I was checking out , paid for my purchase , then bought a gift card cause the clerk said it had to be bought separate, no problem . So me and my daughter grab the bags , my daughter had a few bags and I grabbed the last bag that was left on the checkout counter . I threw the gift card in the bag and as we were about to exit the clerk stops me and says the bag I grabbed is not mine , it was another customer that was coming back for it. I gave it back to her and in a kind way told her that was the wrong place to leave the customers bag and went on my way realizing minutes later my gift card was in there . I instantly went back and told her and her response was the bag was already picked up and do I want to buy another one . I told her no , thinking she would do the right thing and give me another card since it was her mistake mixing our bags up . So I left , called the manager and she did offer to pay out of her pocket and give me a new one . Now I'm feeling bad and tell her no . She says she can't turn it in to the store or she will get a write up . So in the end I declined her offer because she made me feel bad for the employees mistake and I'm also out 15.00 on a gift card . I'm sorry but she handled it wrong . Any opinions on this one ?
