man. Down to earth. We ended up buying the entire set. Here is where it went downhill fast. The bed set was delivered to find out the headboard was damaged in numerous places. The bed did not come with proper bolts so they couldn't put it together. The nightstands are cheaply made. The dresser was damaged and repaired with a stupid staple. Are you kidding Ashley's? Another area was taped to hid the blemish and painted over. I rejected the whole order. The delivery guys were nice and cool about rejecting the whole order. Matter of fact when the delivery guy called the Ashley call center, the call center told the delivery guy he noted the rejection and hung up on the delivery guy. Worst possible place to buy furniture. Sales people say anything to get you to buy. I spent 4000.00 for a sofa on 1/1/22 with them telling me would be in in 4-6 weeks. This is the third delay after setting up 3 appointments and just not showing up. When ask to speak to corporate they give bogus number that goes to generic call center after guaranteeing it will go to "corporate" offices. Last three calls were over 55 minutes on hold with no pick up. Giving to attorneys at this point as the customer service and conflict resolution department of this company appears to be non existent and customer service company line is to lie and get off the phone in any way possible. We loved our initial sales associate, however, when she left for the evening, her co-worker who was sleazy as hell, approached us saying "I received a text to take care of you." We kept saying "we know you're closing and we have an appointment for tomorrow." He closed the doors, gated them up, and was pressuring us to sign up for a credit card & buy "right now." We finally put our foot down & the ONLY reason we went the next day was because we are people of our word. The next day.... We told our sales associate what had happened & she was so apologetic & embarrassed. Apparently this sleeze ball has done this before. The SALES MANAGER was trying to give us our couches for $400 MORE THAN the sticker price saying, "well I helped you yesterday so that's all I'm going to do." WE SHOULD HAVE WALKED. Our sales associate asked us to come back AGAIN to speak to the store manager. At this point, we were thinking, maybe we will get a deal.... -__- THE NEXT DAY..... We speak to the store manager who was nice, however, she gave us a measly $100 off for the "minor inconvenience." The prices on the furniture were still not correct & we had to fight to get anything off because they kept saying, "well we don't know how much we can give you because it's not the end of the day." such bull! WE SHOULD HAVE WALKED - LEARN FROM US! We were dumb & still purchased the couches. I will never order from Ashley's again. I purchased a new mattress and bed frame. The salesman last second told us we will also need a boxspring. I said I'll order somewhere else after seeing the prices but he convinced me otherwise. He also stated if there is anything I don't like I can reject at delivery. Once my set arrived my bed was so tall because the sale man ordered us 8 in height of boxsprings when this bed frame needs 4in. I told the delivery guy I did not want them as the salesman said I could do and the delivery guy told me to call Ashley's. As I was focused on calling them the delivery guy handed someone else in my household something to sign which they did in confusion and then he left!! Now Ashley's is telling me they won't refund me or take them. This place is such a scam. As I rejected the box springs the delivery guy would not take them and stated I had to call Ashley's. I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews!! I came to Ashley's years ago and bought a beautiful reclining sectional & a reclining chair . It has held up great at looks just as beautiful as the day we bought it . So I was looking for a new bedroom set and I made the mistake to go to Furniture City. I seen something on Instagram and wanted to go check it out . While looking around I saw a beautiful bedroom set I wanted. I was told it wasn't in stock and could take 4 months or more but they wanted me to pay now . So I noticed that bed was from Ashley's HomeStore so I called. I talked to a really nice lady named Adell and she said they had bed in stock and I should come down and talk to her . So I went Ashley's and spoke with Adell she was very friendly & helpful. She was able to get me a great price on the bedroom set and was able to set up delivery for that weekend!! The whole process of buying furniture was smooth. I don't know why I didn't come here first. Next time I'm looking for furniture Ashley's HomeStore will be the first place I go to. They have excellent customer service and offer good quality furniture. read more

I visited the store a few weeks ago and wanted to purchase a few dressers. One salesperson told me that I would not be able to take them away that day because the people in the loading dock were gone for the day. However, a really kind salesperson named Victor was nearby and offered to take my items to the loading dock so I could transport them to my house that day. Victor and his crew took both dressers to the dock and put them in my SUV and I carried them home that day. He was so helpful and he wasnt even the one who got the sale. The young lady who got the sale was new and she was great as well but she did not know enough yet to make it happen. Thank you to Victor and his whole team. My wife loves the dressers! read more

My husband and I just bought our house and were in search of new couches. This was our second furniture store and right away we were created by Josh, the sales rep. He was very helpful in our search by answering questions, and being personable without being evasive. He helped us find the perfect couches, he found us what we described to him to the tee. Had my 2 couches delivered in early November 2020. One of the couches came damaged. Some of the brackets for the backing were bent sideways. The delivery guys were very nice and attempted to bend them back. They were able to bend them so they could at least get the back on so the couch was usable. He took pictures and told me they would fix/replace the couch and Ashley would contact me. 2 weeks later, still no call from Ashley. I called and they had no idea about the damage. Told me they don't have access to photos taken by delivery team. I scheduled a technician to come out since it was required. No available dates for couple weeks. Technician never showed up for repair/replacement. Called Ashley and they told me no date was scheduled. I had to set up another date again and this time had to submit photos (apparently that is why the 1st technician didn't show up because the 1st time i called the representative didn't tell me or ask for any). 2nd date scheduled for Dec 15th. Was told I would be called prior to technician arrival. No call. I was at work and only knew he showed up because of RING doorbell. I called Ashley and they said he already showed up and he was SUPPOSE to call but DID NOT! So now I have to reschedule AGAIN! I love the couch but getting a technician is such a mess!!! Update: We ended up canceling and just going to IKEA. It's great finally having a couch. Update: Today (12/6/2020) we were supposed to get ONE piece of our couch and they sent the wrong item. Awful customer service. We ordered our couch for our new place September 19th and we were told we would get our couch November 2nd. They called October 30 to tell us it will not be ready until November 29th. They let us know it would have to be a new date once again for December 6th. It is December 5th today they texted to confirm delivery. I accepted and received a call shortly after confirming two pieces will be arriving. They called at noon and someone from the warehouse told me that only one piece of the sectional couch would be ready tomorrow and had no estimated time for the only other part of the couch. I am done with having to sit on patio furniture in my house. I will never purchase anything from them again and if they keep up with their current business model they will definitely lose future customers. read more

Zero stars. Order online if you want better prices and faster delivery and SET UP. They will NOT match online pricing, even though they are a corporate store, the reps want the higher commission. IN-STORE customer reps are rude, snarky, and very little to no help. They will be rude when you ask questions and lie about prices until the final paperwork comes to pay. Set up and delivery is a joke, they will try their best to not set up, when you deny the order because you paid for delivery and set up, they get mad because they have to take back the items because they don't want to do what you paid for. The store rarely answers their phones, and you will spend hours trying to get a hold of someone, you're better off going to the store. Seriously, go to the store to see the items in person, but order online. WAY better pricing online, same items, and it's a way smoother process. read more

Apparently I should have read the reviews before going to Ashleys for a kitchen table. It was delivered on 6/28/2022. The guys put it together for us. Today (7/10/2022) two of the legs snapped off. The bolts went through the holes, damaging the legs and the underneath of the table. We assume this happened because of the way they tightened the bolts down. We contacted Ashleys and they told us that because we bought it "back in June" we have to have an inspector come look at it and decide if it can be repaired before they replace it. The soonest they can come out is 7/27. So we are going weeks without a table. A table should not fall apart after not even two weeks read more

Just received delivery of a bedroom set we spent thousands on today. To say I'm super disappointed is an understatement. I was so excited to receive a brand new bedroom set and so disappointed to see that EVERY piece was damaged upon delivery. Paint was chipped and furniture was gashed. Did they send a floor model? Seems like it. Or a second hand set. See pictures and judge for yourself. Not sure how this crap passed inspection. Then after the delivery team left, the warehouse calls to say they could not deliver one of the nightstands because it did not pass inspection. Wooooow. Must have been shattered into a hundred pieces for them to say that one couldn't be let through. The bed rails were so badly damaged that we refused delivery on it. Then the idiot delivery driver calls on two separate occasions after he leaves to say he has our delivery. So disorganized. He can't even keep his deliveries in order. Will go down to the store to attempt to resolve the issue but again- can you really trust them? Not sure.... will update after I speak with the manager. 11/21/19: After visiting the Ashley store, we agreed to having another complete bedroom set delivered to us a week later in hopes that it would be in good condition. Unfortunately this set was also delivered in unacceptable condition. After being let down yet again, we had enough pushed for a return from Ashley. The return process took so long and we faced so many obstacles getting our money back. Since we had spent $4,000 on the set, we persisted and after many phone calls (literally 10+ calls) to both the Modesto store and the fulfillment center, we *finally* got our money back just barely a couple days ago. So completely disappointed because when we placed the order I was pregnant and we had high hopes for having our bedroom set up prior to me delivering our daughter. Before I tell you why I give them a 2 star rating, I will give you a few positives. The staff was accommodating when we asked for a full refund. They didn't question us; they were apologetic and realized they made a mistake. My Girlfriend purchased Two Beds, Couch, Two Mattresses, $6,000+ She made this purchase in late August and was told by the staff that her mattresses and box springs would be delivered on September 5th. Excited about her new apartment and that she will have a bed to sleep on, we waited all weekend for a call about when to expect a delivery on September 5th. We never got a call. So Tuesday, September 5th, we take the day off work and wait for a call or some kind of communication......Nothing. So we decide to call the store to see when delivery was scheduled. We were put on hold repeatedly at least 3 times. My Girlfriend decided to text the original sales person's personal cell phone to ask if we should expect a delivery and to please have someone at the store contact her. He responded quickly and said he would check when he went to work. We then received a text message 30 min later saying that the Items were not available for delivery until September 19th. Finally, someone from the store called to explain that the items would be delivered on September 19th. (Originally confirmed to be delivered on Sept. 5) The lady then told my girlfriend that she would go check in the storage to see if there was something comparable. WHAT? So we hung up and decided to wait for another hour to see if she would call back.....NOPE. ( I guess it's a big storage area?) So we decide to drive to the Modesto location to cancel our order for the Mattresses and box-Springs, all the while constantly being put on hold by Ashley Customer service number. When my girlfriend told the lady at the front desk her name, she immediately expressed how sorry she was. And that she was meaning to call her back. We asked for a refund and the sales associate didn't question why...because she knew how horrible we were treated. They lost $4,000 because they over-promised and under-delivered. Poor customer service. If we didn't call them and then had to drive to the store, we would have been waiting all day for a delivery that we paid a fee of $150.00 (Delivery Fee) that never would have come. We were only expecting the Mattresses and Box Springs September 5th as Promised. The beds and Couch were set to be delivered on September 18th. We still wanted these Items and didn't ask for a refund for these. As we are driving home from getting a refund, we get a call that furniture is being delivered to the new apartment. This is news to us as we never got a call about an impending delivery, and the Couch and Bedroom sets were set to be delivered on September 18th. The bedroom set was delivered on September 5th, damaged and unusable. It was originally only available for delivery 9/18...somehow it magically appeared on 9/5 without any communication from delivery or store. We hurry over and discover a box with my girlfriends bedroom set. So I turn the box over and there is a gaping hole in the box and multiple punctures to the box. One of the holes punched a 3 inch GASH into the Headboard. (See Pic) The WORST luck with ASHLEY! No communication at all and a bunch of false information. So my girlfriend and her son have no beds to sleep on because Ashley Home Furniture apparently lied to us about having the items they sold to us in stock. We both took days off work to accommodate delivery. BTW: The Original Sales person was nowhere to be found. Maybe not on the clock yet? At least they gave us all our money back...over $6,000 in total. We cancelled the orders for the couch and both bedroom sets while spending another : 45 min of our day dealing with customer service on the phone to arrange a pick-up of the damaged Bedroom set. We bought a Tv stand in Dec. The employee processed the order incorrectly and we were sent a tv stand 3 months after we already purchased one from the store that had already been delivered. We received no confirmation phone call of a delivery like with previous orders. The stand we didn't order was dumped in front of our gate on the side walk by a delivery person who never attempted to call us. The store is saying unless we bring the tv stand back we are responsible for paying for it. It will not fit in our car and the store refuses to have it picked up even though their employees have messed up on every level. Don't buy from this store no matter how cute the furniture seems. Their employees are shady and irresponsible and there's no accountability anywhere from management. Specifically stay away from a sales lady named Lina. She'll force you to do a hard credit check for way more financing then you actually need then tries to use it to pressure you into buy high ticket items like mattresses. read more

Worst place to go for furniture, I went in on 1/18 to buy furniture, spent over $2500 on a living room set, girl who was helping us, ASHLEY, you can tell all she wanted the the credit, first of all she didn't explain anything, after deciding what couches I wanted, she tells me "walk around the store and figure out what pieces you want,(coffee tables and decor) she says take a picture of Sku and bring to me when your done, ok..... after everything she tells me she said you can pick up your delivery on 1/24, 1/24 my appt in Lathrop was at 10am, I arrive at 940, check in, sat in waiting area for 1 hour watching guys play with the tape and drag there feet to pull items and throw them, finally they tell me my order is ready, I go check, it's the WRONG COUCHES. I tell them and they tell me you have to figure it out on your own and call Modesto store, so I call and get transferred to the "sales manager" who has no sense of urgency or making things right, I tell her, I'd like for you to pull the cameras and see what happend that day, where we sat and decided which couches we wanted, she tells me sorry we don't have cameras in our store. People please reciew these reviews before getting suckered into purchasing ANY furniture from these thieves. I purchased a sofa and loveseat combo leather recliner seats for close to $5k. From the get go these recliners have made some God awful noises to the point that we are unable to recline our seats. I have had technicians come out and are baffled that we still can deal with these couches. When I called Ashley they informed me since it wasn't a mfg defect that they couldn't do anything about it. I'm sorry how is this my defect? It has been occurring from day one and I was told to put conditioner on it and the noise would dissipate after a few weeks. Well even after 2 bottles of leather condition the noise is so loud we can't even open or close our seats; especially in the evening when our kids are asleep. Ashley you are the one who manufactured this set so anything wrong with it is your problem NOT mine. Do not buy from here... this is your warning!!
