I'll start off with I understand that people make mistakes , we all do . However It's important that businesses at least make any kind of attempt to fix the mistake. I was checking out , paid for my purchase , then bought a gift card cause the clerk said it had to be bought separate, no problem . So me and my daughter grab the bags , my daughter had a few bags and I grabbed the last bag that was left on the checkout counter . I threw the gift card in the bag and as we were about to exit the clerk stops me and says the bag I grabbed is not mine , it was another customer that was coming back for it. I gave it back to her and in a kind way told her that was the wrong place to leave the customers bag and went on my way realizing minutes later my gift card was in there . I instantly went back and told her and her response was the bag was already picked up and do I want to buy another one . I told her no , thinking she would do the right thing and give me another card since it was her mistake mixing our bags up . So I left , called the manager and she did offer to pay out of her pocket and give me a new one . Now I'm feeling bad and tell her no . She says she can't turn it in to the store or she will get a write up . So in the end I declined her offer because she made me feel bad for the employees mistake and I'm also out 15.00 on a gift card . I'm sorry but she handled it wrong . Any opinions on this one ? Feel free to comment. I don't get offended easily. read more

Can't beat the prices and selection at this store. Only drawback is trying to keep stock organized. They do have a very good selection and I have always provided great service on my many shopping occasions. read more

Mediocre would be an easy assessment. The store was a mess with crowded aisles and stuff on the floor. The shelves were not stocked well. I suspect that older stuff was in the back. It's a busy intersection outside. Why is this store in need? The employee who rang up my purchases was friendly and even included a coupon. Maybe, they spend all their time at the registers and don't take care of the store, except when they're forced? read more

I found a lot of dog collars here at this location. It's a hit or miss though so when you see them make sure you get or else they will be gone! That happened to me when I needed a matching red harness that I wanted to get for his collar. I didn't buy it when I saw it and when I returned it was gone. The treats I don't usually buy here because they don't have any grain-free ones. But other pet supplies are definitely worth checking out here if you're on a budget. read more

very upset with the service that was provided today by all workers except for the asian young gentleman. they were very rude and showed no concern whatsoever!! customer in front of me was complaining (in a calm voice) to cashier (bald caucasian male with glasses) and he ignored her!! he could've at least pretended he was listening!! and then the lady with a buzz cut was just rude when i asked her where certain items were! like its not my fault if youre not happy here!! im never coming here again!! im calling corporate!! 0 zeros!!!! read more

Give a kid a 5-spot and watch 'em go nuts here! This place is great for party supplies and cheesy toys (love those soak-in-water-expandable-monsters). Also, a good place to get pregnacy tests, LOL, and yep, they're reliable! (Just make sure to go to one out of your neighborhood!) read more

I love coming here cause I can find some bargains the only problem is it's not kept up very well there's things in the aisleway and some of the cashiers are rude and other seven are very nice so that's with any store read more

We did find a lot of things we were looking for that would have been much higher at a lot of other stores. Their store is small and they need more help, but they do have a HELP WANTED sign on their window. It would be great if they could expand with the empty store next door, then there aisles would be bigger and easier to go down. Plus they could add more variety. read more

If you ever need something for cheap I mean cheap everything in the store for one dollar its pretty amazing. They have a pretty big selection of decorations and other stuff for whatever holiday it may be. Not everyone wants to shop here because maybe they are too good for it. But I don't mind it. I won't shop here for food, but I'll shop here for other things. Definitely a quick grab n go kind of store. I wouldnt spend hours shopping in here. read more

This store and employees are so unprofessional OMG. Every time I go the cashiers are having juicy gossip conversations with each other. Only one register is open when half of Modesto is in line to check out. For some reason I always need something from this ratchet store especially around b-days and holidays. I guess you get what you pay for its only a dollar people. (I'm really talking to my self cause I keep going back) read more

Rudest cashier Ashley! Witnessed an elderly lady ask her if there was someone to blow up balloons for her. She rudely answered NO it's just me. Ashley never acknowledged her again as the lady stood there dumbfounded. She could have been nicer and told the lady as soon as she finished ringing up the customers she would help her. read more

Love finding a bargain. The store was very neat and organized which surprised me, usually places like this have things piled into shelves but this store was pretty tidy. read more

This store is great and everything for the simple fact it is the dollar store. But other than that i just left 3 items had to wait 20 minutes in line. The manager that was walking back and forth in between the aisles was too busy checking if people were stealing versus hopping on another register to knock that line down. But simple fact it is ALWAYS like this. You need more people at the registers. And better customer service. I can see why the workers are uptight the manager alone sets a bad tone. read more

The prices and selection are awesome. I never walk out of there empty-handed, but I would like to see more cashiers up front. I would walk in this store on a regular basis and find 10-15 people in one line with one cashier. read more

I would give them a minus star here , no customer service at all no eye contact from the cashiers one of them was Ashley therefore I had the worst experience ever I didn't know they sold news papers for 1 dollar I went in a Sunday asked the cashier (Caitlin)if they had any she said no and in front of her register she had some newspapers I asked to see if I can see they were The Sunday newspaper and she said oh I don't think you can and I look at the newspapers any ways and they were the Sunday newspapers and she was not trying to sell me one I asked her are you guys selling them and she said I don't think so I did not end up buying them because she told me they were not for sale but yet they were advertising the Modesto bee news papers all because Caitlin was too lazy to help me worst experience! I will not come back to this dollar tree stay away ! I rather buy the modesto bee at savemart and pay full price ! read more
