On November 5, 2025, I spent $538.93 on Christmas décor. I asked about the next day's Open House sale and was told there was "no information." The next day, I learned everything was 20% off. When I asked for a price adjustment or exchange--well within the 14-day policy--I was refused. An employee took my items to the back, gave me a gift card and did not even put my name on it and told me, "We are not selling them to you." I was denied my discount, denied an exchange, and treated extremely poorly. Pamela who helped me had the worst attitude and said this was a private sale. How can it be private if there is a large banner on the building OPEN HOUSE!! They STOLED MY MONEY!! My credit card company was shocked and disgusted at Pamelas attitude. It's shocking to me to see so many great reviews for this place. I've been here three times now and the service is terrible every time! If we're reviewing the furniture and decor then I can say, yes, they have a beautiful selection here. Maybe I don't look like someone who can afford it, I don't know, because I most definitely can but what I do know is that I've never once been greeted and today I was the only person in the store so it's not like they were busy. In the days of big box stores and online shopping, having a beautiful store of unique finds in Modesto is a gem! I don't want people coming to my house and recognizing the furniture I have from other stores. I ordered a sectional for my new home (I got to pick out the layout of the sectional, the fabric, and even the fabrics for the accent pillows) and ended up walking away with a new dining table too. I even had the option to have the furniture delivered for a nominal extra fee. The furniture is good quality, and the price is not much more than what you'd pay for furniture anywhere else. I'd highly recommend looking here before committing to furniture from anywhere else. I love just randomly perusing the store every season or so too; it's always changing and always decorated exceptionally well. Can't say enough great things about this place. My boyfriend and I moved to the area recently, and with covid have had absolutely no luck finding furniture as everything is usually out of stock. We put a deposit down for a couch here and the supplier kept pushing the delivery date back. Pam worked with us and was able to get us another couch that we absolutely love, and it is now being delivered in a few days! Pam's customer service is on point. She knew how badly we wanted a couch and although our original couch was delayed through no fault of her own, she took it upon herself to make sure we were well taken care of. I went to At Home Furniture to shop as I had seen some end tables on their website that I wanted to purchase. They didn't have them in-store, but were very helpful in ordering them for me. This is a lovely store with many beautiful items. If you are looking for something unique, you might try here. When I went back to pay for the rest of my order, I saw that they had some really cute (and different) greeting cards. I was happy to learn that they were 1/2 off at the time. Just left here a few hours ago. This is hands down the best buying experience I've ever had. Megan was soooo amazing. I was referred here and I'm glad I loved it. This isn't your typical furniture buying experience. It's much more than that. I don't even know how to explain it. I have not received my items yet but I know it's going to be great. I love home decorating! I think in a previous life I was an interior decorator. I was also a princess but that is a different story for another time. ;) At Home is located next to O'Brien's on Dale Road. It is a super cute home furnishing store. I appreciate that their selection is unique and not found in every furniture store in Modesto. I also like the fact that the inventory changes often. They don't carry a zillion of the same pieces. That means that not everyone in town will have the same furniture as you. The staff are friendly and do not pressure you to buy, buy, buy. The prices are also really reasonable! With their prices you can afford to decorate your little heart out. Shop away! read more

After browsing around online for a specific style of bed I wanted I came across At Home. They have a wonderful online selection and had just what I was looking for and it ended up being $300 cheaper then anywhere else! The ladies at the store were so sweet and very helpful! Since Covid, I try to only shop at smaller businesses in order to support them. I just moved from Sacramento, and I needed to furnish my new home. I noticed this store had many great things and I could not wait to go in and shop in there. Sadly, I was treated like I was invisible. There was no one else in the store, the young lady working behind the counter ignored me. As I waited around for help and even looking at fabric, no response. A couple came in about 10 min after me, the worker quickly acknowledges them and informs them about their sales. As I made my way back to the front, still no help from anyone. This is just so rude. Customer service goes a long way. Luckily for me google suggested I try Back Home Furniture in Turlock. I was able to find my living room set, dinning and bedroom set in that store. If you're looking to be treated like a person, go to Back Home in Turlock. Rhonda is excellent, nothing compared to this store. read more

Hands down one of my favorite shops in Modesto. I have purchased 22 chairs for my 16 ft dining table, two down pillow couches, and many pieces to decorate with. I absolutely love this store. After a very disappointing experience trying to get a leather sofa made and sold exclusively by Amazon, (9 hours with customer service & 8 missed delivery appointments over 2 months) I called and asked if they sold any sofas off the floor and they said they had some available. When I came in I was helped by Trenton, very knowledgeable, friendly and customer centric. Fell in love with the Madilane sofa and even though it was much more then I was going to spend, she's absolutly worth every penny. Trenton was able to sell us the floor model that had only recently arrived and 4 days later, she was in her new home! Four days! Megan and Pam are also amazing and I've already recommended the place to my Bay Area clients. Their delivery crew Kyle and Victor were amazing in getting her set perfectly. Everything about this place is top notch and stunning. Being able to support a local business featuring products made by skilled craftspeople here in the US is especially satisfying. The ready-to buy items available at this store are nice and unique, overpriced, but nice. My husband and I recently bought furniture from here and even though we knew exactly what we wanted the woman that helped us was anything but pleasant. We still went through with the order because we liked the items enough and frankly, its Modesto, not many good options for decent home decor in the area. About 2 weeks later our order was ready for pick-up....at a totally different location the employee never informed us about. We had to drive to the store to pick up a "packing slip" and then go 20 minutes across town before 4pm to pick up the pieces. When we got there a young kid just brought the boxes over to the car and didn't even offer to help put them into the vehicle. He also just took the packing slip and didn't even ask for a signature. We got home and there were about 1638623 pieces that needed to be put together. The employee never informed us of the pick up process, and then to add to that never disclosed that the items would need assembly and if the store offers it. We would have opted for assembly assistance. These are kind of important things to cover with a customer thats buying something from their store. Please train your employees better. I don't think I'll ever buy anything I can't take out of the store same-day myself ever again. read more

My first visit to At Home was a complete success - the help was fantastic. I received a personal consultation including help and suggestions to fill a plain wall after the removal of a large television, replaced by a flat screen on a console. There was never any pressure, just helpful suggestions. I was able to bring the suggested paintings home to observe in the room setting (and for my husband's "approval") and either bring them back or authorize deposit of my check. I was even more pleased with the selection when I returned home so purchased the paintings (with a 15% discount because of a heart-shaped candy I drew from a candy jar)! Although I live in another town, approximately an hour away, for sure I will be returning to the shop and recommending At Home to my firends read more

A word of advice to anyone considering buying a full-size bed and a trundle. Keep in mind you are compromising the stability of the bed if you decide to put a trundle under it. In order to use the trundle, you have to remove the center support legs, because otherwise, it won't fit underneath. I recently bought two full-size beds and decided I also wanted a trundle for each of the beds. Because I wasn't able to use the center support legs, one of the beds broke and I had to replace one of the rails. When I took it back I was told it broke because it was being used to jump on. Had to remind the owner, my daughter, is 21 and has gotten over the jumping stage. Long story short, I removed the trundles and installed the center support legs and it is now fine. We are happy with the beds, but we would have like to have been told the trundles can only be used on twin beds because they do not require center support legs. It would have helped to have been able to see a floor model as opposed to buying straight out of a catalog. I gave them 3 stars because we've bought furniture there and have been very pleased, but the lack of information with regard to the use of the trundles and the little bit of grief I received when exchanging the rail, could have warranted better customer service on behalf of the owner. read more

I was shopping Saturday at the store AT HOME in Modesto on Saturday. I bought a coffee table. The clerk Ashley told me she would hold the end table for me if I decided I wanted it in Sunday she would give it to me for no sales tax. I returned on Sunday to purchase it and was greeted by the rudest person j have ever seen. She treated me with ZERO respect. I told her I was told it would be tax free and she said they didn't do that . I asked her to call Ashley she texted her then called Ashley then stated she never said that. She lied to cover her self. I had no reason to say that. I decided that maybe I didn't need the coffee table and was told it couldn't be returned. The young blond that was unkept was the most rudest person I have ever seen. She said it was on clearance and I couldn't do that. When I purchased it that was never told to me. I have spent a lot of money at this business but I can promise you I will never go back. I have told all my KAISER CO WORKERS not to shop there. They basically called me a liar over 20 dollars. I bought the end table because I wanted it they didn't help me take any of there merchandise off help me to the car nothing. It was the worst experience I have ever had. I spent alot of money and only wish I could return it. There are plenty of home stores to give my money to . It won't be at this establishment. Please don't shop here read more
