This is a very dangerous place to be in for my husband and I. We're here for one purpose and one purpose only...Gundam! They have good variety of kits and the prices were good especially when they have the 40% off sale. My husband will get out of here with arm full of them. Now, everytime we're here we always go straight to the aisle those kits are located in. We know our purpose and we stick to it. Until one day, I strayed away and decided to explore the other aisles and boy that was a huge mistake. I ended up with a cart full of mostly Hello Kitty stuff, sewing things and anything that I thought I needed (even if there's really need for it). I love that this place is a crafter, hobbyist and anything in between's paradise. I can get most of the thing here that I want and actually save money. My only complaint is that it can be hard at times to find associates that work here if you needed something locked to be opened or if you have any questions needed some answers. But other than that, this place can be the death of my bank account (ToT) and at the same time my paradise(^.^) read more

I went to both Hobby Lobby's in Modesto and Turlock the last couple of months and I had nothing but really great experience. Of course it's gonna be crazy and busy during the Holidays. You just have to have patience and be kind to people while waiting in line. Several people on here claimed they waited in line for 45mins and the employees were rude....Lol....I only waited for 10 - 15 minutes each time. Time flies fast when you are talking with people next to you. The employees were very helpful and nice. One of the cashiers gave me a free small ceramic Christmas tree set because the tip was broken. The woman cutting the fabric (Bridget) was going TURTLE SPEED. Absolutely ridiculous. Checking her phone while she's in the middle of helping a customer. I'm so sad and disappointed that Hobby Lobby doesn't offer or honor coupons any longer. They said it has been that way for at least a year or two! Their prices are general very high. Coupons will offset that, at least somewhat. Plus, the hours are limited: Closed on Sundays. Monday through Saturday only 9am-8pm. The parking lot is always crowded, they have ridiculously long check out lines, and the employees refuse to help. They will only point you in the general direction/or they simply aren't knowledgeable about what you are asking assistance for. They could go find someone who knows, but they won't. So frustrating, especially if the customer has mobility issues or a disability. I actually had another customer help me MORE than the employees (who aren't volunteering their time!) In a "crafting emergency" you can't count on Hobby Lobby. I won't be back, unless absolutely necessary. read more

Crazy how long the lines get here. No way they should basically be to the back of the store. I get they have sales but all associates should be on registers. I've seen 3 wondering in the back instead of assisting up front. I've also seen two managers lingering over by the flowers instead of hoping on a register. Trust me I've worked retail and have seen managers hop on registers and still back up cashiers with overrides and so forth. 38 Minutes, 12 seconds. This is how long we were standing in line Saturday Morning. It took us a total of ten minutes to find the items we came to purchase. Was thinking it was just going to be a quick in and out. NOPE. While standing in line we were observing and wondering, along with the customers around us. There was only 3 check stands open, three lines that backed up all the way to the crafts section. The head Cashier walking around with Zero sense of urgency. We watch as the couple in front of us with 20+ glass Christmas figurines watch and stare as the poor teenage cashier girl has to wrap each of their 20+ figurines one by one. There's no barcode system here so they have to type in the item number instead of simply scanning. We wont be coming back again. Nobody want's to wait 40 minutes just standing in line waiting to purchase 4 items. You guys really need to work on either your scheduling or your checkout system. read more

I love hobby lobby don't get me wrong but today the CSM that was working on Saturday march 22nd at 3pm was probably one of the most unhelpful, rudest people I have ever met there. To make me wait in like for 25 minutes for a simple exchange for the cashier to barely look at the receipt and just give me it back and tell me I'm good. Like you couldn't have just been more helpful and done that yourself??? Then when I ask you for help when I walked in you tell me to go grab the item I want to exchange then " get in line". We showed up not knowing they closed early for New Year's Eve and the manager in the red shirt YELLED at us from the door into the parking lot we are closed it's new years it's 5:30. Third time to this store. It is consistent. The award for the unfriendliest employees. The culture in this store is awful. Bonita was checking us out. She was very slow and unfriendly. I had a cricut item under the counter. I told her I had it there. She said I will get to it. She preceded to work very slow and mumble under her mask. She finalized my order and she didn't ring in the cricut. I asked her if she did and she just looked at me and said no. I said can you? She then did it. Earlier it took me 10 minutes to find anyone in the back of the store to get help with the cricut stuff. There was nobody around. Finally got help and she walked the device to the front. The supplies here are nice but man... customer service should be at the top of the stores motto. read more

This location has great inventory. Unfortunately they always have extremely long lines. The evening I was here. The staff gathered up in front after the police escorted an unwanted guest. Then gossiped about difficult customers they had in the past. But only had 2 people to check out customer. Many were making comments about the long wait. Went here yesterday to pick up some decorations for my mantle and the place was packed! Despite this, only three of the nine registers were open, with lines curling around the back of the store and the cashiers showing no sense of urgency whatsoever. I ended up waiting in line for over an hour! This could have easily been remedied by making sure to schedule enough people to make sure there were enough registers open. Not sure if that was the store manager's fault, or corporate's, but either way it was very poor customer service. The lines are usually long here, but I've never had to wait over an hour before. read more

I went there a few days ago, and asked where in the store the felt was, to the lady with glasses in fabric department . She was busy chatting with a coworker and said as she pointed to "craft dept" and pointed down there. I was confused. But I tried searching and did not find anything. I saw her a few moments later and she sighed and pointed with a scowl down further. I still did not find it. So I came home and called and she answered phone but didn't have paper or pen to write down information, so I had to wait forever long for her to come back to phone with paper and pen. Wow this place is awful. It's a pain in the butt to find a staff member to help you. I waited around for about twenty minutes until a staff member could help me. WHY DON'T YOU EMPLOY MORE PEOPLE?!?! There's no shortage of people looking for jobs, Hobby Lobby!! The TWO lines are ALWAYS swarmed with people and for no good reason. I waited an extra half an hour just to be checked out. WHY?!?! I needed a couple of things from Hobby Lobby so I went inside to find them. The store is well merchandised, screams out Halloween and Christmas. The merchandise is beautiful and priced fair. What I didn't like was the checkout. 2 registers open and at least 12 people in each line. The line I was in was in need of a price check on an item that had no scan bar on it. There didn't seem to be anyone who could help this girl as she kept calling for assistance. Very frustrated I finally took my items to the cashier and left them there and left the store. I understand that things happen, people call in sick, they don't show up for work, quit and walk off the job, but there were many employees that were stocking that should've been helping the front end out. read more

There goes 32 minutes of my life I'll never get back. IN THE RETURN LINE! Worst system and customer service I've ever dealt with at a department store. The cashier called the CSM to the register every 2 min for help. "Per policy". Have the CSR work that register then! Thank goodness I had my receipt, wouldn't you think that would help? No! The CSM still had to go check with another employee to see if the stems I bought were still in store....a week after I bought them. What a joke! To make things worse, when I finally did express my frustration to the CSM Christina, she was extremely rude and dismissive! Didn't offer a single apology or help speeding up the line. I genuinely enjoy going to the hobby store. I was able to find a few things for school projects & a few things for fun. I will say the new way they have the store lay out it makes it easier to maneuver & maintain the social distance policy, I appreciate that very much. After my latest experience I decided to read what others feel about this location, and we all have the same issue-- customer service. Well the answer was made clear as to why when I encountered the "customer service manager", I believe named Lolita. She was abrasive and rude, and was teaching a poor young employee the same behavior. After a store manager was called and corrected her mistake, she neglected to acknowledge and apologize, and appeared so upset she was wrong that she wouldn't look me in the eye. It's very unfortunate as I too like other reviewers really love shopping here. I'll now go the extra distance to shop at a different location from now on. read more

Girl??? Is it your money you're giving back to me??? I'm confused did you manufacture these paints yourself???? She made it seem so personal and uncomfortable when all I'm trying to do is have paint I actually enjoy using. Stay away from masters touch. What a horrible place to shop at. The staff is incredibly rude. I asked someone where they might keep mason jars or mini mason jars. She very rudely said "we don't carry that stuff here!". I've been to many cities around California to shop at hobby stores and material stores. They all have the same problem...finding employees that actually WANT to work!
